Lunch at Teppan Edo? Experiences? Good or Bad?

I was just reading the menu and noticed the pricing and menu for lunch and dinner are identical. Are the portion sizes also identical? How do they do this with the DDP? What is included?

Thanks in advance. I appreciate the help.

We really liked Teppan and would definitely eat here again. DS loved the show and food. He even ate with chopsticks and did a great job. As for the lunch/dinner portions, I've only eaten there for dinner. We were on the dining plan. DS got an entree and his dessert was a fruit cup. I also got an entree, but could get a dessert. I knew how this would end, so I ordered ice cream. DS ate the ice cream and we took the fruit cup with us. I was a little disappointed in the fruit cup and he also did not get an appetizer at Teppan. This would not keep me from eating here though.

We usually go to Teppan Edo on our last day before heading back to the airport. We usually go around 12:30 and the portions are always very good size. My guess is that since the price is the same you get the same size portion for lunch and dinner. We have never had a bad meal there and are looking to going back in Aug.

I have done both the dinner and lunch at Teppan Edo and both were terrific! My only complaint was I was soooo full after lunch that dessert had to wait! :rotfl:

We've done dinner, our family took up the whole table so it was just us. We enjoyed it, the food was good, but for us typical as to other experiences at that type of place. It was VERY salty so if that is an issue, tell them ahead of time or they "pour it on" we're a family that rarely if ever uses salt, so for us, not telling them, was really awful...but when we spoke up, he did refrain for my food......

I think I am the only person on the boards who does not like this place. No one in my party of 4 adults liked the food and our waitress was very rude to us. It was everyone's least favorite place the whole trip.

Never had any experience with rude staff there.

If you are on the regular dining plan, any entree (including steak and combos) plus steamed rice, a dessert, and a beverage is included. No soup, salad or other appetizer is included. If you are on the deluxe plan you may add any appetizer except sushi.

We ate at Teppan Edo for lunch last September on the Regular Dining plan and were stuffed afterwards.
We all loved it so much that we recommended doing our 1 of our 3 family meals (for 18 people aged 5-60+) here in August.

I'm guessing/hoping the portions aren't any bigger than they were at our lunch last year b/c if they are, we won't be able to walk afterwards ;)

I've eaten both lunch and dinner there as this is one of my favorite Disney restaurants. No difference in price or quantity. The dining experience is identical.

They don't take TIW but if you are an annual passholder you can get 10% off lunch on weekdays (possibly not valid on holidays)

Never had any experience with rude staff there.

I'm sure our experience was just one of those exceptions. I was just mentioning it because it was part of our dining experience. My SIL wanted to order sushi and pay OOP while the rest of us where going to use a TS credit. She looked at my SIL and said "Well I will have to ring up two tickets!" in quite an annoyed way. My SIL said, "Ok, that's fine" Then she rolled her eyes at her and stormed off....she was obviously not having a good day but it kinda took us by surprise.
