50's Prime Time hands down. We sat in the waiting area last year for an hour laughing at the staff! Great place!

We've been to both. We loved sci fi and it was a tradition to go there, but last year we tried 50's primetime and it's now our new favorite. The server was so much fun, my 10 yr. old dd STILL will break out giggling when she remembers some of the things our waitress "Aunt Janice" said. Very fun!

Sci-Fi is at its best for lunch - burger, onion rings, and a shake, etc.

We did both last year and are doing Sci-Fi again this year. I'd definately recommend trying 50's Prime Time but for us it feels like a been there done that kind of place.

Sci-Fi makes for really good down time as it's dark and cool in there.

I have been to both restaurants several times. I like them both, but would choose Sci-Fi. The drive-in theater design makes for one of the most unique restaurant experienes you will ever have. The food for lunch is much better than it is for dinner. 50's Prime Time is cool and the food is good, but the experience is not as unique as Sci-Fi. An interesting point is that I was at
50's Prime Time earlier this month for dinner. We were seated and out of the restaurant in about 25 minutes. I ordered soup and a main course. The soup came and then the main course came while I was halfway done with my soup. We felt a little bit rushed. I have never had that experience at Sci-Fi. No matter what you choose you will have an awesome time!

I've been to both, and I like both a LOT. However - I would still choose the Sci-Fi, simply because I just love that old Drive-In Movie feel. It is just so unique, and very relaxing. As much as I like Prime Time - it is FAR from relaxing to me. When I EAT, I want to feel relaxed.

However ..... I might also be in the mood for the wonderful pot roast at
Prime Time.

You can't go wrong either way !

Given a choice we pick Sci-Fi. We gave 50's the good old "Three strikes you are out rule" and have decided to never eat there again. Sci-Fi we usually eat there at least once each trip. In our experience Sci-Fi has better service and better food. We experienced a decline in food quality and service during each of our 50s PT visits. But you'll get varying reports because everyone has a different experience.

There have been several great remarks about Sci Fi. All things that I would say...

Great, unique atmosphere
A really nice cool, dark and queit place for a mid day break
Sci Fi is totally at it's best for lunch...burgers & shakes.

We've eaten at both, and our family prefers Sci-Fi. Sci-Fi is very unique with the table cars and the large movie screen playing the old movies. The food is decent (not great, not gross). Service has been just fine. It is very dark, so not the place to read your park maps or books. This is my 2 boys favorite place, because of the atmosphere.

50's Prime Time was like an old diner. Not too bad, food was somewhat bland. I thought it was just OK, but didn't really have a whole lot that would want us to come back over and over again.

I've never done Prime Time for lunch, only dinner, but we have done Sci Fi for lunch. I thought the food at Sci Fi was good but to me it felt like a CS meal at TS prices.

You didn't say who was in your party, but a couple things to consider about Sci-Fi:
If there's just two of you, you will most likely be "hitch-hikers" in another party's car.
If there is an odd number, someone will be sitting in a seat by themselves. Look at the seating configuration of the Sci-Fi cars--just like a real car, you have rows of seats facing forward.

That being said, I prefer the lunch menu at Sci-Fi over the lunch menu at the 50's prime time diner. I do like them both, but I prefer the atmosphere at Sci-Fi. The waiters/waitresses at 50's can be hit or miss. Invariably, the table in the next room has a much more fun waiter that my table had!:confused3
