Upgrading to Non-Expiring Tix Question

Hope some one can help...I am buying a 10-day PH, I really want to keep it flexible. The price difference between 8 day PH vs, 10 day PH is not that much, if I end up with unused days can I upgrade to a non-expiring tix for only those remaining days or will I have to pay the non-expiring price on the entire 10 day PH?

I cannot justify paying the non-expiring cost on the entire 10 day PH bc there is always a chance we will use all 10 days this trip and then I wasted my money choosing that option. Anyone have experience upgrading to non-expiring with your unused days?

TIA!!!

You can upgrade it at the end of the trip but you will pay the fee for the entire 10 day ticket. Since the price difference between an 8 day and a 10 day ticket are not that much it would be a waste of money.

But I think you have 14 days from first use to upgrade so I think you can go ahead and use the first 8 days and not add the other 2 unless you need them then. I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong.

On the Theme Parks board there is sticky at the top of the forum list that is all about Tickets and should explain all of this and show you the different options.

This is the story. (Red dots indicate where words were struck out to better tell the story.)

Hint: If you add non-expiration, remember or write down how much that cost you. That needs to be considered as part of your ticket budget for next time. Better yet, figure out your ticket budget for next time now so you can decide that it is not worthwhile to add the non-expiration.

Even if you do buy a 10 day ticket and only use 8, it is still a complete waste of money to add the no expiration option.

Also, remember that it can only be upgraded once. The only way that it makes sense financially is if your next trip is ONLY 2 days....you will not be able to add days and will have to buy a new ticket.

has thought of all the ways around their pricing programs. They want to encourage longer stays when you're there so after the fourth day or so the marginal cost of an additional park day is almost nothing. The non expiration option apparently was more popular than expected so a couple of years the increases for that option were higher than normal ticket price increases.

rule of thumb we use is that if we can get 2 full trips out of the 10-day non expiration it's worth it.

We have 5 days left on the passes we bought for New Years' Week last year. Since we have 3 trips planned this year, we'll do the annual pass thing and hang on to the non-expiry for 2012

There is no limit to the number of times a ticket can be upgraded, but all upgrades must be made within 14 days of first use.

Okay...well, I guess it was just an error in my wording. What I meant to say was that since the upgrade would be to a 10 day ticket, it would be the only upgrade that they could make because there isn't anything beyond 10 days. Unless they wanted to add water park and more. I really should just stay away from ticket questions....I always leave info out. :rotfl:
