pros:
sticky wings as good as ever
banana creme brulee good (but not as good as the old days with the banana slices on top)
good bread and macadamia nut butter
good French press Kona
great iced tea
very good cucumber sushi
good Coconut Almond Chicken

cons:
service felt like Denny's
Teriyaki-style New York Strip was tough and luke-warm--good flavor from sauce
I believe the steak used to be served with a great potato dish instead of rice
Why, oh why, oh why do we always fall for the temptation of chocolate and order the Kilauea Torte? It is just toooo rich for us (not rich in a good way but in a sickening way) and I think of the five that were ordered each only had a couple of bites taken out. It just looks so appealing...

Final thoughts--I think after many, many visits to Kona over the years this one will be taken off our rotation for a while. :-(

We ate at Kona tonight for the first time. I had the Coconut Almond Chicken and LOVED it! DH had the noodles with shrimp & chicken, and the kids shared a kids meal with the mahi mahi, yogurt and green beans & carrots. My only complaint was the green beans & carrots were very blah according to the kids & DH (who tried some in an effort to get the kids to eat them - then ceased all efforts). Our server was good. And the bread with macadamia butter - YUM! Too bad it's being taken off your list; it's just finally making it onto ours!

We ate here on our last trip and were greatly disappointed. Neither the service nor the food was up to what we have come to expect from Disney. We probably won't be back. I don't even remember what we ordered. I've blotted it from my memory.

We ate there last week and loved it. The only thing I didnt like was the broccolini. It was too al dente and flavored too spicy for me.

cons:
service felt like Denny's
:rotfl2: love this! DF and I ate at Kona for lunch a few weeks ago. Although the crab cakes were great (and I was a pretty big fan of the Kilauea Torte... didn't find it too rich at all) the service was horrible. I basically felt like the waitress didn't want us there at all. Took forever to get the things we asked for and she wasn't friendly at all. Island Chicken Sandwich did not live up to the hype either-both DF and I found it pretty flavorless (I know this sounds crazy with all the stuff that comes on it!!!). Our experience at lunch prompted us to cancel our Kona dinner reservation and change it to Citricos, and we are so glad we did. To be fair, Kona breakfast later in the trip was delish (Tonga Toast lived up to the hype!) and service was fine. :goodvibes
