DISmoms Round TWO! Don't Axe, Don't Tell!! 4/30-5/4/10 updates 9/17

Thank you! I'll be working at Macy's in Woodbridge. It's an on call position so I won't be getting a lot of hours until 4th quarter but it's a foot in the door (and good discounts! ). We are lucky that we can go places most times of year. The only time we can't go anywhere is from Thanksgiving to mid January. Can't wait to read the trip reports that will be upcoming from you as well as the rest of this one!

Another Dis meet! Very cool even with the fuzzy pic.

Cool! I used to work at Bamberger's in Menlo- which is now Macy's. It was my first job after college- I was the manager of Domestics- which was REALLY difficult, because it was hard goods- all the sheets, pillows, bedding....I had a HUGE stockroom to manage that was ACROSS A STREET and a second one in the building!!! :scared1: Good Lord, I HATED that job!! :rotfl: But working there as a sales person would be great- just don't sign up to manage the comforters!! :rotfl:

I had to go back and make sure I didn't misunderstand! :rotfl2:

:rotfl2:

:rotfl2:I'm the one on the right.....no, the left....no, the right......:rotfl2:
085.jpg

There I am, on the left....getting my big ole butt kicked by the ever competitive Cammie!!!:rotfl:

:lmao: That was really funny, Joan!

Hi Ladies! Your meal at Narcossee's looks fab! :thumbsup2 I'm not sure if I could deal with all the rich sauces, either. I love the idea of sitting out on the deck to view the ELP and Wishes, though.

Ellen!!! Love the RCL tour - thanks! I'm getting really excited for mine in Oct. My Regional VP got booked in a balcony - not bad for FREE!!! Our is midship ocean view, which I'm happy with - especially cuz they'll share their balcony! I will be sure to take lots of pics. I'm excited for your upcoming trips!!! You should write a travel column!

What's with all those people jumping in to your castle shots?:confused3 They should have cleared main street for the DIS moms!

I'll write a travel column!! Who wants to pay me to do THAT dream job??:rotfl:

So which ship are you on for your cruise? Where does it go? It is exciting- I LOVE to cruise, I feel like that is the only vacation where a Mom gets a true vacation just like everyone else.

Awwww it was so nice to finally meet you too Ellen!! I can tell from the short time I spent with all of you that your days together must have been a blast! Your energy and love of all beverages to be found are inspiring!! :worship: I am sure we will meet again and again....as I told MEK we have our Kool-Aid contracts until the year 2057 or so :rotfl2: Oh and that ride on SW I don't think I have ever held my breath that long :rotfl: Wow I really had my game face on in BL!!! I am uber competitive!!

Kara--- BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL HOME!!! :goodvibes Love all of your color on your walls and your shower reminds me of the one bedroom at Kidani!! I am such a wimp when it comes to color on my walls :sad2: I end up using a lot of accents instead.

And Ellen again.....wow with the trips!! I knew you were going to book a cruise on that ship!! How could you resist?!! No airfare to worry about! Where does it sail...maybe you mentioned it before?

Tracy

Oh MAN it was tight on that ride!! :crowded: I'm glad we all squished in together, tho- I can still see your face when you were making the snap decision on whether or not to join me in the car! :rotfl: So funny.

The cruise goes to Bermuda (which is really where I wanted to go- but RCI only does a 5 night to Bermuda, and that's not long enough....plus, this 9 night cruise was $1100 more- that's it. So....a no-brainer). Then St Marteen, St Thomas and San Juan, Puerto Rico. So, all places I haven't been to, other than St Thomas that we always fly to to get to ST John. Have to decide if we'll go to STJ that day or stay on STT- maybe we'll book a day with our friend, Thomas.....

Loved the redneck shots of Buzz !!!:lmao:

Ellen how do you apply for the college program !! My bosses son starats college next month and he is going for ANIMATION !!!!

Mornin Rosie! I have no idea how to apply for the college program, but if I wanted to learn about it I would ask around on the College Board forum on this website.:thumbsup2

I can't BELIEVE you missed my show!!! :scared1: :rotfl2: So frustrating when you miss a meet by minutes....

Yes, be sad. Be very sad. It was oh so memorable. <said with the Buehler, Buehler, Buehler voice.....> ;)

Tracy

Color? This is what I did to it this weekend.

I was looking for a smidge darker with more gold. This had a green tint to it, but I really like it! Totally out of my comfort zone with this. I'm usually a beige gal in living areas, and then colorful in bedrooms.

I did it to surprise Jeff while he was out of town. He went to California and played Pebble Beach, Spyglass and Spanish Bay. Plus he spent time in San Fran and LA. I'll post pics later - he just got home last night and I just downloaded pics!

Well, it was already Monday morning- this weekend goes waaaaay too fast. I think we need 5 nights. Just sayin...Well, we were all kind of doing our own thing this morning- Pam was going to MK for park opening (Pam is a VERY early riser, 5:30 am early, so going to park opening was no biggie for her. For the rest of us...it's just not happenin! :rotfl:), Kara was meeting a friend in EPCOT, Cammie was....I forget what she was doing, maybe she could fill us in, and Joan & I were going to EPCOT to check out the Flower & Garden Festival. But first, i had a yummy delicious yogurt parfait from the Marketplace. Have you ever had one? This has been my FAVORITE breakfast at WDW for YEARS- we always stayed at the BC before we owned DVC, and I got a little addicted to them way back when. I like mine with blueberries, chocolate chips and granola, but you can get a mix of any berries they have. I like it so much, I make it at home in a low calorie version with greek non-fat plain yogurt, blueberries and low fat granola almost everyday....but that granola at the BC is soooooo delish!! YUMMMMM....I'll post a pic from my last morning of it later...anyway, it was another HOT, but beautiful day.

2010_0504dismoms20100127.jpg

Again, I have to say, I love, love, LOVE walking to EPCOT from BCV...we were there in minutes. Soon we saw-

2010_0504dismoms20100130.jpg

Who were very entertaining. We didn't stay there for long, though, because we were headed for Joan's FAVORITE ride, SOARIN! On the way, we passed by-

2010_0504dismoms20100132.jpg

2010_0504dismoms20100133.jpg

I LOVE those little guys!! They are the cutest!!

2010_0504dismoms20100135.jpg

The wait for Soarin was 30 minutes or so, and grabbed FPs for later, so we hopped on the stand-by line. I actually have never seen all the games and stuff going on over here, because we are always in the FP line...so I really enjoyed seeing what there was to pass the time over here. Very cool!

2010_0504dismoms20100140.jpg

2010_0504dismoms20100142.jpg

There were some VERY obnoxious, VERY unmonitored kids in line ahead of us, I was so glad when we were through the line. HELLOOOOO!!! MR & MRS I FORGOT I HAVE KIDS AT DISNEY!!!! WATCH YOUR FREAKIN KIDS!!!!:sad2: THE REST OF US ARE NOT ENJOYING GETTING SHOVED BY THEM WHILE WE WAIT IN LINE!!!!

It's PUDDY time!!

2010_0504dismoms20100145.jpg

It was a great, breathtaking ride as always. From there, we went over to Club Cool, because my friend Joanie had a date with a little lady named Beverly....although, because of my TRs, she already KNEW something was up, but it's still fun to see the reaction!

Hey Mikey!

2010_0504dismoms20100149.jpg

She LIKES it!!

2010_0504dismoms20100150.jpg

Proving, once again, that Joanie will drink ANYTHING! :rotfl: We did some shopping in Club Cool (for my cousin Sheree who is a Coke (acola) addict). Next, we went to visit the fairies and butterflies. We adored this garden, and especially all the little touches, like the fairy houses and other fairy accoutrements.

But I did do it in February and enjoyed it !!!

Here are a few pics of the new house. It's taken some time but we are pretty well settled in now. In fact, I spent all weekend painting the breakfast room, kitchen, and keeping room. It's a deep gold color - very pretty!

Did I miss the photo of the guest room? You know now that we have seen your beautiful home we are all making plans for a visit. :lmao:

Just another Dismom follower...

I've travelled a lot domestically and the only parts of this country I haven't seen are New England and the Pacific Northwest. I know where I want to go next........

:rotfl: Oh dear lady, you are funny one. I would love to sleep in that room. It is gorgeous. Let me see, our worst weather month is February and the worst month in the Southeast is- July? So maybe I should visit you in February and you can visit me in July. Oh heck, that would not work. My chair would have a fit if I took off mid-semester... I can dream though.

I think this was my favorite day of the whole trip! I loved every part of it!

Even though Pam was long gone, rope dropping all all, the rest of us lounged around in the morning. I think Cammie went to the pool? I got a call from a guy I used to work with in SC, and he and his wife were spending the day in Epcot, while visiting some friends in Orlando. Well, you don't need to twist MY arm to go to Epcot!!!!

So I said farewell to the gals, au revoir, adios, etc (well, I WAS heading to World Showcase, after all....) and began my stroll over to Epcot.

I walked through WS and did some window shopping, grabbed about 117 bottles of water - it was SOOOOO hot this day!!!!

Finally met up with my friend while they were in line for Universe of Energy and spent about 3 whole minutes with them before they were moving again!!!

But all was good. I got to spend some ME time with Epcot. Two of my favorite things - ME and Epcot!

Mornin rosie! I really like Dolphins, too- I thought the way they did those topiaries was REALLY gorgeous. Last year or the year before they had a Polar Bear, I think, as a display promoting the first movie in the series. It was really something, too.

And I had no idea about King Albert- although I did watch the movie about Victoria, and loved it. Fascinating history!

It's my favorite park, too. Lucky you going to F&G twice in one year- and I was thinking about you this morning, because you were saying how fortunate I am to take these wonderful vacations. Well...YOU TOO!! Aren't you going on the member cruise this year? :worship: :worship: I want to both that one and the Podcast cruise sometime....:)

KARA- those pics of Pebble are awesome- One day Pods will go- not sure if I'll ever be a good enough golfer to go myself!

Your house really looks great, i LOVE color on the walls- I don't think I have one room in my house that ISN'T a color- wait- my basement (aka- the DUNGEON) where the boys hibernate. :sad2: Just beige down there. Everywhere else is a world of COLOR! Love it!!

It's funny how we were both at the Ditch that day....we must have passed each other on the way in and out. You were right- it was HOT that day!!

Ok- on to the GF.....princess:princess:princess:princess:princess:
