Consider yourselves lucky

I keep seeing people bummed out because they're having to pay around $200 for their flights........well consider youselves very very very lucky.
The flights we're waiting for have never dropped below $480, not even when they first came out. They'be been $480+ and haven't budged.

Apparently airlines compare prices in our area and match the same prices as Delta. The difference between the companies is only $1-$3....big deal. <said in best sarcastic voice>

Just not used to seeing the prices this high and non-changing. ($200+ more per ticket than we've ever paid is just crap. I understand they need to charge more but aren't they already are through various surcharges? I wouldn't even mind $100 more per ticket but $200 per ticket? Geez O'Malley that's just too much. I contemplate seeing us selling our DVC because we can't afford to get there anymore.)

The flights we booked on SWA for Thanksgiving were $400 per person the day they came out and have gone up to close to $600 since then. For this past spring break our tix were a bargain at $350. Unfortunately, SWA is the only carrier flying STL-MCO non stop (except for maybe one AirTran flight a day that seems to come and go from their schedule), so that's what we have to pay if we want a non stop. FWIW, the connecting flights on other airlines aren't really priced any better and the times are lousy.

uhh who do you guys fly with my last two flights have been over $700 from Saskatchewan, Canada to Orlando and my trip next year my flight is still over $700.

im guessing you live way closer than i do...

Oh I'm so sorry to hear that! Yeah, a bit closer...we're in northern Minnesota. At what point do you finally book?
If it drops a bit or if you get too close to your trip?

Depends on the airline. If you're looking at an airline that will credit you if the fares drop, book now. I wouldn't wait. Especially since you said you have DVC - so you'll certainly be returning.

Sorry flights are so expensive from your area! :(

You're not alone Tecbot. I've never gotten flights less than $600 each. $700 each this time. With 2 stops. :sad2:

Are you trying to fly out of MSP or one of the small outlying airports? Up until yesterday you could have had SWA flights from MSP for $135 round trip (with $25 coupon for flights to FL or $160 w/o).

That would require a stop (yeah, not my favorite either) in either Saint Louis or Chicago but with total travel times remaining under 5 hours. I didn't check specific holiday dates so they may be higher if that's when you were planning to fly. SWA has seemed to run one of these sales about once per month since we booked our stay at WDW in March.

Hi John, no, not out of MSP anymore. We used to but it adds a night on one end or the other and it adds 4+ hours each way plus airport parking fees......
I actually don't mind the stops and figure that's the price we pay for a less expensive flight. LOL

We're looking to fly out of Hibbing and if need be we'll do Duluth. We've got time to wait though so that's what I'm gonna do! Thanks for your input. :)
