Basking in the Glow of the (not so) Creepy Clown -2/11-Pictures, Final Thoughts, PTR!

Love that Henry remembered where to go. I love WDW and DH still knows it better direction wise and where things are. Does that sand material also not get hot like regular sand? That's a double bonus with the clean factor.

As I was reading this update, I suddenly thought how I probably need to pay closer attention for fun things for little kids to do, since I know I'll be taking my newest niece with me, probably sooner rather than later.

What a fun time for Henry at The Boneyard! My girls have already told me they would like to spend more time there this year. It is a great place for them to blow off some steam, isn't it?

Hi Brook! :wave2:

Finally all caught up. Seriously, is Henry just about the sweetest child on the planet or what?

Big Skittle hugs for you, your family and friends. What a horrible, horrible thing to be going through.

We arrive on February 26 and depart on March 12.

Hm.

How convenient.

Tinkerbellarella will be in the World for the Princess 1/2 Marathon 2/25-3/5. ::yes:: TarzansKat too. AND MRYPPNS, I believe. Do I smell a DISMeet?

What a fun way for Henry to spend the afternoon! Nothing like digging in the sand and burying loved ones.

:rotfl: He would do it every single day. Today we were supposed to go to a park in the City with a huge sandpit, but it's raining. Poor dude, he's so bummed.

I can't imagine you were naughty enough to get banned to a crate!! Poor Mommy! :lmao:

So funny how a kid can be so happy with dirt and a shovel. Do you picture landscaping or road crew in his future?

It was SO hot that week!! I feel your pain!

:rotfl2: I was very naughty according to Henry! He told me "Go in box Mommy!" and then deserted me as he ran off to a cave.

He told me the other day he wants to drive a digger. Not too bad of a job! I would prefer if he was NEVER on the highway crews with cars flying by though! :scared1:

I am happy to see that the sand area is shaded. Phew. It had to be shaded to enjoy it that week. TOO HOT! In all of my trip notes I spelled hot --- HOTTTTTT. The t's express the true hotness. :lmao:

 It was hot! We did much better this year than last though. Last September I was DYING, and just pouring off sweat. I don't know if we managed our fluid intake better, just stayed in the shade more, or if we can chalk it up to the fact that we actually exercise now??? :confused3

I'm SO glad that sand pit is shaded. We would have pulled him outta there much quicker. They also had a ton of fans on up toward the ceiling. It wasn't too bad back there. Now if those rocks were only a bit more comfy....

I'm glad things are getting better for your family!

I'm not really sure if it was a TS other then the breakfast with Donald! It was cute though! That fixin's bar was about where the buffet was! Funny story, DD was almost 4 that trip and she was wearing a brand new denim skort! I didn't realize it was a bit to big for her! When she was walking back from the buffet with me her skort fell down! She was behind me so I didn't see it! A lady pointed it out to me and I turned around, there was little DD shuffling along with her skort down around her ankles, holding her plate with both hands! :lmao::rotfl2: I ended up having to make a belt out of my camera bag strap to get her through the day :lmao:

Yeah, I don't venture off the TR/PTR board for that very reason! A lot of people get really bent out of shape over nothing!

Great update! It looks like Henry had a fabulous time digging in the sand! I love that it isn't real sand too! I hate that dusty, yucky mess that gets all over!

Glad you got to ride EE! I really wish we had been able to in January! But it was down the day we were in AK! I wonder if I'll be able to DH to ride with me in a few weeks!

Can't wait to hear about the rest of the day!

That is hilarious about your DD!!! Oh poor thing...:rotfl:

I hope you get to ride EE!!!! It's such a fantastic ride!!

I love that sand. Is it cork? Same stuff at t-Rex.

I haven't a clue what kind of material it is...but man, I love it too! I wish ALL sandboxes had that type of sand. I didn't realize they have a sandpit area over at T-Rex...I gotta research that! In March we plan to take Henry there to explore the gift shop area.

Awww the pictures of Henry playing in the sand are priceless!! Thankfully that area is shaded!!! Glad he had such a great time at the Boneyard!!

YAY for Mom being able to go ride EE! I really enjoy that ride too and look forward to my next attempt on it LOL!!!!

I love it too. I can't NOT ride it in a trip. It's just so well done and thrilling, yet not scary. And that yeti is a piece of art! It's just incredible. I've only seen him working once though. :sad2:

Nice post...love all the pics from that Boneyard area. We have sadly not taken Alexa there either.:sad2: Bad parents!
On our last trip in May it I just thought it would be brutally hot in there. Good to see that it is shaded. I was also worried about all that sand, but Im glad to read that it isnt sand at all. Looks like lots of fun and we will definately have to take Alexa next May:thumbsup2

 You aren't bad parents! It can be very hot in the Boneyard, but the Dig Site area is nicely shaded and has fans! It's really not too bad back there. Alexa is gonna love it! There is quite a bit to explore in the slides area too.

We avoided the big dig last time cause I was terrified of the mess and figured we would need to run right back to our hotel after. Never knew it wasn't real sand. NICE!!!!! Great tip!! :thumbsup2

Love the pics!! Looks like such a fun area to pass some time!!

:yay: Glad to help! It's not dirty at all, which is wonderful considering Joe and I were also practically knee deep in it. ;)

Here I go again... thinking I posted but didn't. Maybe I just posted in my mind... :cloud9:

Henry was too cute in that 'sand' You gotta love how Disney thinks of everything and makes sand that... well... isn't sand! :lmao:

How funny he was trying to push that truck out from being stuck.

Wonder why your DH didn't want to ride on EE.... Chicken? :confused3 :lmao::lmao:

My kids and their cousins loved the sand pit at TRex! Definately take him. Just don't eat there unless it's just for dessert or something. It's a cool restaurant but we found the service extremely slow, the food not very good and it was very expensive. I would like to take boys back there just to play and see the gift shop next time. One thing we did not do was the gift shop! Good to know it's the same material at the Boneyard, we will hit that up next time :thumbsup2

Glad to see that Henry had such a good time just digging in the dirt! Go with it, right?

::yes:: it was a great way to spend an hour. He was so excited and thrilled, which makes us happy!

Restrauntasauris (sp?) used to have the Donald breakfast before Tushker house went to TS. Only breakfast though, then was CS for the rest of the day.

I can remember our first trip to AK. It was 1999, and Paige and Michael were my "kids" then. Just a mom of 2 at that point. The only things in Dinoland was Dinosaur and the play/dig site. It was completely open. I haven't been "in" it since, but I see it has treees all around it now. This thing was completely open and you could see into it as you walked by. Dinosaur also had an outside queue at the time too. I don't remember if it had the "movie or not. I am thinking it was playing on TVs that were randomly mounted through out the line. So while you waited, you watch it. And it went around the back side ofthe ride, I think. I remember it being REALLY long! It had just opened and we waited for about 2 hours. They must've still been working on the hold room at that point. I was amazed how different it was when we went over there in the last few years. I wish I would've taken pictures of the outside area back then.

Her's a picture of Paige at the dig site though. Her goal was to uncover the whole dinosaur!

06-06-201010_54_19AM.jpg

Man, I would love to see old pictures of it! I just can't imagine how much different the parks will be in another 10 years. It will be fun to experience it all! By then the old Fantasyland and Toontown will be a think of Disney history.

Great picture of Paige! It's crazy to see her so young and in the sand, when I'm certain she wouldn't go near that now!

Ive been away since school started, and yours was the first report I needed to find!! BLT was next on our list but now I'll be adding BW as well! LOL!!

Soooooo excited for your 15 day stay!!!!!!I cant wait to read all about it.

Many prayers coming for your friends and family during the aftermath of the flooding...I cant begin to imagine:(

Glad you found me!!!! We truly loved the BW, it was a beautiful resort. Joe wasn't quite as excited as I am about it, but he still liked it a lot. He missed the easy CS option. I suppose I didn't miss that because the few times we ate at the resort I stayed in the room with H while he found food. We are VERY much looking forward to BLT in March too!

Thank you for the prayers. I was in tears (again!) last night after seeing pictures of the house and speaking with my Mom. It's just awful.

What a fun place. We are totally going to check it out in Dec!! Great pics!

Your girls will love it! They will enjoy the slides too. December is such a nice time for the parks because Mom and Dad aren't melting and the kids can run around with getting too hot!

Hi, Brook. We are back and I'm going to try to catch up on your TR tomorrow or Friday. It's amazing how far behind we get when away. I've started my TR (linked in my signature), but I want to spend the next day catching up on all of my subscribed threads.

Welcome back!!! I found your TR earlier today! :yay: I get far behind in normal life - but when I come back from a trip it takes forever to catch-up it seems! It's like a part-time job.

I just found your TR and read through all the links! Great TR so far! Henry is too cute!
Cant wait to read more! :goodvibes

:welcome: Thank you for reading!!! And thank you for the compliment on Henry. :cutie:

This is so good to know. I really don't like sand, so that has been one reason why we never ventured that way. You would have thought though with a little boy and 4 trips to Disney World, that we would have made it over there. We are just always so busy at AK. We never go there for more than one day, so we tend to rush it. Maybe this next time we can make it over there. And now that I know about the sand, I will be more excited about it.

I love the single rider line. Last time we were there, I rode it two times with less than a 5 minute wait each time. Well the second time might have been more but only because I let someone go in front of me, because I wanted to be paired up with this single rider waiting in the front row only line. I saw her by herself and I asked her if she was for sure alone and I took that opportunity to ride in the front row. If you haven't gotten a chance to do that, you really need to. It is awesome. I'm hoping this time that my DS will be tall enough. He is measuring 43.5 inches right now, with no shoes. So I'm thinking we will be fine. I hope he will love it. He loved BTMR last trip and says he wants to do it 6 times this trip, double what he did last time.

It really is a fun area! We missed a ton (as you'll soon find out!) on our AK day because we spent so much time in there, but it was okay, our little guy had a blast, so we enjoyed it. Hopefully in March we'll have 2 AK days!

I was hoping more for a wait on the Single Rider Line like you had! It took a long time, and not really for any reason other than there just wasn't a need for Single Riders. The CM was very good at letting us in (I've read that problem on Single Rider Lines before, the CM seems to forget there are Single Riders waiting!). I *think* I have ridden in the front row on EE...I think. I know I have for BTMRR....does the EE front car have a "nose" on it, or is it just straight down regular roller coaster car? I gotta try it again, even if I have, because I can't remember! I hope your DS is tall enough!!! Ooooh that will be SO fun for everyone to ride!!

Thanks for all the pictures of the playground! Since I don't have kids this is an area that I never explored and I loved getting a glimpse of it. It is so wel themed. And Henry must really love it!! :goodvibes

Your welcome!!! It is very well themed, so many little details in there too. We've never been through it all because one area is a big net that kids can crawl in and Henry just doesn't do those yet. So I'm thinkin' my TRs for years to come will feature new areas!

I was looking at a little dino excavation kit at the book store yesterday, and it had those same little bitty pebble-type things.

It is amazing what they remember. Once when Brooklynn was really little, we walked past a place and she told me that's where you get biscuits. We had eaten biscuits there on the trip before, but I sure didn't think she was aware enough to remember it.

According to the backstory on this area, 1947 is when the dinosaur bones were found. Don't know if it's just some random year they picked or if it goes deeper.

Coincidentally, I just put up a picture of your Pop window from this summer on our From Pop to the Top report.

It is amazing what they remember! And you'd think some amazing moments, like the first time they meet Mickey, they would remember, but nope. It's biscuits and a giant sandbox. :rotfl:

Ahhhh! I wonder if 1947 does have a deeper meaning? I'm assuming it does somehow. Maybe something with the Imagineers! :confused3

How cool that it's not real sand. Makes me wanna go and check it out now hehe

You could say you were looking for your "niece" and you thought she might be buried by the dino!

Fun in the sand!:goodvibes I like the fact that it's not true sand to not dirty the kids too much. They really think of everything, don't they?:worship:

I'll have to try EE at night if we get a chance next trip, I'll bet it's a totally different experience. I've never been to AK for EMH, somehow I'm only able to get DH to go here once. I know it's not his favorite park, but I could honestly stay here all day and all night.:)

Yes! They really do think of everything. It is awesome!

EE at night it a completely different ride. Everything is dark, not just the backwards part!:eek::eek: I literally could not see the track. It was a BLAST!

The single rider line on EE is stupendous, isn't it? :) if you don't mind riding without your group, it's a great way to go!

Henry had such fun digging -how great! That is a great spot, I'll have to remember that for November. :)

I love the Single Rider Lines, so, so handy. I think I've done the one on RnRC once too and it went by FAST. This one was a bit slow, but fine.

And all the kids can bring their buckets from you with them in November and dig away! :thumbsup2

Very cool that Henry was able to get his bucket and shovel! When we stayed at the Beach Club in 2007, the CS place by the pool gave their kids' meals in buckets, too. :thumbsup2

:lmao: Oh my gosh, that is so funny! Your poor DD! :rotfl:

I am keeping that in mind for when we are at the BW in March!!

Hi, Brook. We're back and I'm going to spend tonight and tomorrow catching up on my subscribed threads...I can't believe how far behind I am (I started my TR if you are interested).
Thanks again for the help with the photopass.

:rotfl2: You already posted here saying almost the same thing. :goodvibes Too many threads all at once, DIS overload!!!! ;) Naw, I'm just teasin' - I SO understand. I posted on your TR earlier today, looking forward to it all! I love that you included Mary and her girls in your Cast of Characters!

Your welcome on the Photopass, it worked out so nicely. Kristen is doing hers now and very soon we'll have that CD!

Wow alot to catch up on can't wait to read what I missed while in disney!
Though when we were at the boardwalk I thought of your TR. And a fellow disser and I referenced your 5 minute wait for soarin' in your TR haha you're famous

Welcome back!!! How was your trip?

That's so funny about the 5 minute wait! I wonder if that will EVER happen again??? It was so unreal that we walked all through that queue (which we have never done, we've always FPed it!) and straight onto a little yellow arrow and the pre-show was already playing!

So now I'm known for Corn Dog Nuggets and the 5 minute Soarin' wait time!

I think of so many DISers on vacation too - and in normal life. It's fun how we all are in each others lives like that!

Brook, loving the TR!! I'm so sorry for your family, I'll be lifting them in prayer this week. I can't imagine how hard that would be to go through, we flooded a lot here too recently, but I praise God it didn't flood our house. :worship: They called it a 100 year flood, I had never seen it rain like it did here. It was crazy, it was the effects from Tropical storm Hermine for us.

Little man looks so happy in the "sand."
I wondered about the date you mentioned too, and all I could find according to the date and excavations are a A LOT of sites reporting on many, many dig sites at that time discovering a great many things including prehistoric sites. So that may be the only thing it has to do with, but then again it's Disney so you never know!
Even the dead sea scrolls were discovered then! Very fascinating information if you google the year and what signifigance did it have with excavations or archeological sites, you should get quiet a few links to look over. :goodvibes

Thank you so much for your prayers. I'm praying for you (and your son, and his GF) about the whole Texas deal too. I spoke to my Mom for almost an hour last night about the flood. I'd say 96% of the time I was crying. It's just devastating. You know, your flood story reminds me of several times in just recent years Joe or I have come THISCLOSE to something major - like a few weeks ago I was walking along our neighborhood, pushing Henry in his stroller-doing my thing. Suddenly I hear a CRASH and directly behind me a young man biking was hit by a car. :scared1: If I were 8 seconds later, it would have been Henry or I. Thankfully the young man was FINE. His bike was not. But let me tell you, I almost fell to my knees at that second giving praise to our Protector right in the middle of the sidewalk. I was shaking for hours. 100 year flood and you are removed from the affects of it? Um, ya. Divine. ::yes:: :thumbsup2

Ooooh, that is interesting about the dig sites! I wonder if that is it. How cool!!

I didn't realize that about the Dead Sea Scrolls either. Wow! Joe and I visited Israel :cloud9: back in 2006 and got to see where they were found, but all the dates/info blurs together. We have hours and hours of video footage of our tour guide though. We really should put that together and re-educate ourselves!

Looks like Henry had a blast playing the the boneyard. This is another thing my now 11 year old still likes to do. It's a wonderful place to burn off some energy.

He really did! I love that your 11 year old still enjoys it! I will miss when our trips start to shift away from simple things like the Boneyard.

I love your boneyard update. What a cool place! I can honestly say that I haven't spent much time in there. I went in there with LJ last summer and I don't remember seeing all that cool stuff in the dark. Great pictures.

I would have been cracking up behind those two boys on EE. What a hoot! I love that ride!

Those boys were so funny! They were young, but trying to be so tough. I kept quiet and just smiled. I almost said something, but refrained and let them have their macho time together. Then the picture. :rotfl: I was so proud of my ride-mate! He was BRAVE! I wish I would have stuck around to hear what they said to each other at the picture center!

First off...I'm so sorry to hear about your family and friend's homes. I will be keeping them in my thoughts and prayers. So sad!

And as for the tr...nice update! We have avoided the boneyard because I did not want to deal with sand during the trip! Petty, I know! But maybe we'll check it out now! haha
I also took advantage of the single rider line for EE last year. My husband doesn't care to ride it so we don't have to worry about a child swap there. I probably waited about 15 mins on the single rider line as well.

Thank you for your prayers! They really are needed.

Oh, it's not petty, I understand!! Sand makes kids sooooo dirty and it gets EVERYWHERE. I would probably try to avoid it as well, unless it was a "right before we leave the park" sort of thing. :thumbsup2

Okay, I am ALL caught up. Love the pics at Planet Watch and Henry with the goats (those goats must have a great temperament to have all of those people handling them all of the time). And the pictures of Henry in the boneyard are absolutely precious. We have never even stepped foot in Restaurantosaurs before...I think we'll have to take a look next trip.

I thought the same thing about those goats! They were just chill as all the kids "pet" and "brushed" them. Thankfully they do have the roped off area for them to escape to!

Restaurantosaurs is a fun place - lots of little details. The food is basic, but good.

That is a very good question about the temp of the fake sand. It wasn't hot at ALL, and that might be due to it being shaded + fans, but I would assume it would even still be a bit hot....another awesome factor! Love it!!

You are going to love taking your niece! Have you guys ever taken a little one before? It's amazing to watch their eyes light up. Small World, characters (if they don't freak), play grounds. You are set!

What a fun time for Henry at The Boneyard! My girls have already told me they would like to spend more time there this year. It is a great place for them to blow off some steam, isn't it?

Yes! It's a great place for them to run, run, run! Or in Henry's case, dig, dig, dig! He did run some before we left too. I think, if we allowed him, we could end up for hours in there!

Hi Brook! :wave2:

Finally all caught up. Seriously, is Henry just about the sweetest child on the planet or what?

Big Skittle hugs for you, your family and friends. What a horrible, horrible thing to be going through.

Hm.

How convenient.

Tinkerbellarella will be in the World for the Princess 1/2 Marathon 2/25-3/5. ::yes:: TarzansKat too. AND MRYPPNS, I believe. Do I smell a DISMeet?

Hello Tink!!!!

I'm pretty fond of Henry. I tell him all the time if I had to pick out of all the little boys in the whole wide world, I would pick HIM! Now he tells me the same.

Except I'm not little.

Or a boy.

:goodvibes

Thank you for the hugs. It's a very difficult time. I'm pretty much not letting myself dwell on it TOO much, I always end up crying, crying, crying. Crying for my cousin. Crying for my Grandma. Crying for the house. Blah. But, there is hope still. Everyone is trying to be in good spirits.

::yes:: I think you do smell a DISMeet! They smell almost as good as Corn Dog Nuggets! ;)

I have spoken to MRYPPNS briefly on a meet, I'm thinkin' we should find a time for all of us. We are pretty flexible this trip...so I can probably roll with anything.

:rotfl: No, Joe really likes coasters, but he was just tired and not wanting to be in the sun. One ride is generally enough for him too (whereas I could ride, ride, ride, ride!), so he figured he'd just do it later in the week during the PM EMH. We'll see how that turns out...:rolleyes1

Thank you for the tips! The sand pit is outside the restaurant or where? I was thinking I could get a gift card from MyPoints for T-Rex so the meal would be cheaper, but after reviewing the menu it was just meh to me. And your review here just made me feel better about my decision! Henry loves the gift shops at Disney. He always wants to go in them. "Fun stuff in there!"

Hi! Followed you here from PopArtGirl's TR popcorn:: joining in a bit late!

Love all your updates so far.. the Boardwalk is my DVC 'home', so I love seeing photos of it... the view from your room was breathtaking! :cloud9:

Emma princess: x

From what I remember to get into the pit area you have walk into the restaurant and go to the right and walk thru the gift shop. We just rushed the kids thru so we didn't have to buy anything after we spent all that money on dinner! Meanies!

:lmao: I personally liked the "Cloak of the Dyslexic Wizard"

And yes, I am!

It's Zebra print. Appropriate for AK, right? :rotfl:

Girl, call it by it's rightful name, The Snuggie! Say it with pride and don't let anyone tell you differently!

Loved this update, Henry seems to get cuter with each one! The boneyard looks like so much fun! And hello, Disney is amazing to have thought of kid proof sand! Yet another reason why this is my favorite place to vacay!

How cute was he trying to push that stuck Jeep?:goodvibes You should just change his name from Henry to adorable Super Hero! His mantra could be "Rescues broken down archeologists, leaps tall boneyard areas in a single bound, never fear, Super Henry is here!":goodvibes

Isn't it funny that he'd enjoy the boneyard so much? You're in Disney and he likes the sand pit! It's just like my kids...after the 1st time we went to Disney, I asked them their favorite thing. I'm thinking they'll say Soarin' or Test Track or meeting the Princesses. Nope, it was the stupid pool! DH got a huge kick out of that, since we'd dropped a small fortune on a Disney trip and all!

Looking forward to the next update Brook!:goodvibes

My trip was wonderful but looking forward to the next... actually thinking Boardwalk, maybe beach club.. think next trip since i'll be married we'll buy into dvc as well so when we have kids we can take them loads of times and make them addicted haha.

Oh corn dog nuggets are wonderful I ate a bunch at Tusker House for lunch. I did a 2 month fast food diet and corn dog nuggets were low cal!!! (The diet was awesome I lost 30 lbs in 2 months eating fast food as I was travelling lots)
A and W has the corn dog nuggets and they taste pretty similar to Casey's in my opinion!

:welcome: Thank you for finding me here! We have discussed when we add on to add on at the BW! I cannot believe how low the resale points are there. :confused3 But, I really didn't mind since the lower the price the more points we can buy!

:rotfl:Meanies! ;) I'm so with you. Henry is at the age where he wants everything, but thankfully he doesn't fit or anything when we tell him no. Yet.

Thank you for the tip! I am going to put this in my trip notes! :thumbsup2

 Yes, it's a Snuggie! And I really, really like it!!!! It's stinkin' handy and keeps me warm at the computer. :thumbsup2

Love the Super Hero mantra!!! He would too. :rotfl: I'll have to remember that for next time we go into the Boneyard to announce it as he runs through!

That is so funny about your kids! I've heard that more than once...it's amazing what impresses kids! I'm sure Henry will say the same when he gets older, now he says "Jumping on the bed." Gotta plan lots of hotel time!

My trip was wonderful but looking forward to the next... actually thinking Boardwalk, maybe beach club.. think next trip since i'll be married we'll buy into dvc as well so when we have kids we can take them loads of times and make them addicted haha.

Okay...hold the phone. You did a FAST FOOD diet? and LOST 30 pounds??? Do tell. I need the info!!!! I'm so Googling that....!!!!!

Where do you think you'll buy into DVC? We don't really take advantage of our 11 month window, but will on a future trip when we want to stay Conceriage at AKL (it's the only DVC with conceriage), otherwise we are always booking at 7 months or even less than that....so, we will probably buy resale next time at whatever is the cheapest!

We left off as we were pulling ourselves out of the Dig Site in the Boneyard and in search of somewhere to cool down a bit. Air conditioning, a breeze, anything....

A check of the 3 Things list...

  1. Boneyard - check.
  2. Planet Watch - check
  3. Flights of Wonder
Well, Flights of Wonder was neither close to where we were, nor had a breeze - and I had forgotten to grab a Times Guide, so I hadn't a clue when the show was. :headache:

Instead we went here

The wait time was more like 5 minutes, 1 rotation.

Flying around in a Dino was sure to generate at least some sort of breeze, right???

Henry and Joe took the front, I took the back.

As we exited I remembered a detail that I once read about on a blog

1006123983_CFkFd-M.jpg

If you look closely this Exit sign is an old license plate that Chester and Hester painted over. There are tons of details like this that show how "make-shift" this road side carnival is supposed to be.

After the ride Joe brought up Finding Nemo. I immediately vetoed it, wanting to see Flights of Wonder.

But, then reality set in.

It was hot.
Really, really hot.

Nemo=air conditioning.

Air conditioning=happy husband.

Can you see where this is going?

Bye Dinoland!

Hello Finding Nemo!

We asked a CM and the show was going to start in about 20 minutes, so we decided to grab a bench in the shade and devour 2 of these

Frozen lemonades - one strawberry, one original.

He was very much looking forward to the treat!

Those little beauties helped cool us down some more and it was timed just right as we finished them and walked up to the theater.

I really do enjoy this show. Even though we have seen it every trip for the past 3 or 4 and I still have yet to see Flights of Wonder! ;) It is beautifully done and incredibly impressive. If you haven't seen it, GO! You won't be disappointed!

Plus ya know, it's air conditioned. :thumbsup2

After the show we decided to be done with AK. Technically we weren't DONE - there were oodles of things we skipped, but we were spent. It was time to go back and relax. I didn't want to push it this trip, I was being very mindful about going with the flow. We had accomplished 2 of the 3 things on the list and I was okay with that. Flights of Wonder? See you in March! ::yes::

Heading back to the buses

And before we knew it we were back seeing this

It was around 3:00. Would Henry nap so late in the day? We had no plans for the rest of the evening, what would we do?

Squeal!!! I absolutely love the Nemo show! We see it every time! And yes, the air conditioning is a big selling feature. When we went last year, my poor in-laws were melting in the heat so we hit this show and they were in heaven! Honestly, it could've been a show about garbage bags and dental floss and they'd have loved it because it was soooo hot & humid that day and the A/C was on!

I have to say, I'm impressed with your go-with-flow touring style! I'm trying to get there, I really am and I *think* I'm better about it. DH might say otherwise so don't ask him! Seriously though, it seems like you had the right attitude and it showed in your magical trip. Awesome!:goodvibes

It must have been horribly hot!! Henry looks like he is wringing wet in those pictures! He looks so adorable waiting on that frozen lemondae :)
I thought you got to sit up close (because of Joes eyesight) in the shows. Looks like you are far back in Nemo. Did you not get a disability card this trip?
A relaxing evening sounds great! Cant wait to hear what you all ended up doing:thumbsup2

Bummer about not getting to Flights of Wonder but I think you'll have plenty of time on your March trip to see it. LOL. It is a fun show and the birds are amazing. I'm hoping to talk my sister into seeing it when we go.
