Coming Soon: Full Trip Report with Pics (After Trip)

Joining in. I'm a new vegan and this will be my first trip as a vegan. We are going in July.

We usually do mostly sit downs, but after doing free dining for half our trip last year everyone wants to try the QSDP for the last 9 nights of the trip. The first 5 nights are without a meal plan as we are going to SW IOA and US.

Here is my loose plan

All breakfasts are just breakfast type bars in the room. I have to research what kinds I can eat, but I'm sure that won't be too hard. I may get the Odwalla Super Protein bars that are vegan and have 14 g of protein in them.

7/17 - Saturday
Pop Century - Most likely eat at the hotel that evening

7/18 - Sunday
Sea World - Lunch at Sea World, not sure about dinner. I think they want to go to Hooters, and since there isn't anything vegan there I'll most liklely grab somthing back at the hotel afterwards. I might be able to have some french fries there, lol.

7/19 -Monday
Island of Adventures - Lunch at Moe's at City Walk, dinner ?, maybe at hotel

7/20 - Tuesday
Universal Studios - Lunch at Moes' at City Walk, dinner ?, maybe at hotel or somewhere else on property

7/21 - Wednesday
IOA/US - Lunch at Moe's at City walk, Dinner at Boma - for my birthday dinner!!!

7/22 - 8/1 - QSDP, so breakfast and lunch are at CS.
We will be at Disney and are planning 2 days at each park and 1 extra day, either at MK or Epcot.

AK 2 days, I'll either have the veggie burger with the dairy free bun and fries at Restaurantasaurus or go by myself over to AKL to Mara. Dinner will be at Mara, at least for me, since it closes early.

DHS 2 days, Most likely I'll have the Grilled Veggie sandwich w/o cheese at the Backlot express. I also may try the Whole wheat veggie pita at Starring Rolls cafe - I think it doesn't have cheese? These are pre-made so I have to verify, and I know they don't always have them. There is also another veggie sandwich at Studio Catering company, but I'm not sure if by removing cheese if it's vegan.

Epcot -2 or 3 days, I'll eat my meals at Tangerine cafe and Sunshines Seasons. Enough variety between the 2, I'll be happy.

MK- 2 or 3 days, So easy here. Veggie tacos at El Pirata y el Perico, lighthouse sandwich without slaw at Columbia Harbor House, veggie burger at either Cosmic Ray's or Peco's Bill (only if I really love it at AK), veggie wrap at Cosmic Rays, Vegetable flatbread at Golden Oak Outpost. I also want to go over to the Grand Floridian and try the tabouleh sandwich.

It was sort of freeing not making ADR's this year. I only had to make the one at Boma. Let's just say that since it's my only sit down this trip..........I'm going to really enjoy it!!

Just so you know, Pizzafari at AK has a rice crust pizza and soy cheese. Their regular sauce is also vegan. It takes a bit of time for them to make it though. It was kinda a lot of standing around. :confused3

------------------------------------------------------------------

I can't wait to go! Just wish it would never end! :cool1:

How did it taste? I thought about going there too. My family will be eating lunch at Pizzafari both days. They love the hot deli sandwich.

I figured I'd try the veggie burger, would love eating with my family though. We go early when it first opens. Luckily we are early lunch people........because we eat light in the room and are hungry as soon as the restaurants open. Plus it's less crowded then.

I hear you. I have never ordered pizza at disney CS for that very reason. That is why it scares me a little with the new crust and I've never tried vegan cheese before (although I just bought some Daiya to try).

Yeah, another review to follow. I'm an aspiring vegan and our trip in August will be our first with me following a plant-based diet. We'll be in a DVC room, so I'm bringing along things to be able to make at least one meal a day in our room. I feel for our poor neighbors who'll be hearing the VitaMix early in the morning. And I'll be bringing ingredients to make oatmeal, vegan muffins, pancakes, etc. for breakfast. I'm trying to keep the budget low on this trip.

Your reviews (along with Vegcentric and V_gan ... those who I've inadvertently left off, please forgive me) have been so helpful! Looking forward to more!

Cool! Good luck with your trip in August. You'll have to write up some reviews for when you return. I'm not going until October and I'm trying to soak up as much information as possible. Thank goodness for all the vegans we have on disboards!

I'm booked for the end of August. Have fun on your trip, and good luck with your veganism! :thumbsup2

You are so much better than me! I just keep on adding ADRs based on all the reviews I've been reading. I must stop that! :rolleyes1

I'm definately not any better. :lmao:

It is very very tempting to change based on some of the reviews. I've heard some bad things about 1900 Park Fare, and Crystal Palace Dinner and how I should switch CP to breakfast so we can get into the park before rope drop, etc. :confused3

Ayway, I decided just to stick with it because if I change now I may have trouble finding the ADR time that I want again!

So I guess I will just wait and see what happens and hope I have some Disney magic of my own to tell you about. :wizard:

I just paid off my final payment today, almost missed it. Woo hoo!!

I am following, Jessica! I heard Chef TJ is the BEST! :cloud9: I hope you get him both times.

You PDR has inspired me that it's not too early to start mine!;)
