DISmoms Round TWO! Don't Axe, Don't Tell!! 4/30-5/4/10 updates 9/17

Great pictures of all of you!! :goodvibes
I think I have to disagree with Not Doug's Dad.....I have had conch in the Bahamas and was told the same as magicfor2...Bahamas and FL :confused3
Such good news on Sean and eating different foods.... this will open up a whole new world :goodvibes My stylist's son....I think he just turned 4...is autistic...doesn't have any of the sensory but he is also gluten and something else intolerant....So I see her last week and she asks me how this DVC thing works...I am wondering where that is coming from because she has never once mentioned an interest in going to Disney.... Her in-laws are South African and apparently quite well off. They bought them a membership at FW (I don't know why there as opposed to somewherenew....) and my estimation is probably around 220 points. :sad2: It made the time go by though because I just babbled about all she needs to do.:rolleyes1 She just better listen :rotfl2:

Nice picture of you all in front of the Holiday sign.

We like to sit at the bar at Fulton's too for drinks and appies. It is fun.

Have you ever tried Portobello? Wow! We tried that place in March and it was fantastic. We just stopped for a snack, four of us-all ordering something different and shared, and it was great. Can't wait to go there again.

So did you make it to RR? If so, was Hottie McHottness there?

I have not tried Portobelllo, but Pods has on a golf trip last year and they all hated it!! What did you eat? He actually disliked it so much he made me promise we would never eat there!! :scared1:

Today Sean ate a banana for breakfast along with his nutrigrain bars. :cheer2: And when I ask him, "What do you like best- hummus, pizza or pasta with meatballs?" His answer is pasta with meatballs- I can NOT believe it!!! :yay: :yay: :yay::yay: Your friend's son is probably also sensitive to casein- it's the protein in milk products. A very popular diet is a gluten free, casein free diet for autistic people. The belief is that those proteins are not broken down in the digestive system, and they then cause a ton of problems neurologically. We tried that diet years ago with Sean without success.

Very nice to have someone buy you the points as a gift- I wouldn't mind someone handing me a few hundred BLT or HHI points!! :worship:

Sorry to hear Pods didn't like Portobello. We had pizza, some fried cheese and rice balls - heaven -, a chicken sandwich of some kind and some shrimp thing. All was delicious. Plus the wine was really good. ;)

Well, that pesky food thingee was out of the way, but obviously the drinking was NOT! I switched to sauvignon blanc for the remainder of the night at Fulton's, and can I just say, that Not-Doug and his dad made sure my glass was never empty for long. I also called RR to cancel our ADR, since we all felt satisfied with what we had had at Fulton's (not to worry, that doesn't mean some of us won't be going there a little later anyways....) Joan & Kara were getting along like old friends, miserable as usual-

We got together and Tony took our picture several times... here's my version of our group pic, which I really, really love of all of us!

2010_0504dismoms20100065.jpg

Then I flipped the camera on our photographers- notice NOT Doug is covering his Doug name tag-

NOTDoug's Dad felt it was important for us to meet Fulton's Manager, so she came over for a pic, VERY impressed by our DISmomness-

2010_0504dismoms20100067.jpg

Of COURSE I took a pic of NOT Doug's parents, who we were having the BEST time with-

Then the gentleman sitting on the other side of NOT Doug's parents was about to leave....but not before ND's Dad introduced him to us....he felt it was VERY important to meet this man, because he was Captain Larry the Singing Captain ..... here's a link to his Youtube video-
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9W3w9lIa71s
It seems Captain Larry likes to sing while he captains the boat up and down the Sassagoula River to SSR, OKW & POR....he also likes to sing acapella in Fulton's to Dismoms, FYI....so he serenaded Joan & I with "I'll send all my lovin' to you" by the Beatles. I have no pic, I was being sung to. But someone else we know has some photos....:rolleyes1

Anyway, after that spectacle, Kara, Lonnie & Pam left to do some shopping, while Cammie, Joan & I hung at Fulton's just a little while longer....and although I've been sworn to secrecy about what went on, let's just say that by the time we stood up to leave we had pretty much met everyone there, and they will never, EVER forget us...:rolleyes1 will they, Holy Joan? :rotfl2: Please don't axe, because I can't tell...So, so funny- the staff at Fulton's is AMAZING- we LOVE them, and we all can't wait to go back together next year!! We were able to use TIW here, but we also added extra to the tip, because they REALLY deserved it. And Not Doug's Dad? If you ever see him sitting at that bar....make sure you do whatever it takes to make his acquaintance, because he his one AWESOME friend to have!! :thumbsup2

Up next...it's time for some tats, ladies...

My guess is that they hit it on a bad night, I certainly want to eat there one day- I just need to get over Fulton's to do it- and that's a little hard for me!! :rotfl: I bet they have wonderful wines there- Italian wine is by far my favorite, so for that fact alone, i bet I would enjoy it!!

Great update; love the picture of everyone by the holiday sign! All the appies sound really yummy!

I'm convinced appies are the way to go- much less expensive and you can eat in more than one restaurant. :thumbsup2

I have learned two important things during this wonderful trip report:

1. You can get the cheddar soup and pretzel bread to go from Le Cellier.

2. There is a bar at Fulton's were you can sit, drink, and have yummy food.

It has been seven years since I have eaten at Fultons. My Mom and Dad took Dave and I to eat there the day after we got married. I love the food and am not sure why I haven't been back. :confused3

It so good to hear that Sean is venturing out and trying new foods. I hope you guys have an awesome time on Monday for his 16th birthday. :)

Looks like you gals were really enjoying yourselves!! Nice pics of everyone. :thumbsup2 Can't wait to hear what happens next.

Sounds like everyone in the place knew you girls had been there! :rotfl2: Somebody better come forward with that pic of you being sung to, we want to see it! :lmao:

Ok, before I read any further, I have to comment on this. HOORAY SEAN!! I'm sure you guys are thrilled with him branching out a bit. I have no idea what you guys have been through the last 16 years, but I have read all of your reports, and you have the best attitude.

And AMEN on the HHI points. We are saving for those too :) LOVE IT down there!

We have never been to Fulton's but you are making me think that we should try it ... the bar looks like a good time!

Looks like a great time was had by all! I won't axe.

Captain Larry looks like alot of fun to me - why not sing while you work - too bad some people just can't relax and have fun with him!

Great pictures of all of you!! :goodvibes

It's so fun to "coach" a newbie about Disney!!:thumbsup2 What a problem to have - "hmmm someone gave us 220 points, what to do...what to do..." :rotfl2:

I had not been to Fulton's EVER until I started going on girlie trips, first with Lonnie in 2008, and then the DISmoms... I think I need to make sure Pods & I go, since he has never been and he LOVES seafood! I think maybe our first night, before we head over to EPCOT for EMH with Lonnie & Mike. :goodvibes

And thanks for being happy for us with Sean and the food thing! He ate another banana for breakfast this morning :thumbsup2 and had pizza last night- the REALLY BIG thing is that he eats it without prompting- he just stuffs it in and is enjoying it. We are SOOOOOO happy!! :jumping1:

Looks like you gals were really enjoying yourselves!! Nice pics of everyone. :thumbsup2 Can't wait to hear what happens next.

Thanks! Hope to have an update soon- :thumbsup2

Well, I'm sure someone will, but right now they are all really busy- Kara is unpacking and setting up her new home (but she is like lightening and already has SOOOOO much done!! :worship:), Joan went to Iowa today for her sorority reunion this weekend, Cammie has been having a trying week, and Loni & Pam? I don't know if they have a pic to post! So be patient....it will come!!

Sounds like such fun!!

An AWESOME night!! My favorite night of the trip- everyone was acting silly- there are some funny photos coming up!

You are so sweet!! Thanks so much for cheering Sean on- we are really, REALLY excited about the progress he's been making this year!! :cheer2:

LOVE HHI!! That DVC is so wonderful- I can't WAIT to go back this summer!!

We have never been to Fulton's but you are making me think that we should try it ... the bar looks like a good time!

Hi Bendy!! :goodvibes The bar is a BLAST- you guys would LOVE it!! :thumbsup2 And the food is soooooo yummy there.

We felt so special, Joan and I, getting a personal serenade from a legendary CM. :goodvibes

OK - I am SO in for Fultons next year. I don't know if the soccer moms and I will fit in the group picture, but we are so there! Christine?????? Are you there, too? Great update! Way to meet everyone in the restaurant! You guys all look great and it looks like such a fun time!

Wow! Fulton's is definitely going on my list... did you have the pop rocks drink? I hope it can live up to the hype without the DIS Moms and Not Doug's Dad! :lmao:

So happy to hear your son is branching out and eating new things!! :)

Phew! I am finally all caught up!:scared:

Lovin' this report - you guys are too fun!

Seriously can't believe I didn't spot a stand-out group of women like yourselves! Not only was I staying at BCV at the same time, and familiar with your past Dismom TRs, but we were also at SAB that final day before the pool slide closed for rehab. You know....the day the pool had to keep closing due to the reoccurring floatables. (And I want you to know, they did not come from my kids!!!!)

Believe it or not, the floatables aren't even the worse thing we witnessed at SAB during our stay. I will wait to see if you report about it here before spilling the beans.

Enjoying the laughs...keep it coming!:goodvibes
