4 night versus 5 night...need advice

Are the 5 night, double dip cruises worth $400 more total than a 4 night? Is $1852 considered a good price for 2A, 1C? I'm new to all this. We'd love to do a 7 night but it's $1K more than a 5 night. Our dates are flexible. It looks like January 3rd is the least expensive right now. Is that a good time to go? Thanks for any help.

Our first DC was a 4-night and we all agreed on one thing... it was too short! If you can swing one more night, I recommend it.

Is $1852 the price for a 4 night cruise? If so, that comes out to $463 per night...which makes $400 for a 5th night a good deal and the $500 per night extra for the 7 night not quite as good a deal.

Go for the 5-night. It's worth every penny! ::yes:: Our first Disney cruise was a 7-night Eastern Caribbean itinerary. This past June we did a 5-night Bahamian itinerary with Two Stops at Castaway Cay. While we absolutely loooooved both cruises (for different reasons), I personally would much rather sail on the longer cruises. If you can swing it, do the 5-night cruise. :thumbsup2

No, it is actually for a 5 night. BUT that was 1/3/12 pricing and I think we've settled on booking 4/10/12 which is a little more...$1972 including taxes but not insurance, transfers, etc. That's for 2 adults and 1 child in 11C stateroom. If we wanted to go on a 4 night, it would actually be $1604 on April 29, 2012 so $368 for an extra day for all 3 of us. Is that good? I am so clueless here :rotfl:

We really wanted to go on the Fantasy but might need to look into 2012 fall/winter sailings and we can't justify almost $1K more for 2 more days.

***eta***I think I've got this.

4 nights at $1604=$401 per day

5 nights at $394 per day

I'm gonna respond here instead of the other thread where I asked you the question about how many people, etc... That, to me, sounds very reasonable. If we could move from our current 4 night to a 5 night for only $400-500 dollars more, we would probably do it, especially if it meant that our kids would not have to miss school AND we get the extra night.

Unfortunately for us, to move from our current 4 night in Dec 2011 to a 5 night during March, we would have to pay almost $1000 more. We can't justify that, much less swing it.

In your situation, we would probably go for it.

We're looking at the 5-N on 4/5/12 on the Dream....only thing is I'm not sure when DD will be out for spring break!! :headache: Easter Sunday is 4/8/12 and looking at the past 2 school calendars one year it was the week before Easter and this school year it's the week after Easter Sunday. I'm feeling somewhat ok about it though because either way she would only really miss 2 maybe 3 days of school. The price for 4/5, 5-N, DD at CC for 2 A, 1C (age 14) is coming up to $2398.51 in a 10A. What do you guys think of this price? (to OP...hope you don't mind me hijacking your thread :goodvibes)

Hi,
We went on the 4 day on the Wonder and have a 5 day on the Dream booked for March 2012. I would do the 5 day if you can. I felt rushed on the 4 day!
Good Luck!

Thank you! Our 4 night in December that we had on reserve was $530 less than the 5 night. I also didn't hold it until recently and I understand rates were probably cheaper on the 4 night for Dece 2011 when they first came out. So I have booked the 5 night on the dream for $1972 for April 2012. I hope that a Florida resident discount comes out :).

I definitely don't mind. Ask away. Maybe we both can learn a thing or two :). I am curious why it seems nobody likes the 11C staterooms. It's all we can afford :rotfl:
