Going to WDW first week of October - staying at the Poly with the standard DDP. Myself, wife, dd6, ds4.

Most of our ADRs are for character meals and buffets, but I was wondering what our drinks options are since the meal plan says we can order one non-alcoholic beverage. Does this mean coke products? frozen drinks? Juice doesn't seem to be included unless it is at breakfast. We don't drink alcohol, tea, coffee or anything with those kind of flavors - mocha gives me headaches. I don't really see any menus that list any drink options other than soda and water for choices we can work with.

Anyone have any experience with the DDP and getting a cool drink?

Coke = soda = cool drink, doesn't it?

I'm not sure what kind of drink you're looking for given all you posted. You should be able to get a drink - pop/soda of whatever kind the restaurant has (Disney has Coke products exclusively, by the way), milk, water - as you said, I'm not sure about juice. I've heard a few places even allow smoothies as the beverage with the DDP (and those cost more than a standard drink).

I don't think the buffets offer fancy non-alcoholic drinks. At some of the TS restaurants that aren't buffets you can get smoothies, milkshakes or other alcohol free drinks.

I believe your options are soda, water, tea, iced tea, coffee, milk, chocolate milk and may be juice (lunch or dinner). Juice is available for breakfast.

Wow! Great question.

We took the kids to Le Cellier in Epcot. Right now it is on the dining plan as 1 TS, but there are rumors about upgrading it to 2 TS, which should indicate how good the food is. (Verrrry good, even the kids loved it).

Anyway they have a drink there called a Niagara Refresher, which is kind of a mango smoothie which is sooooo good. Both adults and kids were able to order it for our drink on the dining plan and it was covered. The only thing that wasn't covered was when we wanted a refill because it was so good, especially on a hot day :)

If you want a particular juice and it isn't breakfast, all you have to do is ask. My husband LOVES the passion fruit mango juice served at Ohana with breakfast. When we went for dinner, he raved about it to the waiter, and lamented that it wasn't shown of the dinner menu. The waiter promptly brought him a whole carafe of it to enjoy with his dinner :)

This was our exact experience....at places like Crystal Palace for dinner we got iced tea/soda with our meal. DD got milk or juice. Since Crystal Palace doesn't serve alcohol, they definitely didn't have "virgin" drinks (i.e. frozen pina colada). I'm not sure about other buffets outside the MK.

At The Wave and The Cali Grill were able to get smoothies/milkshakes/virgin pina coladas or even a capuccino with our dessert.

Does any one have a lsit of the places that allow you to sub a smoothie for your drink.

On a side note, I saw somewhere that at the Spirit Dinner Show they had a Rum Drink that was included, can anyone confirm this???? THanks

I do not believe you can get any alcoholic beverage with the DDP, including at SoA.

Some of the dinner shows, like HDDR, include alcohol, so whether you pay cash or DDP, it's included in the fixed price. I haven't been to SoA, so I can't speak for that one.

Yes, you're right - forgot about the Sangria & beer at HDDR. I do not believe that was the case @ SoA last year - but I actually ordered some huge expensive drink in a coconut, so what do I remember? I know that wasn't included! :rotfl: And my husband was ill that day, so I don't think he was drinking.
