PTR Oct 2010 - An Aussie returns: Back home and TR started (11/02)

:lmao: I love your NOT Illustrated Itinerary :teeth: Your cats are adorable!

Thanks. I think my cats are adorable too; except when they bite, scratch or wake me up in the middle of the night...and then they are NOT.

I love it Sharon! Those are all perfect reasons to NOT not go back to WDW!

So much so, I wish I was at the World now and NOT here. But anticipating a trip is more than half the fun for me.

That is a great illustrated NOT itinerary!

I had a lot of fun taking the photos....and working out what I did NOT want to be doing on holiday.

I would like to thank Ms. Shuttergirl for the tagline for this post.

Firefly tells me that we are down to 40 days for my NOT not trip.
40 days....:woohoo:

So, I've been spending some time thinking about the more prosaic side of travel....namely what things I might need to get for this trip.

I know that I've already spent a bit on the international airfare and DH's work is paying for accommodation, his ticket and his conference registration; so it does NOT seem crazy to spend more for:

1. Food. I've worked out that I will need to buy food OOP as it would appear that I will NOT be able to go on a Disney dining plan. I think I'm going to have to allocate a budget of about $50 per day for this.

2. MNSSHP tickets. I've purchased and paid for my MNSSHP tickets for the 24th and the 26th October. It might be overkill for me to attend TWO parties in the 4 nights that I'm at the World; but I say why NOT? Afterall, I'm (not) likely to head back this way for a while. :rolleyes1 And I opted for the on-line ticket so I have these printed out for me to take. :thumbsup2

3. Park Hopper tickets. I've decided to buy a 4 day park hopper ticket to the World. This should cover me for Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and possibly a very short visit on Wednesday morning should I choose to. I know that I may NOT be visiting any park on Wednesday; but it will cost me an extra $6 for a 4 day park hopper compared with a 3 day park hopper. I think $6 is worth spending to keep this option open. I'm going to purchase this ticket when we check in.

4. LBD. I've got my eye on a light weight black dress that would be perfect to wear to one of the MNSSHP. I do NOT need to purchase this dress; but if it goes on sale in the next 40 days, I may well find that this will be slip its way into the empty bags. :rotfl:

Anyone want to pick out the item that it would NOT seem crazy to get in the list above? :rotfl2:

Hm... I'm gonna say the dress, since you've already bought your MNSSHP tickets, you need food on your vacation, and the park hoppers make sense, so the only thing that isn't a given is the dress :)

I'm NOT going to MNSSHP dressed as Lady Godiva!

That is so NOT a good look for me! :lmao:

I guess it had to happen at some time....better now than never :thumbsup2.

This post will be working hard at NOT using 'NOT' :lmao: ......

I have been working hard at the only practical bit planning that I must take seriously. I have no choice but to be sensible for this item.

Curious? You might be disappointed when you find out......

Well...It really is a very pragmatic item ....

It all comes down to $$$ and a favourable Australian to US Dollar exchange rate. :rolleyes1

Today, the Australian Dollar hit an exchange rate of 94.5 cents against the US Dollar. The significance of this particular rate is that it is the rate that the Aussie Dollar got to as a high point BEFORE the Global Financial Crisis.
(If you're feeling a tad disappointed at this stage, I did warn you that this item sits firmly in the 'sensible' tag!).

Me? This is an occassion for celebration :cool1: :cool1: over in DownUnder land :upsidedow!

To celebrate this high point, I changed enough Australian money for US money to cover:
  • Park Hopper Tickets
  • Food budget
  • Shopping for the allocated items in a previous post that I wished I had gotten in May but resisted (OMG! It was hard to avoid that word I'm avoiding.....nearly used it again just in this sentence!)
  • A little bit extra for the bits and pieces I am sure to want

I'm nearly all set! :dance3: :cheer2:  :cool1:

And should the little Aussie Battler go higher, I plan on exchange some more money at that point.

Here's to a higher exchange rate!

Firefly's just posted her Day 6 Illustrated Itinerary in her PTR.....:headache:

This is my departure day from the World. Now I know what I'll NOT be doing. I'm going to have to do my best NOT to be thinking about her day when I leave.

I hit the WW scales this week; NOT out of choice but more from necessity. A friend of mine *made* me go; and as I have been pretty relaxed about my eating over the last 6 weeks (due to me being sick), I was NOT looking forward to the experience.

Afterall, for those of us that subscribe to WW, you do realise that WE pay THEM for the pleasure of stepping on scales! :rotfl2:

Anyhoo....I was pleasantly surprised to see that I was NOT the weight that I last checked in at...and that I have dropped another 0.3 kg.

YAY ME! :cool1:

Yay! Wish I could say the same! But I'm hoping that once I recover from the visit of my monthly friend, i will have some weight drop....however after lunch today, I better not count on it! :lmao:

The idea for this post stems from the DisBoard Photography section and I thank photo_chick for the name of this post, which is so in keeping with my NOT PTR.

So, here is my compiled list of shots I will NOT be doing – all in the name of trying to improve my photographic skills.

  1. I will NOT be taking aerial shots of WDW from anywhere, as I have an irrational fear of heights. :sad2:
  2. I will NOT be taking any photos of ToonTown because it is closed. :confused3
  3. I will NOT be taking shots when I am falling in ToT, as I will NOT be trying out this ride. :scared1:
  4. I will NOT be taking any shots of DH, he will be attending the convention whilst I do my best to have a good time without him. ;)
  5. I will NOT be taking any shots of my DS at WDW and this will make me sad. :sad1:
  6. I will NOT be taking any shot of internal rides at WDW as I will be too busy having fun and will NOT be thinking about my camera. :thumbsup2
  7. I will literally NOT be shooting any animals at AK; however, I do plan on taking shots of them with my camera instead. :lmao:

That last part made me laugh :lmao: I think Toontown's still open, though!
