Jazz Kitchen DTD...a question or 2 for those who have been there.

After logging way too much time on the 'food porn' thread I'm thinking I want to try the Jazz Kitchen for dinner but we don't want to sit down for a full dinner. We've been to the JK Express, but I want to try the main restaurant. The lunch menu looks better to me then the dinner menu, but I don't see how we can swing lunch time wise.
Anyway if we wanted to order several apps, drinks and dessert would that be ok in the dining room? Or do they have a nice bar area where we could do that? I'd rather be able to reserve a table vs. trying to find something in the bar.
We'd order enough food that our bill would still pretty hefty, we're not trying to be cheap it's just that the appetizer menu looks better to me.
Thank you fellow planners!

I don't see anything wrong with your plan, and it doesn't sound to me like you're being cheap. Many of those appetizers each cost as much as a lunch entree there. Some people find appetizers as filling as a meal.

I had the same problem as you with finding things I wanted to eat off the dinner menu. We've been for lunch twice though. We tend to be willing to eat at more unusual times to avoid the crowds in the parks and the restaurants. The lunch menu is served 11 AM - 4 PM, so we've been there both at the beginning and the end of that time frame with little wait. It made for a nice break, and we had already gathered a pocketful of fastpasses for later in the day when we went back to the parks.

We're planning to that when we are there on June 1. Figure 2-3 of the appetizers and their bread pudding looks amazing. It took me a whole week to get through that Food Porn thread! Isn't it great?

Yes, you can certainly go in and order appetizers instead of entrees! That's what I plan to do next time - their appetizers look really good - much better than most of the entrees. For dessert, the bread pudding is very good.

Thanks all. Sounds like my plans are a-ok;). I can't wait. Anyone have a suggestion on where to request a table? I was think the balcony, what do you think?
Yes food porn is my hobby! I also love Yelp! reviews.
The last few nights after my family has gone to bed I've passed a quiet hour looking at food! Strangely enough even though I'm a little hungry at that time of night the food pics keep me from getting up and getting a late night snack. Weird?

Food porn, where can I find that? love talking food.

Here is the mega thread that took me a week to go through, but I read every page! Some of the photos from four years ago don't show up. Page 88 (I think) is quite remarkable with many nice Cafe Orleans pictures.

Also if you check out the link in my sig for the Food & Wine Festival there is TONS of food porn in there!

I am sure it won't be an issue, it's a very well run place. One thought about lunch. You can catch the monorail to DTD and walk 1 min to JK. After lunch- right back to the park on the monorail! Did it last year and it worked like a charm.

We just might do that. Thanks for the tip.
I wish we could make lunch there but DH will be busy during the day, we don't get him until 6pm. My DD and I have plans to have lunch at Cafe Orleans and Carnation Cafe, although some of the pics of the nachos at White Water snacks look good! Although we can get nachos anywhere and you can't get monte cristos any old place.

We've done the monorail thing a time or two to eat in DTD. Both at the JK & RFC. :)
And yes, you can just order appetizers for your meal, they won't mind that at all.
