Okay since I finally finished my January TR, and I leave in less than 11 days, I'm going to start this TR now!

I guess we should start with WHO

Me (Not Joanna Eggs) and my Sister, Monica (PanicAttack)

We will henceforth be known in this TR as Joanna and Panic.

Is a coincidence that both of us have screen names that invoke the names of slightly villainous, but totally hilarious, relatively obscure Disney sidekicks? Read the report and Judge for yourself.

Though I am slightly tempted to photoshop every vacation picture we take to replace us with Joanna and Panic… I have a job and a life, so instead of out green-villain namesakes, you'll be getting pictures of plain 'ole us.

Panic

DSC00699JPG.jpg

23 year old engineer (for those of you who read my last report, no, much to my DH's dismay, she's not a train engineer…) who right now lives in Upstate New York, and is soon moving to New Jersey. Which means we don't get to see each other often - which means when we do see each other, we actually get along!

Panic is pretty indifferent towards Disney. She likes it, but doesn't love it. It's a vacation, so she's down. As I mentioned she has a Dis name, but rarely posts. I'm hoping I'll get her to pop in here once or twice….

Me (Joanna)

Picture090.jpg

27 year old newly-wed who's already ditching her DH for the Mouse! DH and I got married at WDW in January, and bought into DVC at that time, which makes this trip possible. I'm more of the Disney fan in the family, ever since I was little.

As proof - here's me at age 3

And so Panic doesn't feel left out here's one of us from back when she was cute…(I mean, obviously - I still am :D)

Here’s some picture of the two of us, that pretty much sums up our relationship:

(and yes, I have to throw in a few wedding pictures - but I promise that this is it - if you want more - the link to the TR is in my siggy)

We’re best friends and worst enemies all within 10 minutes of each other…

What: The main purpose of this trip (well besides spending time together) is to experience Summer Nightastic. Panic and I have fond memories of the Main Street Electrical Parade. We planned this trip before the announced the re-release of Captain EO - or we would have changed it to catch that too. Hopefully it's still around in December.

When:
June 18 - 20, 2010

Where: a studio at the BCV - my very first DVC stay! Fitting that it's without my DH :lmao:

How With DVC and APs and Frequent Flier miles this little jaunt is "free" all the more reason to enjoy!

Up next: The Plan!

I'm in! I encourage people to go to your two other trip reports too.

You'll love the BCV. BWV is our home resort but we always walk to BC.

I had a great sister trip with my DS a couple of years ago. She lives in Texas and I in Michigan. It was great to vacation together. PLUS she went with me to the princess breakfast at Norway. None of my men would go. Can you believe it???

Haha, you still have such witty and colorful commentary regarding this trip with your sister! Sorry to your DH, but this TR might be as much fun without him too! Hehe. Maybe just ONE pic of a steam engine and he'll be okay, right?

BTW, I love that your 3-yr old outfit has the classic Mickey that everyone wants on their shirts now!

Hey Panic! I'm an engineer too (and also not of the train variety :lmao:)! Great introduction, I'm looking forward to hearing about your guys' trip! Hope you have a blast!

I think it's most definitely a requirement that we do a series of pictures where we photoshop ourselves out and replace them with our avatars.

And not only did we both pick obscure, slightly villainous and thoroughly hilarious charters to represent ourselves... but they're also both a weird blueish-greenish-tealish color. Hmm... you think people will know we're related?

So when Joanna says that I don't "love" Disney... what she means is that I don't have the same compulsive desire to talk about it every day that she suffers from - I mean, enjoys. I like it and had a great time when we were there for the wedding (one of the first time's I'd been back and actually inside the parks since an Orchestra trip my sophomore year of High School). And I'm definitely excited to be going again in only 2 weeks! This time with no wedding requirements in the way ^_^

I'm probably most looking forward to the animator's studio tour. I remember going there when they had all the stuff for Hercules and it was awesome but apparently it's all changed and not operational as an animation studio anymore. I definitely miss the 2D animation style they were so great at back in the day.

Other than that, I'm just letting the sister plan everything out. Because her specialty is planning amazing vacations... and my specialty is enjoying them.

I think I'll try to put that on a business card.

Regardless... looking forward to how this trip is going to turn out. We tend to have weird luck. Not necessarily good or bad... just weird. Like only one of her champagne flutes getting broken in transit for the wedding. And her breaking the unity candle, but after the ceremony. My vote is that we'll get stuck on Rockin' Roller Coaster (a la Best Man last time) but we'll be in the same car as David Henry.

Did we mention we're a bit obscure? ^_^

Hey cool! I got my major in ChemE but I'm in a rotational program with Johnson & Johnson right now so I'm a Logistics Analyst in the supply chain delivery department for the next couple months. Then I'll be a Demand Planner.

I really liked fixing problems and improving processes when I was in a manufacturing plant, but we'll see if I can do the same thing with Supply Chain.

*crosses fingers*

Awesome! I studied BioMed but now I'm a systems engineer for an aviation and defense company, working on cockpit display software for business and regional jets. One of my BioMed friends from school worked at J&J in New Jersey as a Scientist in R&D. She was always working on cool new products that she wasn't allowed to tell me anything about... other than that they were really cool. Your rotational job sounds like a lot of fun!!

Okay, I have to follow your adventures just because you have the coolest DIS name ever! The Rescuers movies get NO park love (well, Hercules either actually, except for "Go The Distance" being part of Wishes) It's so sad! Joanna is hilarious!

Thanks for the plug :goodvibes

I'm looking forward to the BCV. We stayed at the BWV waaay back when they first opened, and loved the location. I've always wanted to check out the pool at the BC!

I'm excited about the sister trip... We're doing some things that the boys won't do with us either! :cutie:

Thanks Rachel :goodvibes I promised DH I would take at least 1 train picture for him. You know... to get him through the withdrawal :rotfl:.

There are so many outfits (Disney and non) from when I was little that I wish I could have kept because they'd be so cool now. Even if they'd only fit on a large teddy bear or something...

Hey Panic! I'm an engineer too (and also not of the train variety :lmao:)! Great introduction, I'm looking forward to hearing about your guys' trip! Hope you have a blast!

See, it's the "blast" I'd be worried about :rotfl: We promise to try hard not to blow things up!

Welcome :flower3: I totally agree about the park love. Both movies are just great! I don't understand why the Rescuers get no love, but there's a whole ride dedicated to a movie that they deem too "culturally insensitive" to sell in the US :confused3 I would love an "albatross air" ride with Wilber!

Okay - you get your own response.

Yes, we can definitely photoshop some of our photos... but not all of them. Too much photoshopping hurts my head. And, we don't talk to said "relation" because the implications are too frighting! :scared1:

"required wedding activities" like drinking around the world?

And I'd like to see that business card

Panic
Engineer (not for trains)
enjoyer of vacations

:rotfl:

And... to keep the the rest of the world in the know, I should explain that Panic and I have this very bizarre affinity to David Henrie (Justin in Wizards of Waverly Place and/or the son on HIMYM) We (misguidedly) are convinced both my DH and her DBF kind of look like him, and he's our unofficial mascot. I'm not really sure why at all. I'll fully admit it's totally weird obsession, but I'm sure the David Henrie of our minds will be along with us for this trip!

Holy cheezballs, Batman! Only a couple more days until we're on our way. Actually, for me it's almost exactly 48 hrs from when I'll be hopping on my plane.

The weather doesn't look great for when we'll be there though. Thunderstorms. But like Joanna says, that just means no lines ^_^' Like we're going to let a little rain stop us. Puh-leez.

A friend of mine was just recently in WDW (armed of course with a list of things to do from the person who knows everything to do everywhere -- my sister) and suggested we try the 'Cloudberry Horns' in Norway. Has anyone ever tried these? They sound equally mythical and delicious.

:cutie:Panic - we're so related - I started typing this at work this morning in a word document, and I titled it T - 49 hrs... good greif charlie brown! For two people who are so different, we really are alike :rotfl:

I had every intention of doing a for-real plan in full detail, but this week has been so busy, that just didn't happen. So here's the Abridged version.

Friday:

Arrive at MCO around 5:30. Hop on the ME and check in at the BCV. Hopefully we'll have enough time to have dinner at Beaches & Cream - I'm seriously in need of a no way jose! Then we'll head over to the MK and pick up Panic's AP. Once in the MK, depending on the time, we'll stake out a spot to watch the main street electrical parade. After that bit of nostalgia, we'll probably stay put and watch the Magic Music & Mayhem fireworks. After that we'll go against the masses and enjoy EMH until 2am.

Panic hasn't been to the MK in almost 10 years, so we'll hit all the big ones. I want to try Jungle Cruise at night - I've heard it's cool.

We'll probably just go until we crash - which I'm rather sure won't be until 2, since I'll be leaving for work at 4:30 that morning.

Saturday:

Ultimately, the plan is to go to the AK for am EMH, but I'm 99% sure that won't happen. We'll probally get there by 10. The primary objective here is the Nemo show, Everest, and of course, Dinosaur. Panic's favorite!
We did AK pretty in depth in January, so we probably won't spend too much time there this trip. We'll probably catch lunch at either Y&Y or Flame Tree then head out.

Next destination - DHS. Panic is adamant that we do the animation class - which is fine I had fun in Jan. when we did it. We want to take one last trip to Endor before the referb and of course TSM, RRnRC and ToT.
Somewhere in there, we'll take a break for dinner - we're thinking of trying Kimonos, since we won't be on the DP.

After dinner, we'll return to DHS and finish up whatever we didn't get to originally. Then we'll go to Fantasmic!

Afterwords, we'll either go back to the hotel - or to JellyRolls, depending on our energy level.

Sunday:

We're hoping to wake up early-ish and head down to Storm Along Bay for a bit. Just to check it out. Panic has stayed at the BC before - I haven't. Then we'll check out and head over to Epcot. Panic's mission to do the Raytheon sponsored thingy at Innovations since her DBF works for them, and they enjoyed it last time. My mission is to get a blood orange Margarita from el cava del tequila (or whatever it's called). Also, as she stated above, one of Panic's co workers was just at Epcot last week and told her of a magical pastry in Norway. Not being a fan of School Bread - I was dismissive - but this is not School Bread. It is a Cloudberry Horn. Now, I'm sorry, but I can't in good consciousness pass up something called a cloudberry horn - it just wouldn't be right! So that's on the list.

Our flight leaves at 8 and I have vowed to NOT miss the ME this time. Panic and I have the same connecting flight to ATL.

Wow…. That as the abridged version? Yeesh. Maybe Panic is right - I do have a problem!

So anyway… we leave in about 48 hours, so Yippee!!

Other than that, The rain ponchos and umbrellas are packed, my AP, TIW card, and DVC member card have been located and are secured in my purse, and I finally broke down last weekend and bought crocs - so we'll see how those work.

I tried to check in online yesterday, but didn't get any confirmation. So I'm worried that we're not checked in or worse, it's somehow locked up and Panic won't be able to check in without me. Oh well. She's a big girl and can find the bar and wait for me right? :cutie:

"Expert Bar Finder" is also on my business card. Right next to Engineer and Professional Vacationer.

Have a blast on your trip! Will be looking forward to hearing all about it. Is there a water park in your future? :goodvibes

You realize, now I'm going to make you a business card :cutie:

Thanks TK! :goodvibes All of our (okay, well my... but if Panic isn't, she'd better get a move on it!) bags are packed. I'm at work for the morning - just a few hours now!

I live very close to the 'waterpark capitol of the world' (Wisconsin Dells, WI) that boasts the largest concentration of waterparks anywhere, and since it's so close, we go a few times a year. So going to Disney to do a waterpark, just seems silly. I'm sure one day I'll break down and go, but I don't think it's on the agenda for this trip... but you never know!

Okay we're back, I've finally dried off, so let's get this TR started!!

In lieu of using any vacation time for this trip, I flexed my hours during the week to make up for leaving at noon, adding an extra hour here and there. So Friday morning, I got up and got into to work around 5:30 (this means I left my house around 4:45, and was up around). I'm not a morning person at all, you needless to say I wasn't thrilled about being up so early.

I mean look - even the fox is still asleep

Stuff001.jpg

(we have a family of foxes living in our yard, I thought it was so cute to see one of the babies sleeping like that)

I always feel so silly bringing big bags into work. I don't know why - no one cares - I just feel like a dork.

I had my "purse" which was my DVC bag. I had all my clothes, books, cameras and other stuff in there.

Stuff002.jpg

And my 3 oz of liquid ina plastic bag

Stuff003.jpg

Then I had gigantor -which is what I call this duffle bag. It can fit anything, and still qualify and fit as a carryon. Once I fit both DH and my clothes for a week in this one bag. Nice, but HEAVY!

Stuff004.jpg

This was full of clothes I was giving to Panic.

The morning at work went pretty fast - no crises - which as a miracle in and of itself.

I got a text from Panic saying she was at the airport. I wasn't there, but I imagine she looked like this

PanicatAirport.jpg

At noon, I grabbed my luggage, and hopped in my friend Sheri's car -since she offered to take me to the airport. We decided to take in a quick lunch before she dropped me off - since we were still early.

The service was super slow, they were boarding all zones all rows when I got to my gate.

No worries, I was near the front of the plane, and the flight was NOT full. It was kind of weird, the guy next to me was assigned the middle seat, but no one was assigned the aisle. And he didn't move over until more than 1/2 way through the flight. That was so odd. He also started playing music on his computer - not with head phones. That was obnoxious to.

Also hilarious was the family in front of me. There was a little girl - about 6 I think. It was her first flight (and first time to Disney) and her parents were really coaching her about the flight. Explaining everything to her and making sure she was excited, not scared. They did a really good job…. Too good of a job even… Once we were in the air and almost landing they asked her if she was excited about Disney, but she just wanted to talk about the plane. It was pretty funny. I hope she eventually got excited about disney!

At some point in the flight, I took my camera out to take a picture of myself of the plane…

We landed (early even!) and I texted Panic to see where she was. She was on the ME already, so I was right behind her.

I got on the first ride of the trip, and grabbed my phone to take a pic, since it was already in my pocket…

Where's the big drop?

OrlandoAirportTram.jpg

Check-in to the ME was a breeze - there was NO one there, and the people that were, were really blurry...

MEline.jpg

I had enough time to snap this picture

MESign.jpg

And they loaded me on a bus.

Soon we were on our way, taking in the lovely sights of the airport.

airport.jpg

The movie started, and I put my phone away and reached for my camera….

MEVideo.jpg

…

Um…

Camera?

Where are you?

Please tell us you found your camera!!

That story about the little girl on the airplane is too cute. I wonder why the guy didn't move - maybe he thought he couldn't and finally figured out he could :confused3

I loved your honeymoon TR and can't wait to get this show on the road!!

Hahaha! Subscribing now -- I read your wedding trip report and loved it! So funny! :rotfl: I can't wait to hear about your newest adventures!!!!!! :woohoo:
