Wouldn't have thought to go to this if it wasn't for the DIS. We went and loved it!! It was something different to do. Kids had a blast, bought the smores kit for $8.99 and some sticks. It was my dd's first time having smores and wow, what a sticky mess LOL, but she loved it! Def. reccomend it! We got a great pic with Chip (or maybe it was Dale, I forget now!) and the songs were fun. We would have stayed for the movie portion, but it was HS Musical and my kids weren't really into it. :thumbsup2 Oh..and we saw a snake on the sidewalk near the pool when we were walking back to the bus. THAT was fun! LOL

Glad you had fun, we had a chance to camp at the fort last year and went to the sing a long several times....we could hear it from out campsite too. Kids loved it....even the 10 year old:)

Anyone know when the switch takes place from 8:00 to 7:00? I read somewhere it was "in the fall" but that is rather vague. We arer going in 11 days (!!!) so am wondering which time to plan for.

goisles26,

I just called FWL, the CM said for the whole month of Sept.: that the fire is lit at 7:30, singing starts at 8 and the movie at 8:40. I would suggest if I were you, on the day you choose, make a quick phone call that morning and check times again.

Can I share a tip on how you can tell? My aunt clued me in to this because my cousins (now 27 and 30), LOVED Chip & Dale. You can tell them apart by their noses. Chip's nose is dark brown....like a chocolate chip :goodvibes

It wasn't busy at all when we went...maybe 25 people there? Free and open to everyone

Chip has the smaller nose...that's how I tell them apart LOL. They do cover this at the campfire too! :thumbsup2 I just couldn't remember who we got the pic w/ since I didn't look through my pics when I posted

Yes, can you believe it, disney and free stuff. Don't let this great adventure out to just anybody. Also while you are there, the FW tavern has some really good pizza pie and it's pretty cheap.

If you want up to the day info, you may want to visit the camping section of disboards.

We are staying at POP. Anyone have an idea of the best way to get to the Chip and Dale Campfire from POP? We have taken the ferry before from MK to see Hoop De Doo Revue but looking at the map of FW it looks like a bit of a walk from the ferry to the Campfire. Is it doable?

We stayed at Pop in July and went to the FW Campfire & movie. We ate at Chef Mickey so took the bus to MK and then over to CR. From CR we got on the boat over to FW. Once we arrived at FW there was an internal bus that we took to the campfire area. We left the movie a little early and we waited at the bus stop FOREVER until we gave up and walked back to the boat dock. It was a little bit of a walk but not too bad. Kids didn't complain or anything. Took the boat back to MK and then bus to Pop.

The campfire was cute but it was crowded when we went and stifling hot. No air flow through there. Kids said it was fun but they don't care if we go back next time.
