I like trip reports with colour, humor and pictures and I promise to Deliver

I will start this trip report with an explaination of the title. Its simple I could not think of anything catchy or mildly interesting so I Googled Disney quotes and came up with a Quote from the King of Hearts from Alice in wonderland
"Begin at the beginning and go on till you come the the end: Then Stop it made sense and it works an therefore had a title. I have been wanting to start a Pretrip report for a few months but lacked a title until now and here we are!

So where to start?? Hmm lets start at the Who, move on the the when and then get really detailed on the how's and what's

I have always prefered Reports that have links to Chapters it is easier to read so I am going to play with that

Who is "we"?

Me= Harlie a wife, a mom, a step-mom, a daughter and a Daughter-in-law (side note if the plural of cul du sac is culs su sac soes that make the plural of daughter in law, daughters in law?) I have a Love of Disney I was just born that way! I also Love the Harry Potter Movies and books Fave Disney Movie Pirates of the Carribean Animation: Beauty and the Beast masked character: Tigger faced character: Captian Jack Sparrow! I am the planner and I love details! I work in administrative type work and I am proud member of the Saskatchewan Roughrider Pep Band and Love me my Riders! Hugh Charles #21 is my Fave guy!! Go Green Go

Dh We will call him by his favorite charater Donald. A former farm boy turned comuter geek also lover of all things Disney (I snagged me a goodone! His fave character is Donald, and goofy and grumpy!

DD10 We will call Alice She is our Dare Devil no pain no gain girl She loves rides, but she is a short stack at only 51 inches tall she can ride all Disney rides but not all the Universal Studios rides. I think she is just right she wishes she was a lot taller hence Alice. Alice is ADHD and spaces out a lot she is not hyper though...quite the opposite lol!

DSS10 We will call Goofy He loves Disney but rides are not his shtick, but being that he is 8 months youger then Alice and a lot taller he will ride anything she can not just to get her going He is smart and curious and talks and talks and talks and talks...A Lot! Which is good when you understand him but a sample Goofy sentence is `You know that thingy with the things at the place we went to one time with the things in front of the thing` yeah we get just as lost. He is also ADHD and really really hyper like bounce of the wall cant sit still for anything hyper lol!

DS5 Capn Jack. We often forget this kid is only five. He holds his own in our house and is very independant. He will be turning six on our trip. He LOVES Disney even the princess`s But Buzz and Woody are his heros. He is not ADHD but very busy and lippy! He is our little ladies man and holds girls token cups at Chuck E Cheeses while he rides with the girls haha (side note we don`t encourage this but it is funny)^

That is our family that was the plan until...We (and when I say we i really mean DH haha) decided to invite the MIL
s and they accepted Hence the title of the chapter What do you do with a Drunken MIL....you take them to Disney World (note neither are drunks I just like the song What do you do with a drunken sailor and in my sick twisted mind it somehow worked

So I will henceforth refer to them as Red Queen and White Queen

So When then

The original plan was when our yourgest was big enought to ride all the rides at disney but man it was taking tooooooo long! Donald and I went in Feb of 2009 and had a great time on a much delayed Honeymoon. We had all been to Disneyland in 2008 we really like February for Family vacay`s.

No a little family dynamic info, we are a blended family of his(DSS10) Mine(DD10) and ours (DS5) though we have our older two children 90% of the time we do not have them for most of the summer. they are with their other parents I really wanted to see WDW all decked out in either Halloween stuff of Christmas and the budget told us September if we want to see at least one. The good news is that Donald wants to go one Christmas so it will be in our future....sometime haha! We figured if we are going in Sept why not go around Capt Jacks 6th Birthday! So I booked originally with a 30% off code to a Moderate (POR) Then the MIL`s were invited and we moved to Pop So 7 people total 2 rooms at Pop from Sept 20th and Check out Sept 28th to them Check in at Holiday Inn Express at Universal Studios for two nights and return home on the 30th Sonds great rightÉ

Well getting flights from our great city was $$$$$$$ it was stupid so we decided to drive to Minneapolis and fly out to Orlando with Southwest so we have to drive to Minneapolis (12 hour Drive) find a park and fly hotel for 10 nights. So we Drive out on the 19th Fly down on the 20th fly back on the 30th and drive home on the first! It will be great! 9have I mentioned I have sarcasm problems I mean the Disney part will be great! lol!

With Goofy and Alice gone to their other parents for the summer it has left poor capt Jack lost and lonely. So what better way to cure it then a trip to the beach with a buddy!


The weather was perfect...not too hot, not too windy, we had to stop by grandma's house to pick up the beach toys, Wal-mart for a beach blanket (apparently we didn't have one). Stop for lunch on the way out of town and off we go to the beach.

The kids foun a little snake and tormented it errr played with it errr set it free in the bushes haha...poor snake. It was a good time and we stopped for ice cream before heading home and it was great!

So the plan originally was the kids knew we were going to WDW on Vacation but didn't know when. This was until they decided it would be fun to take metal BBQ skewers and throw them at a pyramid of stacked cans of tomatoes! Yup you read that right Where they came up with that idea is beyond me and I think the conversation that got this little party started would have made a great scene in a Dumb and Dumber Sequeal . It was all fun and games except that the stack of cans was on the counter in front of the kitchen window...you see where this is going don't you? Yup BBq skewers right through the window as well as damage to our new kitchen cupboards, backsplash and floor yup we were very angry and disappointed. So we spilt the beans that were were going to wdw in June after school was out (which was not true) so now they believe that WDW will not be in their near future or EVER! They also had to work off the damage they caused by picking up trash and yard work and other chores.

So the plan is we will pack without them knowing Then After we put them to bed on the 18th We will load up the Van Pick Up MIL's stuff and load it too. Leave at 5am Drive 13 hours to Minneapolis and have Supper at White Castle (this I think will make an excellent Trip report title Harlie and Donald take the kids to White Castle ) get to our park n'fly hotel I believe Donald booked the Ramada It had the best price and longest parking timewhich is important because we need at least 10 days.

Our Flight leaves @ 7:55am (Does anyone know what time we have to be at the airport?) and we arrive in Orlando @ 1:25pm. My mom's flight arrives 20 minutes before ours. her flight leaves the night before as she is flying in from Vancouver.

Our flight has a stopover in chicago so as the plan for keep disney on the Downlow is to tell them nothing when they ask we will come up with funny things on the fly like "where are we going mommy?" Me:"Crazy and your driving me there"

We are unsure if the kids will pick up on Orlando is where Disney is so the plan is to meet up with my mom and if they haven't figured it out by then My mom with tell them lol!

We are staying at Pop in two rooms and we are Free dining folks but we upgraded to Deluxe!

So where I last left off was My Mom (RedQueen) surprizing the kids by meeting us at the MCO airport and if they haven't figured out we are going to WDW yet she would surprize them with that too. After we all meet up at the ME we take the bus to POP Check in and head straight out to Downtown Disney for lunch at Earl of Sandwich! We will all be Very hungry as we will not have eaten since 5 am and it will be at least 2:30pm before we even get to our resort!

After we eat we will explore DTD and we definatly will check out the Lego Store and a Store I fell in love with on our Disneymoon Basin. Last time there I spent all my spending more there and had no regrets lol

Re have an ADR at Raglan Road at 8:30 pm once done we will head back to POP and go swimming and unpack!

Hi all If you are reading Please let me know say hi! I don't bite! I also don't care for fava beans or Chianti, Im more of a pinot grigio kind of gal!

So I changed my title hoping it make my report sound more interesting. My thought was that could be the problem with the lack of traffic and feedback on my thread sooo we will see. I am beginning to think I am a boring reporter

The story behind it is in an earlier post, but I will retell the plan here:

We are planning this trip as a surprize. The kids originally knew we were going, they just didn't know when we were going. Until they played a fun and fast game of Javelin with the BBQ skewers at a stack of tomato cans completely missing the cans and hit and make memerable marks in our newly reno kitchen until the skewer found its way through our newer kitchen window. In a rage of fury DH told the kids no disney (but why punish me?) so I came up with the brilliant plan to tell them that we had secret reservation in June that we were going to cancel now and we were not going for at least five years! They bought it! The plan the whole time has been to go in September and that is when we did have resevations to go!

In the mean while they know every other year we go on a vacation. So we told them that we are going to White Castle this year. Which isn't a lie we do plan to hit up a white castle once we get into Minneapolis lol! We just happen to be going to another much cooler castle too lol

I am starting to wish I had taken more pictures on our Disneymoon last year. I could add them to this report make it more visual lol!

It is soooo wonderful. We have a local store here that is franchising out west calle Bath Goddess I love that store too! I swear I am going to have some many embarrassing stories for their wedding day lol!

Sept 21st

Today We will be going to epcot Our top 5 things on our agenda are:

1. Living with the land
2. Test Track
3. Soarin
4. Turtle Talk with Crush
5. Club Cool to torture our kids with Beverly haha

We will start our day with an ADR Breakfast at 7:40am at Kona MMMM I Love those Macadamia Nut Pancakes!
We have a supper ADR at 4:45 at 1900 Park Fare MMMM Strawberry Soup!

We have been considering going to Mickey's Not so Scary Halloween Party Red Queen and White Queen will probally head back to Epcot. My main concern is I really don't want to haul a bunch of costumes If we don't we will go back to Epcot and watch Illuminations at 9pm

I am not sure what would work best I do know I need to figure it out asap to buy the tickets for the party...any advice?



On a side note I attempted a yard sale today but I was hailed out lol! And even better my DD Alice is home for the day She has an appointment with her ADHD Doctor today! We haven't seen her since the beginning of the month so it was a nice treat! She comes home for good August 21st! I miss that kid when she is gone!

I went shopping yesterday and found a pair of shorts Now warning rant: I have an odd body shape Im tiny up top and very "hippy" as Donald likes to call me. I have large thighs and a tiny waist so when I buy pants and shorts I have to get them to fit my legs and have the waist taken in It is pricy and annoying and hard to find a seamstress to do this right! I can't seen to do this for myself though I can sew. so I found a pair of brumuda style shorts that I really like but they only had one colour and one of my size (I totally would have bought two if they had them lol!) These shorts are a bit big in the waist but it is tollerable!


I also Found three cute tops all perfect for disney! I need to find more shorts though It is too hard for me to shop on line without the ablity to try the clothes. I may post pictures if i am asked nicely

I have a friend who is hoping/planning on going in 2012 for a marathon. The training for the full marathon is a full year and starts in January.

We weren't supposed to go until 2014 but we managed to get the money together sooner then we thought so we bumped it up a bit...well a lot lol!

Sept 22nd

Today we will spend the day at Animal Kingdom!

We can totally make this an all day park I know Donald could spend all day at Maharajah Jungle Trek, and I am pretty sure Alice could too if there weren't any rides to lure her away lol

Our top 5 is hard to pick but they are:

1. Expedition Everest - For capt Jacks first ever Roller coaster ride! We measured him and he is now 45"!!!
2. Kali River Rapids
3. Kilmanjaro Safari
4.Fesival of the Lion King
5. Maharajaro Jungle Trek

We start the day with a healthy Breakfast at Tuskar house @ 8:10 am and we will have a late lunch @ Yak and Yeti Donald and I went here on our disney moon and Loved it! This park has EMH this evening and we plan on staying awhile, but we have a supper ADR at the Yachtmans Steakhouse @ 8:15

So this day will be a really long day! I don't know how people can do this park in half a day, but I admit we are big time animal Lovers and the only thing that doesn't interest us in this park is Primeval Whirl.
