Have been doing some research on the Disney Y.E.S. program and looking at the possibility of booking a trip for our Girl Scout troop.

On past trips to the world I know I've seen a lot of students in quick service locations turning in a voucher for a meal of entree, drink & dessert. Am trying to figure out if this can be added to the Y.E.S. program but have had no luck finding any info anywhere.

Anyone here know????

Thanks!

Yes! You are able to add meal vouchers to the Y.E.S. program. I did that a few years back and we all loved it! We definitely ate a lot of food too! :goodvibes

Yes on the same online page you use to get your YES tickets you will see the meal vouchers.

That being said I organized a trip for my son's high school band and we didn't use the vouchers because, for our group, most of the time you waste money on them.

In Feb '10 the vouchers were $14 a piece. The voucher is only good at certain limited CS places mainly the biggies like Cosmic rays in MK and Electric Umbrella at Epcot. No Columbia Harbor house or all the CS places in the world showcase except the one in the US pavilion.

At the time we went, for that $14 dollars you got a drink, combo meal and a desert. You gave up the voucher when you paid so if you didn't want the dessert or just got the pizza without the salad you wasted about $3.

Also again using Feb '10 prices it was hard to come up with a meal that cost over $14 so even if you got everything you never got a deal. It was like you were paying Disney a $1 or more every meal for the convenience of not having to use cash.

We gave our kids one $15 meal card, available from the same site, per day for any food anywhere. We had 7th to 12th graders so not everyone was going to eat two full meals with desert a day. One parent commented that her daughter would only eat soft pretzels and ice cream all week. Some eat one big meal and just a few snacks.

PS after you fill out the info on this page http://www.disneynow.com/profile/form/index.cfm?PKformID=0x13833a66d you should see the vouchers and the meal cards.

Thanks for the info!

Wow....$14 I expected them to be a little more of a discount. Think the card might work better.

I don't think there is really any discount. I did a few examples of CS meals and most came to about 13.20 without tax even with the dessert.

Go to the menus at allears.net and price out a few meals. I think even if you get everything the most expensive meal you can get is about 14.75 or so.

Add in that its very limited to the places you can go.

I'm going from memory when we used these vouchers for a trip 4 years prior.

At MK you got Cosmic Rays, Pinocchio Haus (which closed real early) and Pecos Bill.

At Epcot I think only Electric Umbrella and the one in the US pavilion.

For DHS Pizza Planet and one or two others (we only ate one meal here and knew it would be Pizza Planet.

Didn't go to AK.
