but now we need a minivan......oh how |I love the buses.

we are going from wdw to vero so we need a mini van. 4 people with 4 suitcases and two umbrella strollers.

by far the best rate I have found is 408 tax included with a city special with dollar. my dates are Sept 22-oct 1 am I doing something wrong? I booked it but it sounds really high to me. I am both a caa and costco member but nither site has a mini van option. If someone has it in them to help yet one more lost soul on the dis I would be ever so gratefull.

I have been to mousesavers but I am really confused...can you use any code or do they need proof of something when you pick up the vehicle? i have never rented before

Your rate isn't sounding bad, 8 days for a minivan may not be cheap because of the length of time or the van.

You may trying two small cars and see if it makes a difference.

two cars works out to about the same price but double the gas. Thanks for the idea I never thought of it.

Anyone else have any great codes for budget or any other ideas on how to reduce rate.?

I could get car at wdw on 24th instead of 22 but the mco is only location I can get a van from and I DON't want to go back to airport on the 24th to get it.

I am fine with getting it at the airport onthe 22 but there has to be a better rate?

It is hard to get a good rate on minivans at MCO as they are in high demand with all of the families flying in to go to Disney and/or Universal.

I say keep watching the price but don't count on getting it too much cheaper. Are you sure you can't get a full sized car instead of a mini-van? We have a full sized car at home and can get everyone/everything in it that you mentioned.

As for this....some of the codes you need a coupon or proof of eligibility. Other codes are public codes and you don't need proof of anything. Mousesavers is pretty good about clarifying what you need or don't need for each of their listed codes.

If you don't have to pay a deposit, use a credit card to hold it, or pay for it up front in any way, why don't you reserve the van and continue looking. Then, if you find something at a better rate, you can book that, then cancel the van. If not, at least you have the van at this rate and not a higher one!

I'm thinking it's probably a combination of the vehicle class (van) and the number of days. You probably have a decent rate for the week, but have to pay a daily rate for the remaining days. Just a guess...

I agree a full sized (Impala or so) should fit 4 people + 4 suitcases + two strollers. And it'll get bbetter gas mileage than a minivan too.
