Here is the quick quote from the Honolulu Star Advertiser article.

Although a Disney spokesman wouldn't comment on any of the company's cruise itineraries beyond 2011, the state Department of Transportation confirmed that Disney has tentative bookings at Pier 2 in Honolulu Harbor in May and September of 2012.

Looks like it could be possible repo cruises at the beginning and end of the Alaska season. Cool!

Jen thanks for posting so the Wonder would do

Alaska in Summer.
Hawaii specials either side of that.
Some Mexican Rivera's.

As it has agreements with LA, assume the Hawaii ones are 12/14 nights out of LA.

They have been working on this for a few years, I thought it would be 2011, but regular info coming on this now.

Question is can they add Asia as well???-The only way I could see that is the Magic ie Panama> LA>Hawaii>Aisia and return. Tihs article says Wonder so looks like my first thoughts....

Wouldn't it be great if they would add New Zealand or Australia with a stop in Hawaii? Have always wanted to go there.

I would suspect the September date would leave from Vancouver and return to LA, if it's at the end of the Alaska season and DCL keeps Vancouver as a home port.

Hawaii on DCL! Two of my favourite things! I wonder if Mickey plays the ukelele--or if he leaves the uke to Stitch?

Down at the end of the article, there's another interesting tidbit:

"The Magic, which also has a capacity of 2,400 passengers, is moving from Florida to Europe next year."

I wonder if they meant 2012? The ship will move to Europe "next year" (2011) - for the summer.

Confirmation of the normal plan for the Magic in the summer, in Europe, but what area??

Med ports have been booked for some time now for 2010, 2011, 2012, but with a revamp in 2011 and sales falling a bit, I think, they will consider alternatives.

Winter months, when Fantasy arrives (Q2) maybe the plan out of Galveston.

My only problem with all of this is how to get enough money to go on all these cruises! I really want to do a med. trip now. Hawaii would be wonderful. We still have gone on a Western caribbean and then there's all the new ships. How do we fit it all in? lol.

If these are just repositioning cruises on either end of the Alaska season, they will likely be very popular and pricey - just as the Panama Canal cruises were in 2005 and 2008. I don't think I'll be lining up for this itinerary.

Boy that would be an out of the way stop from LA to Vancouver. They would really be burning a lot of fuel just to get from point A to point B.
Unless they are planning other Hawaiian stops, seems like they would be running the engines at full power for many extra days.

I am wondering if there is more to this story
