We are trying to decided if we what to travel in November or Jan. Does anyone know when flights from Buffalo are cheaper?

Flights with Southwest were $69.00 then $89.00 and today are $79.00 in November. If you use a SW Coupon for $25.00 discount on a round trip ticket it brings the oneway down to $66.00. Total return for nonstop flight from Buffalo is $152.53. Sure beats flying out of Pearson hands down!

If booking 4 people you only need the 1 coupon and save $100.00 total. SW is only booking flights up to Jan 8th currently. Few $89.00 flights in Jan.

Not sure about flights, but you may want to take into consideration what is being shut down for maintenance in January at WDW. Seems like Disney likes to use that month to shut down some of their major rides (Splash Mountain for one was shut down in January in previous years, which happened to be our gdaughter's MOST favorite ride in all of WDW and to say she would be disappointed if that happened during one of our visits would be a definate understatement!).

Also, what time in November were you looking to go? Christmas decorations start going up right after Thanksgiving.

I think there is a link on allears (or is it mousesavers?) that has a listing of the refurbishments scheduled.

November fares for Buffalo have been out for a while now....right now the cheapest seems to be 89$ although in the last couple of weeks there have been some 69$...if you find the fares "higher" for the flight you want, it means others have booked the lower fare "buckets" already

As far as January goes, the schedule now goes to January 7th, with the next release coming out August 17 which will then extend the schedule into march if not mistaken ( when the fares came out for the last "cycle" they were 109 each way on the first day, but we have been able to nudge some of them down to 89$ and thus have some credits now )

they used to offer three ( 3 ) non stops to orlando on SW, but now only it seems they only offer two, as such more demand for fewer non stop seats, it might be wise to book flights the day the schedule opens and hope for a fare reduction ( SW makes it easy to change to lower fares with no cost, but you get Ticketless Travel Funds to be used for future travel )

on a side note, USA today said they have reduced flights into and out of Las Vegas by 1600 seats...thus SW does keep a finger on the pulse of "travellers" and "flight loadings"

but, now to throw another stick in the the mixture, as of February 2011, the Ticketless Funds can only be used to book another flight for the person (s) name (s) on the original booking. In the past, you were able to give these to others if you were not going to use them. If you do not travel SW a lot, the Ticketless Funds may then expire on you. They are good for one year from the date of the original booking.

is share florida still issuing the invites?

if what we experienced trying to get codes is any indication, some got them others did not...we never did get them directly from southwest

if not the code might be hard to find and there are blackout dates in November ( like the 22nd through Thanksgiving )

most of the "saved" codes were probably dumped on July 31 since the promotion was suppost to end August 1, but some have posted the "code" box is still accepting them

Yes you can still get a code and if you received one prior to Aug 1st they are still valid.

Ditto pp who mentioned lots of refurbs in January. Plus there's more of a chance of a really cold snap in january. We were there Jan 1-6 one year and it was FREEZING!!! All the carts had gloves, scarves and hats, and the stores couldn't keep sweatshirts in supply!! Thankfully, having flown down from NH we had our winter coats! :)

Ah Yes there are others terms now :

Purchase must be made between April 1, 2010 and September 30, 2010 for travel June 1, 2010 through December 1, 2010.
Blackout dates apply July 1, 2010 through July 5, 2010, September 2, 2010 through September 7, 2010, and November 22, 2010 through November 29, 2010. If any portion of travel falls on a blackout date, the discount will not apply.

Jan is one of the slowest times in the park so you are most likly to runs into ride rehabs, but also park deals that could negate paying extra airfare.

It did get cold last year but that shouldn't concern you it was a record setting anomoly.

You won't get Christmas decoration like you could in Nov.
