Room service pizza?

Hi, I was thinking about getting room service when we are staying at BLT, as I thought it would be cool to eat dinner watching the fireworks from our room:cloud9: and I thought the children would enjoy the novelty of ordering in the room.

But we are on the dining plan (regular) and can't really justify 'wasting' 2 x credits on room service or paying too much for OOP.

So........ I was wondering what the room service pizza was like and how big it is? (we are a family of four, but our boys are only 6 and 3 so won't be eating much).

I thought maybe we could order 1 pizza, just so that they get to experience room service (without us spending a fortune!), but would 1 pizza be more like a late night snack or a real meal?? Just trying to gauge the size really and whether it was worth doing as a treat!!

Many thanks for any info!:thumbsup2

We ordered room service pizza at CR in January and it took 4 credits - it counts as 2 adult meals. It was probably 14" - 16" it was plenty big because it was so disgusting we couldn't eat it  Seriously we ate less than 2 pieces. We were on the DxDDP so luckily the appetizers and desserts were awesome! We love room service but we definately not order the pizza again.

My DB convinced me to order room service pizza last summer at POR after a really long day and to this day I still regret it! I wish I had just saved my TS credits and ordered QS from the food court. We order pizza a lot at home so it may have tasted better to someone who doesn't eat a lot of pizza, but I don't even know if you could really call it pizza because it had such a weird crust. He only ate one slice and I had two but didn't enjoy it at all and we never ate the desert and didn't drink all of the 2 litter soda it came with either. I didn't want to completely waste the food so the next day I brought two slices to the food court and warmed them up in the microwave. I swear I had pizza 4 times for dinner that week which definitely wasn't what I had planned! No more pizza at Disney for me, unless it's at Wolfgang Puck Express!

Now it's been years but we ordered Pizza at the WL once and it was delish!

Maybe it vaires resort to resort.

Yeah, there have been reports that if you order pizza from room service at a deluxe resort they consider it the equivalent of 2 adult room service meals (which works out to 4 adult TS credits per pizza - now that is a really expensive pizza) whereas if you order it for delivery at a moderate or value the cost is 2 adult TS credits per pizza. So if you want the kids to experience pizza in your room, you might use your credits elsewhere and call a non-Disney pizza delivery from offsite. There are some reports that the Disney pizza isn't very good, either.

thanks everyone - I think I will steer clear of the pizza then!!!:goodvibes

I guess I can send DH to the contempo cafe and he can bring us back a burger - cheap room service and no tipping either - ideal!!!:rotfl2:

thanks for your posts:thumbsup2

If Contempo Cafe serves a large pizza (I am not sure that they do - I believe the value/moderate food courts do) your husband may be able to pick one up for 2 CS credits if he carries it out to the room.

thank you :thumbsup2- that could well be another option for us then!!:)

I would just call a local pizza place and have it delivered instead (and save the credits altogether for another time)

Is it possible to order from somone offsite? Have many people actually succesfully done this?

I ask because WDW is private property and not just anyone is allowed to operate their business there. Since Disney sells pizza through room service, are they going to allow somone, who they could stop to compete?

There have been plenty of posts in the past saying that pizza can be ordered from offsite to the Disney resorts, including from Dominos, Giordanos, Flippers and Papa John's. They will likely not deliver the pizza directly to your resort room. You would need to pick it up and pay for it in the resort lobby.
