My husband & I have not been to Disney since we were children-- we are taking our boys (4 & 6) to Disney for the first time in October. We are driving and will arrive in Orlando around 10pm & will be staying at the Pop-- we plan to sleep in the next morning & do a late breakfast at Chef Mickey's followed by a busy day at the Magic Kingdom.

So with all that being said-- would you change your plans if you were me? Does Chef Mickey's sound like a good way to introduce my children to Disney??

*thanks*

There isn't a better way than starting your trip off with Chef Mickey's. It's the best Disney Feeling resturant around.:thumbsup2:worship:

absolutely! That is what I would do. And make sure they are wearing their first visit buttons and you tell the waiter that it is you first disney dining experience. Sure to get some special attention!

I think you plans sound great!!! We are also driving in June and are doing the same thing- sleep in and have our first meal at Chef Mickey's. It has become a tradition for us to do our first meal here. It is a great way to start your trip- especially for your children's first time.

:welcome: to the Dis Boards Kentucky Mama IMHO you couldn't have picked a better restaurant or resort to introduce your family to WDW...You did extremely well ! Have a great time...you're off to a great start !

CM is my kid's favorite meal...in fact we are starting our vacation this year right there. There is no better feeling than riding the monorail to the Contemporary, seeing the Magic Kingdom and meeting Mickey & the Gang. No better way to begin a trip!

I admit I have written plenty of posts criticizing Chef Mickey's, but I agree with the horde this time. It is perhaps the best restaurant to introduce your family to Disney. Though the food is often mediocre, the experience oozes Disney magic, and I suspect everyone will have a wonderful time.

Before I even opened this thread, my thought was "Chef Mickey's" Great choice!
