Which cars are Fullsize?

I'm looking for help from all the people on WDW's side of the pond.

I'm hiring a fullsize car from Hertz at Orlando International (MCO). Their website says Chevrolet Impala or Similar. What other cars fall into the 'fullsize' category?

I'm scared :scared1: that the person at the rental desk will hear my accent and try to pass off an intermediate car on me.

Thanks in advance

Rental car companies always talk up the size of thier cars. A full size sedan, is an Toyota avalon or Cadillac Deville, ford crown victoria.

The Camry is a good expample of how car comanies use thier own scale and call what everyone else considers a midsize a full size.

I think Hertz rents the Avalon and if not the crown vic then the Mercury Grand Marquis. As thier full size cars.

Gee I thought a Camry was a full size. It seemed big to us anyway. I never thought to question it because it comfortably fit us and all our luggage. I thought the Avalon would be premium or whatever they call it.

lol, i'm causing more questions than answers.

I hope the person at the Hertz desk gives me a Chevrolet Impala, Toyota avalon, Cadillac Deville, Ford Crown Victoria or Mercury Grand Marquis.

I don't want an argument after nearly 9 hours on a plane.

Thanks for all your answers :thumbsup2

See you in WDW next week :woohoo:

I agree that a camery is a mid-size car since my parents have one. Yes they are roomy but nowhere near the size of a full-size.

Like it's been repeated in here each car company has a different way to categorize their vehicles. Take a look at the SUV categories for some companies. Alamo for example has a equinox as a standard SUV which I think would actually be a mid-size and a explorer / jeep is a standard suv, a Escape as a mid-size SUV and don't even look at the crossover category.

The cars above are NOT full size cars in ANY rental car fleet. They are preimum. The Camry is generally a full size to a rental car company.

Hertz does rent Avalons and Grand Marquis, but you won't get them with a full size reservation.

Just to give another comparison. I am driving a Jetta right now. National says it's a midsize. (It's a nice car, but not big)

That is correct. I rented a Mercury Grand Marquis at DFW as a premium through Budget.
