Subscription renewals!

I just received my Taste of home that I paid $4 for 3 years thanks to the budget boards. I am not even one year in the subscription and they are asking me to renew. My subscription does not end until June 2013. What is funny is the renewal price for one year is $10. I think it is funny and wonder if people really do this?! Just a little vent. Thanks:)

Taste of Home has some really crazy administrators. I love the magazine, but I don't think they know how to run a business. I got my mom a gift subscription for Christmas one year. She never received a single magazine, and they asked me to renew! They told me several times that they got it sent back to them because they had the wrong address, (NO WAY...Because they sent her other offers!). Just crazy. Finally had to send about 4 emails before I got it canceled and a credit. It's a good thing their magazine is good, otherwise, I would have canceled my subscription too!

many of those magazines hire an outside company to take care of renewals. So don't always blame it on the magazine itself -- I am sure the editor would love to get an email from you explaining that you have a 3 year sub and got a renewal......she or he needs to know those kinds of things.

How did you get the $4.00 deal? Or is that expired? I saw some of their cookbooks on QVC and signed up for a free issue that hasn't come yet. BUt it just came out the other day with a new issue in my Target. I usually subscribe to magazines magazines.com and have an automatic renewal. No mail that way.

Taste of Home was by far the most over-the-top about sending renewal notices of any magazine I've ever had. I think a small forest of trees lost their lives to become paper each year for the renewal notices I got, both for my own subscription and for a gift subscription I had ordered for someone else. And when I finally cancelled (loved the magazine but after a while just wasn't getting a chance to read it anymore)...oh wow, I thought the "just one last offer" cards would never stop coming! I finally contacted the editor and told them to please STOP because they were wasting time and paper.
I'd contact the editor as a PP suggested. It wouldn't hurt, and it might help.

:offtopic:You can sign up for 1-4 years starting at a little less than $5 for the first year. The link is here. I signed up for 4 years, and it took about 8 weeks before the first one arrived, but it did show up.

Back to the OP, when my first issue arrived in my 4 year subscription, they sent a renewal certificate :scared1:

I really like the magazine (one of the few I am willing to pay for), and it is one that DW and I both read, but they do have some crazy business practices.
