Teena - we are coming to see you soon from the 'Burgh (arrive June 3 - counting the days now)! I would be so happy to bring you some Tastycakes if you let me know what kind you like. Believe it or not, we have a relative in San Francisco who wants us to bring Isaly's chipped chopped ham (personally, that's one thing I've never really craved), so it will be no big deal to throw a box or two of snacks into our bag. Seriously, let me know! If we were coming later I'd bring you some big boy tomatoes from my garden.

Sure you don't want to change your vacation to later in the summer?????
Only kidding ... if you have room for tastycakes, that would be super. I crave chocolate tandycakes, chocolate juniors and coconut juniors ... whichever is easier to find. I'll see you on Sunday or Monday and no worries if you don't have room! Thanks so much!

The only Tastycakes I can find here in Florida is the peanut butter tandycakes (which Bob likes but I don't), the butterscotch (not a fan), sometimes the jelly krimpets (they're good but not my favorites) and once in a great while the chocolate cupcakes. My favorites are the chocolate juniors, coconut juniors and chocolate tandycakes and of course you can never ever find them here.

I should have read the whole way through before posting - if I can find these, I'll be bringing you some (Lord knows I am doing lots of shopping these days, new bathing suit, sunscreen, shorts,.....). Can't wait for vacation next week. I've only stayed at the BC once before, but I am hooked!

Hi Teena we are staying at the Beach Club.

That's a toughy. I haven't seen pictures posted of our two bedroom suites at the BC but I can try to describe them to you.

There's a small living room area with a sofa and a table and chairs with a TV of course and a little counter area where you can set up the coffee pot, etc.
Off through a door that you can shut ... separate room actually ... is a regular guest room with two queens and a daybed and a bathroom. It's exactly like any of our normal 5 sleeper guest rooms - has a dvd player (because it's club level) and a refrigerator. Then if you go back into the living room from that bedroom that I just mentioned, and walk through the living room, it takes you into a bedroom with a king bed in it and then you round a corner and there is another bathroom. The rooms are all decorated like a normal guest room ... nothing fancy. These two bedroom suites are scattered throughout the resort on the first, second, third and fourth floors. Your room keys will give you elevator access to the fifth floor club level lounge and cast members.
Hope this helps.

That is a great description, thanks so much. July can't come soon enough! Thanks again.:goodvibes

Best Husband In the World Award goes to my Bob.

He just told me to book the Disney Wonder five night double dip at Castaway Cay cruise that departs on Sunday, July 25th.

So, I won't be at work on July 25th and 26th. Instead of making magic, I'll be soaking up the Disney magic .... SO EXCITED!!!

Congrats! I've never been on a cruise of any kind. I would love my first to be a Disney cruise - please post lots of details when you get back!!

Teena, five night cruise with a double dip at Castaway Cay....pure heaven for you! :cloud9: Way to go, Bob!!

You MUST do a Disney cruise. In fact, I think I should gather all my Disboard lady friends (sorry guys) and I should book 3 cabins, and we should all go together some time. Leave the hubbies and kids at home and just have a ball together being silly women! I've cruised most of the cruise lines and some are really nice but nothing, absolutely nothing, is as good as the Disney cruises! Yes, I'm prejudiced but honestly the food, the adult only beach at Castaway, the cruise staff, the cabins, the relaxing, the entertainment ... it's just heaven!!

When we moved from NJ to TN I was shocked by the lack of good produce and that they didn't have Tastycake. Only yucky hostess. We have been here for almost 5 years and they are just now getting a limited selection of tastycakes in the stores here. I have seen the chocolate candy cakes though for sure. We are driving so I will bring you some in 12 days! Also we are hoping to book a cruise for next summer with some friends. Your posts have me convinced that we would really enjoy it. A girls trip sounds like a great idea to me too ::thumbsup2

I completely agree with Teena! But a word of caution, once you go you'll be hooked. We took our first cruise (my first ever) in Nov '06 and this June we'll be on our 6'th. It's very addicting!

Hey, I just sent you a PM.

Yes, I want to hear about your trip too!! :cool1:

We will be back in 55 days, one day after Robyn. Can't wait. Have not been to Disney since last April and can't wait to get back to BC.

I still cannot decided dining or no dining. Still thinking no dining. Also, now we are thinking about flying.....

....is there someone on this board with that name, that is a CM?
I posted a question on the resort thread regarding our upcoming stay this week at BC and they told me to post it here for this person.
Question is:
Our 14 yo DD broke her ankle recently and is in a boot/cast and we were wondering what rooms would be best for us so that she has minimal walking, since we will be doing so much walking at the parks anyway! ;)
We will spend most of our time at Epcot and DS and thought we could walk to them, but now not so sure. Any suggestions? I am not doing the online check in simply because I wasn't sure if we would need to explain any of this upon check in.
We are not sure yet about renting a wheelchair, she wants to try and make it without one, so that's why we are trying to find out our best locations and routes.
TIA!

Hi, I'm Teena and I'm a CM at the Y&B. So sorry about your DD. I suggest you call Reservations and ask to speak with Special Needs. Tell them what happened and that you need a room close to the lobby. Also, we have wheelchairs at the Y&B that we can loan you to use during your entire stay so you don't need to worry about renting one. From the BC lobby, it's about a 4 minute walk to Epcot. However, the walk to Hollywood Studios is well over a mile so I suggest using the boat instead. You can use the wheelchair on the buses, monorails and boats so no worries there. There are plenty of rooms on the various floors that are close to the lobby/elevators so I'm sure we'll be able to get you fairly close but to be safe, I'd go through Special Needs so they can block you into one right away.

Thanks Teena! I will do that and thanks for the info on the wheelchair as well!
Originally we had put in a request for a room close to Epcot, will that be a problem when I call Special Needs? Will they get mad that I am trying to change that now?

No, they won't mind. Just figure out what you want for sure. Being close to Epcot at the BC will make you close to Room 1501 where you can exit and be about 3 minutes to the International Gateway instead of 4-5 minutes if you leave via the lobby. However, if you are near 1501, you will be real far away from the lobby which is where you will end up to go pretty much everywhere else. No room is perfect obviously. Just depends on what you want. If you are going to spend 90% of your time going and coming from Epcot, then you should stay with the request you have now.

Making my way over here.....

I changed our reservations from the GF to the YC last night for our Thanksgiving trip. We have never stayed or even visited YC. But between reading the reviews here and from our TA, looking at all the pictures, we decided that the YC is the resort for us! DH is over the moon happy. He said it is a perfectly manly resort! LOL Even the kids, who never agree on anything, agreed that the YC was for us and were really excited about the change! And I have to say, I am thrilled to. The moment I switched our resorts, I felt better. Happier... Almost, giddy! :cloud9:

We will be at Yacht Club for the first time in just 13 days! School is winding down this week and next week will be my full on planning week! If I may ask a couple questions for you guys who have been lucky enough to experience this hotel already!
1. Will the refrigerator hold 3 1/2 gallon cartons? I am thinking of ordering OJ, white milk and chocolate milk. But only if it will all fit!
2. Is there a coffee pot?
3. Where will the wegoshop ladies meet us for a grocery delivery?
4. Are there mugs and where do we fill them?
5. Is there a place by the pool to get a snack? Maybe an adult beverage?
6 If DH has already checked in but won't be at the room when we get there (he is working) can he leave a key at the front desk?

We like the area and usually stay at the Swan or Dolphin but this trip YC worked out as a better choice because of the ME option as we are all on different flights. Thanks so much!

Are you my twin sister separated at birth? We went back and forth - DDP no DDP. We've always done DDP but now that the girls are both Disney "adults" it really didn't make sense to pay almost $50 a day for them and have them order kids chicken nuggets everywhere! So we're just using the TIW card. In order to trick myself into believe we still have the convenience of DDP I've been buying tons of Disney gift cards so I won't feel like we're paying oop - Disney Math!

We were going to drive again but decided to postpone our Hilton Head vacation until we see what happens with the oil spill. So we're going to go at the end of August (hopefully). So we used our AMEX points and now we're flying!

Let me know what you decide - can't wait to meet up!
