Once Upon a Christmastime! A Nov. 2010 PTR! *Update 12/12, Disney Blues, pg 61! :( *

Thanks! Did you get the DVD's yet? I have to go walking with my friend in a few minutes, so I can't watch any more of them yet, but as soon as I get back, I'm watching some of them! :cool1:

No; I didn't order them until Father's Day. I knew we wouldn't have time to watch them with all of Mark's umpping of baseball games; this way they will arrive for when we are home while he is recuperating from his surgery next month.

I am the exact same as you- I have sooo many purple clothes! :rotfl: I think the Tink shirt was a great idea. I want to wear all Disney shirts when I go, too! I definitely need to get some new ones! I am so close to that 180 day mark! :yay:

We used to have a regular Disney Store in the mall five minutes from my house. My sister worked there and the discount she got was awesome, but they closed it down. But since the other store is an outlet it's still pretty cheap, so I try to make the trip out there every now and again.

I LOVE purple clothes...I would wear purple every day if I could, but I think that would be weird...I hope the Tink shirt was a good idea, but I really don't know about it being white! :scared1: I just picture myself walking into MK and getting my citrus swirl dole whip all over it or something! :confused3 :rotfl:

I wish we had a Disney outlet! We have one Disney store here and it's in a mall that's an hour away! I should try to find a Disney outlet, I bet there's one in NY somewhere! I don't get why they closed so many Disney stores, it's very upsetting! It must have been nice to have your sister work there and get a discount!

popcorn:: joining in popcorn::

Yay, welcome (the smiley welcome isn't working for some reason, sorry!) :cool1:!

all caught up & I LOVE that shirt!!!

I'm so happy you're back, I can't wait til you start your TR! :cool1:

Ohhh that's a good idea! I started watching the Disneyland DVD last night and I fell asleep right when they started the California Adventure part of it...I want to go to DL SOOOOO bad! Even more after watching the DVD! :yay:

I think a few of the DVD's are some of the same shows they have had on the Travel Channel...I know the Behind the Scenes one is, and probably the Disney Cruise. I'm going to watch the Disneyland one next, I'm kind of fascinated by Disneyland, I want to go there SO bad someday, but whenever I have a choice between WDW or DL, WDW always wins! :rotfl:

Oh, you have to go to Disneyland! I had always wanted to go but was afraid it would be "boring" compared to WDW. Well, I've been there 2 times now and absolutely love it. It's been a few years since we've been there and I am dying to go back. There's going to be a lot of new attractions there plus my one sister still has never been there. Every Disney fan should visit DL atleast once!

I know, I definitely have to go, I'm trying to figure out at time we can go for a long weekend! We were SO close to going to Disneyland for our honeymoon, but I kept thinking about going there instead of WDW and I would actually get depressed and cry about it. Pathetic, right?:rotfl: I mean, it got to the point where I would call my DH at work and cry to him about how I didn't know if I could NOT go to WDW and go to DL instead. Ridiculous. :rotfl2: I'm glad we ended up at WDW but now I'm seriously obsessed with Disneyland!

Cute shirt! It's definitely not too early to start shopping! That will just help to pass the time, right?! :goodvibes And I have got to get one of those Parks DVD's - I've seen them in so many PTR's now!

Hey Jen! Now there's a name I'll never forget :rotfl: I'm joining in! Lots to comment on so here goes:

Chefs de France is just okay. When I ate there our server was new and was practically green with nerves. Seriously. She looked like she was so nervous that she'd puke at any moment! Plus her English wasn't so great yet. Poor girl.

O'hana.... I can take it or leave it. I ate breakfast there on our last trip and really... I gotta agree with you on the whole family style thing. It's just not for me. I much prefer the grand layout of the buffet (like at CP) and choose my food that way. If I had to make a choice though, I'd go with O'hana. The rest of your ADRs look great! A little jealous you got Le Cellier since it's not available at ALL for my dates.

If you cried during TS2 you will DEFINITELY cry during TS3. Oh my goodness, what a wild emotional roller coaster that movie is! Have you seen it yet? If not, GO NOW. RIGHT NOW. WHY HAVEN'T YOU LEFT YET?!

Lol, yeah, I'm trying to think of things I can do for my trip because I'm so anxious, but there's really nothing right now because it's still so far away! The only thing to do is shop! :rotfl:

Definitely get the parks DVD's! I've heard they have them at Sam's Club, which I don't belong to, so I tried Costco and they didn't have them. I got them from Amazon and they were around $25! For 6 DVD's!

Hey, :welcome:! Glad you're here!

I'm not really sure what to expect from Chef's, but it looks so nice and I've always wanted to try it, so why not? I read horrible things about Tony's and I still tried that and liked it, so I'm guessing Chef's will be ok! That's funny about your server...poor thing! :rotfl:

I'm still not sure if I'm going to keep Ohana. I have to ask my DH what he wants to do. I'm not sure if going there before the Christmas party is such a great idea. :confused3 I'm thinking it might take more time than I would like it to, so I might just go back to Kona. I don't know! So indecisive! :rotfl2:

I just saw TS3 today! I'm going to talk about it in my next update! :cool1:

Hey guys! I'm sorry I haven't updated lately. I was SO excited to start this PTR because I wanted to talk about all my plans and everything, but now I realize, if I do all of that now, what will we talk about for the next 4 months? :rotfl: So I'm trying to go slowly for now!

So I finally saw Toy Story 3 today...and I LOVED it! :lovestruc It is the best Toy Story without question! I love how it makes you laugh, it makes you cry, there's actually suspense in there where you wonder if it's all going to work out...I won't give anything away in case there are some of you who haven't seen it yet, but seriously, go see it! :rotfl: I'm already thinking of a way I can convince my DH to go again, it's that good!

And this means, my mission is accomplished! If you read my TR from my honeymoon, you will remember that my DH has not let me go on TSM ever. 3 trips and I haven't been on TSM. Our latest trip was especially annoying because there was only a 20 minute wait! And he didn't want to wait!

So I decided I'd get him hooked on the TS movies and then he would want to try the ride! And it worked! He liked each movie better than the last so I finally said to him "we can go on the Toy Story ride at MGM now right"? And of course, he said yes! I can't wait, I'm seriously going to have to get there first thing in the morning and power walk over there, since they don't let you run! :rotfl:

In other news, part of my PTR was supposed to be about tracking my weight loss, which, I'm not even sure I put in the intro. :confused3 But don't worry. There has been none of that. :( I've been trying but it's been kind of a pathetic attempt, I'll eat better during the day at work then I get home and do awful. And I thought I was doing great exercising when really all I did was go for a few walks this week. And I get on the scale today and expect some great results and I'm one pound lighter. Which is nothing, considering how much I need to lose. :sad1: So I'm definitely discouraged today. I feel like being this size is holding me back from doing everything I want to do lately. I don't even want to leave the house anymore, I feel like that's all anyone sees, is that I'm overweight. :( I don't want to be this way anymore but I seriously cannot find my motivation and I don't get it! It's never been this hard for me to start a weight loss program! :scared1:

I'm hoping by Monday I will find my motivation and start weight watchers and REALLY start losing a good amount of weight. Because I need to lose a lot by November 13! I refuse to go back to Disney looking and feeling the way I do! It's just so hard for me lately, I'm so tired when I get home from work, and since it's been so hot lately, the last thing I want to do is exercise!

If anyone has any tips or tricks to help me get motivated, I'd really love it, I'm at such a loss right now! :) I'm running out of time-4 months, 2 weeks and 4 days til I go back to Disney! :cool1:

I am so ready to see TS3!!!! You will LOVE TSM!!! It was awesome! Even Ben loved it! You will read about that later in my TR.

As far as weight loss goes, don't give up hope! I am like you, I saw the pics from Disney & I look HUGE!!!! I didn't even want to post them & if I was able to crop out the gut, I did it! I felt like that's all anyone saw while I was there too! Just know you are not alone!

Maybe do a Disney countdown chain, but on the inside of it, put exercise things in it, like "don't forget to do my walk today!" or something like that!

I can't wait to see Toy Story 3! I think my sister and I are going to go see it Monday. I love the other two movies and I love TSM so I know I will love it! :lovestruc I got The TSM game for the Wii for Christmas and I play that thing all the time. That's how I get my practice so I can beat DH when we go to DHS! :rotfl:

I'm sorry that you are having a hard time with your weight loss. Getting started is always the hardest part, I think. But once you have been at it and start seeing some results then you will be even more motivated! Just remember that you are beautiful no matter what! I think that having your trip as your goal is great because it is an actual "finish line" with a great reward at the end! I love Joni's idea about making a countdown chain with fitness reminders. That is a great idea. And I know you said that you want to wear all Disney shirts when you go, so what if you told yourself, "for every _ number of pounds I lose, I can get a new Disney shirt!" That will give you even more motivation!

We are here to support you every step of the way!

LOVE this idea!!!! And yes, I totally agree with Joni, we are here for you 100%!!!!!:grouphug:

I hear you on the weight loss - staying motivated is so hard. I started doing the South Beach diet back in October and I've actually just hit the 40 pound mark. :woohoo: I'd still like to lose about 20 more pounds though before I go wedding dress shopping in October, but I feel like time is just creeping up on me. When I started the diet I was only working part time so it was easy to get to the gym. Now that I work full time it's so hard. My weight loss has definitely slowed down a lot and I'm worried it will stop all together if I don't get my butt back in gear!

As for motivation, I like to remind myself that weight loss is a war, and that everyday is a new battle. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. There are bad days and good days, but that a single "battle" can't make you lose the whole war. How's that for a metaphor! :lmao: Seriously though, we can all keep each other motivated! :goodvibes

OMG you are going to LOVE TS3!!! It's SOOOO good! Probably one of the best movies ever! Hope you guys get to go see it soon! :)

That's why I don't have a lot of pictures of myself from our Disney trips because I feel like I look huge so I don't even bother! I mean, there are a few that are ok because of the way I angled myself, but mostly, they are all awful! And I just got my wedding pictures a few weeks ago...ugh! Horrible! If I can find a few decent ones I will post some but really, they are horrendous! :confused3

However, I thought you looked great in your pictures! :cool1: I'm glad I'm not the only one feeling like that's all people see, I mean, it's a horrible feeling, but I'm glad I'm not alone! The chain is a great idea! Isn't there a place on the DIS where you can print out links for a chain? :surfweb:

I can't wait to see Toy Story 3! I think my sister and I are going to go see it Monday. Like I just said, TS3 is SOOOOO good!!! I can't wait for you to see it, it's just so great! I should get the game, DH and I were just given a Wii! Is it just like TSM? I should practice since I've never been on TSM and I can beat my DH!

The countdown chain is a great idea, I've been trying to think of something to do for a countdown and a chain with fitness reminders would be cute! Although I have something like 140 days left so it would be a HUGE chain! :rotfl:

I love your idea about getting a new Disney shirt for every certain # of pounds I lose! I think I will definitely do that! I'll start with 5 pounds, just to get motivated! Once I start, I usually lose weight pretty fast the first few weeks, then it slows down, but it's just so hard to get started!

I hear you on the weight loss - staying motivated is so hard. Wow congrats on losing 40 pounds! :cheer2: That is what I'd like to lose for Disney, although if I could lose 50 I'd be ecstatic! I have to lose about 80 all together but I know that's not possible by November...so I will be happy with 40 for now! Do you like doing the South Beach diet? I tried it years ago and I couldn't get through the first week, I felt so sick because you have to cut out carbs, it was awful!

It is so hard to find the time/motivation to exercise when working full time! I get home and the last thing I want to do is exercise! I think what I might have to do is get home from work and immediately exercise, because if I sit down and get settled, that's it, I'm finished for the night!

I like your outlook about weight loss being a war, that is really a great way to look at it! I just get so impatient and want to see results so quickly and when I don't I get frustrated and give up, but I have to remind myself that it's ok to have a bad day and not to give up! :)

Thank you, girls, for the support and the encouragement! :grouphug: I actually feel more motivated now after reading all of this, I'm actually looking forward to really getting started! I will keep you updated on what I'm doing and if I lose anything or not! :) Thanks again!!!

The TSM game for the Wii is a lot like the ride! I love it! And it's definitely good practice for the ride!

I think a new shirt for every 5 pounds is a great idea! And then after a while you will start needing those new shirts in smaller sizes, and you will be even more motivated! :thumbsup2

Thanks! :goodvibes It surprisingly hasn't been too bad. I've finally started to look at it as a lifestyle change more than a diet. So cliche, right?! But it's true. I'm a big fan of SB - it definitely works. The first two weeks are pretty miserable, but you lose so much weight. I think I lost close to 15 lbs my first two weeks. :woohoo: After that it's not bad. I like that it allows you to go out to eat without problems. You can always get meats, vegetables and salads at restaurants, or get sandwiches and just leave the bun off. A lot of places offer wheat bread now, so that helps too. :thumbsup2

Glad you liked Toy Story 3!

OMG I loved it!!!! I seriously want to go see it again sometime this weekend! I know it's kind of a waste of money, but it was that good!!! :cool1:

You can go here for the link to the chains, that's what I did: http://www.themouseforless.com/downloads/kids/chainlink.shtml

Thanks, I'll have to check that out! I don't know if I will do a chain right now, (I checked how many days I have...138. :scared1: That will be a looooong chain!) I might wait til I get to 90 days to make one!

The TSM game for the Wii is a lot like the ride! I love it! And it's definitely good practice for the ride!

I think a new shirt for every 5 pounds is a great idea! And then after a while you will start needing those new shirts in smaller sizes, and you will be even more motivated! :thumbsup2

Hmmm, maybe I will get that game! It will be nice to have something I can play instead of all of my DH's games that I don't have any interest in! :rotfl:

I never even thought of having to buy new sizes! That will be nice, I won't even care if I can't wear the bigger shirts and wasted money because, whatever, that means I will be smaller!!!

Thanks! :goodvibes It surprisingly hasn't been too bad. I've finally started to look at it as a lifestyle change more than a diet. So cliche, right?! But it's true. I definitely need to do that, not think of it as a diet, but as a lifestyle change but that is hard to do!!! Especially on weight watchers because you have to count points and everything.

I wish I could try the SB diet again, but I'm scared! :rotfl: I had such a hard time on it that first week, I wouldn't want to feel like that again! But the idea of losing 15 pounds in 2 weeks is tempting! Weight watchers has something like that, the Core plan, where you don't eat a lot of carbs except the good ones, and you don't have to count points, so maybe I'll give that a try! :)

I did pretty good today so far with eating, but exercising is just impossible in this heat! It's 90 degrees today and as humid as it is in Disney, so it feels like it's 100! I tried to do my elliptical but I was dripping sweat and only managed 10 minutes! Not very good, but at least it's something! And we have no AC in the room the elliptical is in so it's pretty awful!

I'm hoping I can convince my DH to take a walk tonight, but I'm guessing he won't want to! :confused3 :rotfl: I'll keep you all updated with how I'm doing, hopefully I will lose something this week! :cool1:

10 mins is a start!!!! Maybe do 10 mins for 1 week then increase it by 5 mins every week!!!

It's not that I can't do more than 10 minutes, it was the heat and humidity! It was awful, I was melting!!! Luckily, I convinced DH last night and tonight to go for a walk with me so that's been my exercise so far this week! Tomorrow is supposed to be nicer, not so hot, so I'll give the elliptical a try again! :)
