Goofy Proposes, Fi Falls for Sleeping Beauty & we Celebrate our Engagement NEW 6/18!

What a magical night!
Love your Spectro pictures- you had a great view.

Can't wait to hear about dinner at CRT!

You got some beautiful pictures of Spectro, Courtney! :thumbsup2 I can't think of a better way to spend my last evening at Disney than just like you---Spectro, followed by Wishes! :goodvibes

AND you are so right about the castle covered in those shimmering icicle lights. It is the most beautiful sight ever! :cloud9:

GREAT pics of Spectromagic! The Snow White story brought tears to my eyes! How sweet!! The castle looks AMAZING!! Can't wait to hear about CRT as we're eating there for an early dinner in Nov!! :goodvibes

Hi, Courtney! I just got caught back up on your TR. I can't believe how cold it was. You never imagine heading to Disney that it will be that cold in Florida!

I agree with you about the icicle lights. There is nothing more magical than seeing it lit up like that. When I went a couple Decembers ago, I came home with way too many pics of it :)

I can't wait to see how CRT went for you two!

You took FABULOUS Spectromagic pictures-- it's definitely my favorite parade/show at Disney, but I can never get such amazing pictures as you did! That Snow White story is just so indicative of what Disney does for its guests, and the going above and beyond to make sure people have a magical time. That's sweet the CM was going to help you out to make sure you got to CTR on time!

Courtney! Give me more! :)

It takes pretty good pictures, I think! :thumbsup2

That just goes to prove that SW is my all time favorite Disney Princess now. It appears that who ever they get to play here really loves their job and is super nice to everyone! Both my times with her have been great! I know it was too different girls but both of them were totally amazing!

Snow White does always seem to be great with character interaction. The Snow White we saw at Akershus was great too! :goodvibes

You got some really good shots of Spectro! Can't wait to hear about your dinner! :goodvibes

Thank you! I was really pleased with how all of the spectro shots came out. :thumbsup2

What a magical night!

Can't wait to hear about dinner at CRT!

We got very lucky with our spot for spectro! We literally walked right into the park and found that spot and the parade started within 5 minutes! The weather in January might not have been too good, but the crowd levels were fantastic! :yay:

Thanks, Michelle! I thought it was a great way to spend our final evening - in fact, I think that's how I'll spend all of my final Disney evenings from now on! :goodvibes

Thanks, Becky! :goodvibes The Snow White interaction was just precious. :lovestruc And I think you'll be very happy with my CRT review! I'm so glad y'all are going to get to eat there for dinner!

Never would I have ever believed it would be that cold in Orlando - that's why I didn't bring heavier coats! :sad2: Hopefully that's a once in a lifetime thing - I never want to be that cold at Disney again!

You took FABULOUS Spectromagic pictures-- it's definitely my favorite parade/show at Disney, but I can never get such amazing pictures as you did! I agree - Spectro is the best! While I like watching all of the parades, I don't get as swept up in them as I did in this one. It was a positively magical experience! :goodvibes

Yes, the CM at the rope was wonderful! She was just a sweetheart! :lovestruc

Yay Spectro, wishes and CRT!! What a night. I want to here more!!!

It was a wonderful night! I should have the Wishes and CRT update up soon!

Courtney! Give me more! :)

Okay you can't leave me hanging!!!! The pictures of the castle lite up are amazing!!!!!

DAY 7 - Pt. 5

Finally it had come the time for us to watch Wishes! It was the first time we were able to see it during the trip, and I could not think of a better night to be watching the fantastic display!

I will let the pictures do the talking here!

Overall, being directly in front of the castle is definitely not the best spot for viewing the fireworks. Some of the ones weren’t visable, and all of them were kind of off to the side of the castle. Still though, the display was as beautiful as ever. The lights of the castle, the music, knowing we were about to enjoy a meal inside the castle, even the cold added up to the perfect Wishes experience, even if some of our view was obstructed.

So far, our final evening in the Magic Kingdom was more than making up for our less than-perfect MK morning!

After a simply magical viewing of Wishes, FI and I were ready to get out of the cold and into Cinderella’s castle! We motioned to the kind CM that it was time for us to go in and she very discreetly opened up the rope for us – we felt so special! Almost as though we were being allowed to “sneak” back.
The two CM’s at the check-in podium for the restaurant were so nice! I can’t remember exactly what they said, but I believe it was along the lines of “the royal party” and congratulated us on our engagement… Always a nice touch!

Quickly we were lead into the castle! It was so neat finally being inside – what an experience! I have always wanted to go into the castle. In fact, as a child I had no idea that there was a restaurant inside! It really was beautiful in there! I felt like I was living out a life-long dream.

Cindy's Christmas tree!

We were placed in line for a photo with Cinderella and didn’t have to wait long before it was time to have our picture made with our hostess for the evening! This Cindy was much friendlier than the one at Akershus and made a big fuss over my ring – the two photographers even got in the action, oohing and ahhing over it. Unfortunately, the pic wasn’t so great. :guilty:

After our time with the princess, we were lead up the winding staircase into the dining room. I was so hoping for a window seat. I believe I mentioned earlier in the TR that I didn’t add our engagement celebration to any of our ADR’s, so I never expected anything going into the meal. Well, once again the wonderful CMs took it upon themselves to make sure we had the proper celebration - we were lead to a table by the window, which we found decorated with confetti! FI and I were on cloud 9!

Very quickly our waiter came and explained the meal and the little show that would be put on later. We ordered our drinks and pondered over the menu while we waited for them.

I decided on the castle salad, the prime rib and the cream cheese buckle (I’m pretty sure we ordered every course together). FI chose the BLT salad, the pork chop and the same dessert.

Once again, our waiter appeared very quickly, this time with our salads. I will say, this is the only meal of the week where I truly felt rushed by the restaurant. The courses arrived at the exact moment the previous was finished, and our waiter definitely added to the rushed paced. Still though, I had expected this and we were having a great time – we were in the castle afterall!

FI and I were both very impressed with our salads. I don’t remember trying a bite of his, but mine was wonderful! If you are eating here for dinner I would definitely recommend the castle salad!

Next up were our entrees. My prime rib was just ok – I wouldn’t say it was bad, but I’ve certainly had better. I probably wouldn’t order it again. FI’s dish, however, was amazing! Let me preface this by saying I do not normally like pork. I’ll eat sausage or bacon occasionally, but I never order (or cook) pork chops or loins or anything like this. This pork chop, however, was absolutely delicious! I wish I had ordered this instead, and it would definitely be my choice of entrée if I return to CRT in the future.

As soon as we were finished with our entrees out came our desserts. They were nothing spectacular, but I have read many things about how dry and tasteless this dish and I didn’t find that to be true. Sure, it wasn’t the best dessert of the week, but I also wouldn’t classify it as bad. I would order it again in the future.

While we were eating out desserts, the show with the fairy godmother started. It was cute, and we enjoyed that last opportunity to see some characters. I thought the wishing ceremony at the end added to the whole magical vibe for our evening.

A little caught off guard!

After the show wrapped up, we paid for our meal and made our way out of the castle. The entryway was empty by this point, so we of course took the opportunity for another picture!

When we finally made our way outside, we were greeted by a nearly empty main street.

The music was playing and the castle was lit, and in many ways – it was just us in our “happy place”. For those who say that Disney World isn’t fun for adults or can’t be romantic have obviously never strolled down an empty main street, hand in hand with the lights literally dancing around you! What a beautiful evening it was!

We took our time reaching the exit to the park, soaking it all in for as long as we could. Soon though, it was time to leave and with that final glimpse of that beautiful castle, it was time to say goodbye until next time…

UP NEXT: Departure day :sad1: and Souvenir Reveal!

Beautiful picture, and beautifully said! :goodvibes

What a wonderful night! There are no other words to describe it-- and I completely agree with you. I can't think of a more romantic place than Main Street at night! :lovestruc

I am so glad you had a wonderful last night. The pictures of the castle are great. And strolling down and empty Main Street at night just seems so magical!

Oh, why'd you hafta go and make me tear up? I was doing fine until you talked about strolling down Main Street holding hands...

Beautiful! Dinner looked like a lot of fun.

Those are great Wishes and Castle pics!
