Hi! I am curious to know who out there can talk me into going to HS again? My daughter (12 y.o.) loves the thrill rides so obviously she is dying to go on RRC and ToT. My youngest (9 y.o.) daughter is more like me. We like more of the low-key stuff (Magic of Disney Animation & One Man's Dream). Kinda bored with The Movie Ride and all the action shows do nothing for me. Honestly, I would rather be back at the resort pool. Thank goodness hubby just rolls with the punches and says "I'll go wherever you want to go". Am I missing something @ HS?!?! I just don't seem to get the appeal of this park. Would much rather be at Epcot or MK but want to also make my older daughter happy. WWYD?

TIA :goodvibes

DHS is my kids' favorite park. With the Rock-n-Roller coaster, Tower of Terror, Toy Story Mania, Star Wars, backlot, and Indiana Jones, what is there not to like!!! :)

It's not my favorite park, but there are some nice things there. Maybe you could compromise...morning in DHS, resort for a pool break, evening in DHS?

DHS is my favorite park. I love the thrill rides and the shows. We could sit through 5 sessions of Animation Academy in a row (have only done 2 in a row). I also love the street performers in the Sunset Blvd area. I just love stumbling upon all of them -- they are some delightful actors who do wonderful performances. Paige Turner can pull off some very good one liners. I'm sure she says the same thing over and over, but it always sounds fresh to me. "Where are you from? Long Island? Oh, I love your iced tea." It's also the best place to get a photo with Mickey Mouse.

We LOVE DHS!!!!!! My DS 10 & DD4 look foward to it every trip. I could not go to WDW & not do DHS! Between the rides, shows,(Fantasmic is our fav!), resturants(Sci-fi & MM:lovestruc) and not to mention I think DHS has some of the best shopping in WDW!!!!! I say give it another try. Do some things you've never done there before!:thumbsup2

I used to really dislike DHS but now I love it and cannot live without it. Tower of Terror, RnR, Toy Story Mania, Muppets 3D, citizens of Hollywood, Blockparty Bash, American Idol Experience (which i thought I was going to hate but actually really enjoyed!), I love it all! It's such a relaxing park to me but I always have SO much fun! We usually take it super easy enjoying a nice lunch at Pizza Planet and dinner at 50s (although we are trying Mama Melrose next time). I do love the thrill though and I am known to ride ToT and RnR at least three times each during my visit. I say go! Your daughter will love riding the rides and you can just sit, relax and mingle with the awesome street actors. I could sit there and watch Bucky "Hollywood's Next Leading Man" all day long. :rotfl:

Well, I guess I'm one of the few that doesn't care for DHS. The only reason we are going to the park this May is because of TSM. If it wasn't for that ride we would skip the whole park. My DH does like ToT and RnRC. I'd much rather be at any of the other parks or at the resort pool.

well the nice thing about DHS is its not a huge park like magic kingdom or anything so you could knock it out quickly if you did it in the morning, then hit w/e park in the afternoon :)

LOVE IT!! I love the rides, and the shows, and especially love the drawing classes at the Animation Studios! ::thumbsup2

Awesome! This was my 800th post!! :)

Congrats on your 800th post!!!

We LOVE it!!! Our 3 boys are aged pre-school to pre-teen. As you can see, they love Pixar. For all the reasons previous posters mentioned, it's now our favorite park!

I love RnR and Tot, and Toy Story Mania...Muppet show is cute too. I could live without the rest of the attractions. We usually don't spend too much time there.

DHS is actually mine and DH's favorite park. I love the attractions, especially the Backlot Tour and ToT - and especially Gertie the Dinosaur <3

Now that our kids are a bit older (6 and 8, soon to be 9) we like the park a lot more than when they were much younger. When they were younger, we used to go to the park for 1/2 day, now it is definitely a full day park for us. Like your family, my DD8 is a thrill ride junky while DD6 is not and would rather go to the shows and do the more tame things, like me. My DH, on the other hand, is more like my DD8 and loves the thrill rides therefore he and DD8 goes off to those rides while DD6 and I go watch Little Mermaid and B&B then we meet up later for the rest of the park. The other attractions that they love doing is AIE, Muppets 3D, TSM (at least twice), Star Tours (again at least twice around), Indiana Jones, One Man's Dream, and of course the Animation area is always a must. Add all that with some shopping and walking around looking at all of the sets, you pretty much have our day. Unfortunately, DHS is only a one day park for us, we would much rather spend 2 days in both MK and Epcot.

DHS is probably the Park we'd skip, if we HAD to skip one, but it still has some of our favorite attractions. With all the CGI in today's movie's, some rides like Backlot Tour & Great Movie Ride don't hold the facination of today's generation. My kids have outgrown some of the other stuff, like Playhouse Disney, Little Mermaid, etc. We LOVE Star Tours, LMA Show, Jedi Training, and of course TSM. Haven't done Rockin' Coaster or ToT yet...maybe this year.

I don't think I could "leave" any of the WDW parks. I love them all. That being said, if I was on a super quick trip, say a weekend trip or something short like that, I probably would skip AK and HS because I just wouldn't be able to skip Epcot or MK.

I like the rides at HS (tsm, TT, RnR) but the overall park just doesn't do it for me. I know AK is not always a favorite but I love the theming of that park and prefer it to HS. I guess if I could only do three parks it would be MK,EPCOT & AK. If just two then MK & EPCOT.

It's definitely a half day park for us. We hit TSM first thing (and maybe grab a FP for later if it's not too crazy). Then we do the movie ride, AIE, TOT. And that's about it if it's just DH and me. I may try to catch BB show if the timing is right.

If the kids are with us, they will do RNRC, and we will bring the DGS to the mermaid show and muppet movie.

We don't bother with Indiana Jones, backlot tour, or the car stunt show. Star Tours makes me nauseous. I haven't seen Fantasmic in a couple of years just because we always leave after lunch and usually don't feel like coming back.

I miss Millionaire.

DHS is our least favorite park. We treat it as our half-day park in the middle of our vacation when we need some resort time. We arrive at rope drop and trek up to TSM (which we love :lovestruc). My boys like Star Tours. I honestly think we'll skip Muppets this time. We tried to see Indy, but our timing was off. We got to see LMA and enjoyed that. My boys are scared of ToT and don't love RnRc, so after dealing with the Pixar crowds, we were happy to leave and enjoy the resort pool! (Oh...we saw One Man's Dream which I highly recommend :thumbsup2)

Would love to see Fantasmic, but can't stand the idea of the line. The restaurants on Fantasmic deal don't appeal to us.

I'm glad DHS has its fans, but we'd rather be in the other 3 parks or back at the pool.
