Hello!

I'm a long time lurker and can't wait any longer to go to Disney World! I've been trying to find ways to come up with extra money for dw, my dh said "the only way for us to go is if I come up with the money!". I've been following all the great advise and I've got CVS down, I cut all my coupons and I check slick deals daily. I've been able to make a little money on ebay with all of my great finds, but its still not enough. I've come across this opportunity Rodan & Fields Dermatology and wanted to know if anyone has heard of it or has information on it. It looks great, but I'm skeptical. These things always sound to good to be true!

Thanks for any help.

This may not be something you could do, but this is how I make extra money for our Disney trip. I umpire softball for our local high schools. It isn't to much money to put out to start and I work as much as I want. I also referee football. There are plenty of opportunities to as much as I want. In a years time I have made between $1600 to $2000 to put toward Disney. Just a thought for anyone that is interested.

Only 3 weeks til Disney. :cool1::banana::woohoo::woohoo:

Try signing up on Simple GPT. It's a website that has offers that you can complete. They did have paid e-mails also but they're not working now so we haven't been receiving any lately. It won't be a lot but I'm hoping to have made $100 by the time we go in September. You could make more if you spent more time at it, I don't spend more than 10 to 15 minutes at it a day. You'll need to create a "junk" e-mail account. You'll need it ;) I would find a way..... it's been almost 5 years and if September doesn't hurry up and get here, I'm gonna go crazy :scared:

If you're any good at planting flowers, you could do that for elderly people who are no longer able to get down in the soil and plant the pretty annuals they like at their homes. They are always so happy and greatful for the help and it will make you feel good too.

I am in the same boat as you are! I have the opportunity to join a friend and her parents in the Bonnet Creek condo, so I am scrounging to make $ and take my 5 year old on her very first trip. My husband and 2 year old son will stay behind, and I hope to make more this way in the next two years for a bigger trip for the whole family.

Anyway, this is what I am doing to pay for THIS trip:

  1. I used frequent flier miles for our two airline tickets. (My friend will pick us up at the airport in the family's rental car.)
  2. I am going to cash in My Points points for a Walmart gift card which I will use for a few grocery items (snacks, water, etc.) when we arrive.
  3. I signed up for Quick Rewards and in a few weeks have made just under $50, so I hope in the next 5-6 months to make at least that much more!
  4. I have made $15 in 3 weeks on Swagbucks, again hope to make $50 or so more before the trip.
  5. I signed up for MyView and MySurvey, have already cashed out for $10 for MySurvey thanks to a labor intensive but big payout beverage survey!
  6. I am doing surveys on SurveyHead, have $70+ after a few weeks though I have not received any cash yet and I have heard they take a long time to pay out.
  7. Somewhere along the line I got hooked up with a gum research project and have already gotten paid $50 for my participation.
  8. I sold old, unwanted gold and made $166.
  9. I wrote 100 product reviews for Shopping.com when they had a promotion in April.
  10. I made $494 selling my kids' clothes and toys at a consignment sale. I will have another one October and hope to make a few hundred more. I do the "Just Between Friends" sales and always do well...
  11. I am going to participate in our neighborhood rummage sale and hope to make $200-300.
  12. I will be scouring the house for things to sell on eBay or Craig's List.
  13. I sent an old digital camera to Gazelle.com and got a few bucks for it. Also sent some Playstation games in, we currently use our PS2 as a DVD player and no one plays games, so why not?!
  14. I am actively looking for rebates and being good about sending them in.
  15. I am trying to be a good coupon clipper and am banking what I am saving using coupons and adding it to my Disney fund.
  16. I am putting $10-20 in each week, or whatever I can take out of my spending money and not miss!
  17. The relatives who know about the top secret trip are planning to give my daughter Disney giftcards for her October birthday. (We go in November.)
  18. I do occasional surveys for Pinecone Research and get $3 per survey.
  19. I went through all of our old books and sold unwanted ones at Half Price Books.

I won't make/save a fortune, but I have already come up with $1200 of the $2000 I wanted. I did make a budget and am obsessive about tracking every penny spent for the trip thus far, I have no idea how realistic my food budget is, and I will contribute a bit for the condo and car rental/gas, of course.

Good luck to you, I am sure once you start to look around you will find a bunch of ways to save money for the trip!

thanks for sharing the info....I love finding more ways to save for WDW!

My favorite way to save is "change". We have a change/coin jar. On Fridays when we go to the bank we get a roll of quarters or dimes. Depends how the budget is sitting. We find we can easily take $5 or $10 out of our checking each week and don't notice. Crazy...sry...we will spend cash if we have it on hand but change is another story. No way are we going to order pizza and pay with quarters :) We also put our change in the jar every chance we get. We usually save apx $800 a year. I have a daycare if I take a drop in for a friend it's "extra" money. Instead of spending it I get it in quarters or any change for the jar. The ladies at the bank thought we were a little strange. However the first time we took it in and cashed in $778 for our first WDW vacation they couldn't believe we saved that much in 10 months.

it's garage sale season, good way to get rid of all those CVS freebies. Made $1000 on two impromptu sales last year

garage sale - quick fix for cash, I do it on a Friday and Saturday. Try to get a friend or two to bring over there stuff so you can advertise as mulit- family.

Plato's closet - you can take you clothing there and they give you cash for it. But they like the more trendy name brand items, they do take purse, wallets, shoes and jewerly.

Change jar - adds up quick

Ebay - Craigs list

consignment shop -

Could you baby sit? My friend watches 2 little girls in her neighborhood once a week so that the mom and dad can have date night. She charges $10 and hour so she make anywhere between 40 to 60 dollars for 1 night. She also watches in her home a couple of neighbor kids so some of the moms can go shopping or whatever. She normal makes between 100 to 200 a week extra. Which she calls her mad money
I have another friend that watches an infant in her home 5 nights a week, the mom is a nurse and works the midnight shift. She drops her off at 10pm and pick her up at 8:00 am the next day. For 50.00 dollars a night that 250 weekly.

Carpooling - saves on the gas budget.

Book traders -

Game stop - if you want to sell - music, videos, games.

Ask for visa gift cards for birthday & anniversary. Tell the family members that's what you want and why. My friends give me mickey gift cards and I save them for our trips.

Cut out all the fast food, Say once a week you would run through McDonalds, take that money and put it in a disney fund.

If you work outside the home - take your lunch and snacks and what you would spend on lunch put that away too. Normally people spend between 8 and 10 a day eating out.

Let us know how you do.

do you live in a city? try googling your city name along with "focus group facilities" - sign up with as many as you can. I made $125 last week for 3 hours of work $40 this week for 1 hour. The easiest money you will ever make.

If you have never done a focus group before it is just sitting around in a group giving your opinions on the topic.

I use to do GPT site and MyPoints, etc to earn extra cash for disney. I still do...lol. However, I am the new owner of FairyTaleTreasure and that is my Disney money. You complete surveys and earn money. There is always contests going on for extra bonuses. Check it out.

Thank you all so much! I'm having a garage sale this weekend and looking into some other ideas given. I'll be there in no time :cool1:

There are some great ideas on this thread! Thanks for sharing everyone!!

If i were you and you wanted to go to disney really bad, get 2 bottles of any soda you like. My wife and I are medical coders/auditors.
Every year companies beg for help meeting year end coding/revenue goals. This starts in September.
HCC coding is also big and runs through late January.

My wife received a call from a company to assist with a project through January, decent money. She offered 20 hours a week. They asked for referrals and they brought me on for 20 additional hours a week. The contract was extended from Jan 31 to June 30 this afternoon if we want to work longer. That's an extra grand a week from our side jobs to save for Disney. I'll take it.

How did you get going with this? What kind of training do you need to code and audit?
