Split stay with a Disney Resort and Vacation Home

Have any of you guys split a stay between a Disney Resort and a Vacation Home? I really want to stay at a Deluxe Resort but I just can't part with that kind of money for a lengthy stay. I have stayed at POP 3 times before but we have a new addition to our family and would like a larger room.

Funny you should ask, as I'm doing something like that this weekend. I'm staying at AKL, then joining my sister in a 3 bedroom condo for a few days. If it works for you do it. Personally I don't mind a split stay, but some on the boards prefer not to move as they want to settle into their room. Have you looked at renting points from a DVC member? There are times of the year, when rented points can get you a deal on a room that winds up being slightly higher than pop. There are also some good Disney deals going on right now, so maybe one of those will allow you to stay where you want the entire trip. good luck!

2) I had a new addition for a vacation.
3) My MIL.
4) We also did a split.
5) We took the vacation home and gave her Pop.
6) Worked like a charm.
