We're going to Il Mulino for the first time this weekend. We're happy that they're now accepting TiW. Can anyone recommend any particularly good dishes or drinks?

I agree with you about Il Mulino and TIW. This is one of my favorite places at WDW and getting the 20% discount just makes it that much better.

I usually get a pasta dish there and they have all been very good. As for drinks, the wine list has a couple 2006 Chianti Classicos by the glass; great wines!

We have eaten at Il Mulino for a few years now and have found the food and service good. You can check out my review below from October 09.

We love this place!! I had the chicken parm and it was HUGE (and quite tasty too) I also had a meatball appetizer that was out of this world. DH and DS split an order of sauteed calamari for their appy and they both ooed and aahed over the sauce. I believe they also have housemade lemoncello at the end of the meal if you want a nightcap ;)

We will be going to Il Mulino in July(celebrating my birthday!!). I picked this restaurant because
we have never been and I just love good Italian food. So,reading these reviews makes me happy!!

We ate there for the 1st time our past visit a week ago. (we also have TIW;) so we thought we'd give it a try).

It was very good. The food is excellent. We sampled the meatballs which were probably the best meatballs I ever had! My dh had the snapper which was excellent. DD had the chicken parm which was also, excellent which was ordered off the kid's menu. It was a pretty big portion but it was served a la carte (no sides). We did get her a salad, next time I'd probably split it with her as the salad was fairly large. I got the tortellini alla pana. (the 1/2 portion which was huge for a 1/2 portion!) It was good as well but nothing really special, it was very rich, I probably would have liked a vodka/pink sauce a bit better. The alfredo was good but there wasn't much to it. I did sample both DH & DD's dinners so that was fine.

The one thing I HIGHLY RECOMMEND as we waited too long to say something is to NOT sit in one of those side rooms. We were sat in a side room with another party of 6 and they got obnoxiously RUDELY loud by mid-meal. I got up at the end of the meal with dd because I couldn't take it anymore. They really needed their own room as you could hear them in the bathrooms! I think the more they drank the louder they got.

And we did move to a table in the middle of the restaurant which was MUCH better. I should have said something in the first place (next time FOR SURE!) They even comped us dessert which was very nice and unexpected. And, the dessert was yum. DD and I split the chocolate torte which had whipped cream and amaretto cream on it, home made all the way, delicious!! DH had the pistachio ice cream which was also home made.

I would definitely go back as the food was very good, the service was excellent but I would for sure not sit in a side room again!:thumbsup2 (we still heard them at our table on the other side of the restaurant when we were eating dessert ;))

DH and I dined here this past March. It is one of our favorites. And yes the acceptance of the TIW card is a wonderful plus. The menu is huge and the portions are huge. The service is impeccable. On our last visit we were surrounded by large tables of conventionners, and although they were loud it was not unbearable.

Here are photos of what we had.

Appetizer salad with walnuts and pears

The famous meatballs mentioned in some earlier posts. They are fantastic

Entree Spicy chicken and saugage. A little too spicy for me, but you can asked for it to be less spicy.

Entree of Linguine with pancetta (Italian Ham) and onion in marinara sauce

Go and enjoy. We had a very leisurely paced meal and enjoyed it very much.

We've eaten here twice now! both times very very good! My dad loves their veal parm. I've had their chicken parm which is huge and very good and a pasta dish which was ok i don't remember which one. My mom has had pasta both times and enjoyed it. We've also have the Prosciutto & Melone which is very good. For dessert we had the tiramisu and it was the best I ever had!!!

Thank you everyone for your helpful replies and great photos. We are really looking forward to this dinner and being with DS, DDiL, and baby GS. It sounds like we made a good restaurant choice!

I have not eaten at the WDW version, but the one in NYC is great. We usually have a large party and have the servers craft a family style menu. We've never been less than very pleased with the result.

With the odd exception of a clunker dish or a bad day, you're not going to go wrong there. Pick something you like or something you've never had but find appealing. It will be good.

Il Mulino is one of our favorites. One of the best things about it is that they offer half portions of their pasta dishes at a lower price, and it's more than enough food for me. The service is great as well, attentive without being overbearing. I highly recommend it!

I can safely recommend:

Italian margarita (alcoholic)
pollo fra diavolo (spicy)
potato gnocchi with bolognese sauce
the pizza (makes a great appetizer)

and for dessert, the tiramisu

See if you can request to be in Howie's section. Best service we've ever had!
