Okay, on our 1st day we have 1900 Park for dinner.

I can do 4:35 or 7:40. We will be at DHS that day. I have heard complaints of long waits to be seated which makes me want to stick with the 4:35 right when they open before the dinner crowd hits and they get backed up. But that means we will have to leave DHS pretty early in the afternoon.

Which would you do? If we did the 4:35, we could use GAD FP that day so we can get more rides in, but it will be hard getting the shows in before 3:30. If we did 4:35, do you think we would have time to go back to DHS and ride a bit if we had some FP from earlier?

If we do the 7:40, we will be out pretty late after a long car ride the day before. (I don't think we will get to WDW any earlier than 10pm, more likely 11pm)

I have got to get one of these cancelled. So I need to make a decision and stick to it. (Really hard to do for me lately :rotfl:)

I am going to do a poll and do what you say. I am trusting the DIS on this one. :wizard:

Before I respond...I have a couple questions...
1. Will this be the only time at DHS during the trip?
2. Would you be going out after dinner? Where?

Thanks!

This is my only "planned" DHS day. We are trying to go on the least crowded days and it is during SWW. It is the only all green TGM day early in the trip.

We do have one open day left that we can use to go back to DHS if the kids want to. Over the course of 8 days I have planned on 3 MK, 2 EP, 1 DHS, 1 AK and one open day to revisit DHS, AK or EP. I have no clue what they are going to like.

I don't plan on going out after dinner. I plan for us to head back to the POP and get ready for our 1st day of MK the next day.

Hi! It looks like we are going to the world at the same time. We fly in Wednesday morning May 26 and are staying until June 3rd., so I have become very acquainted with the park schedules that week.

I think you should do the 4:35 dinner, and here is why:

I am not sure if you are referring to 5/26 as your DHS day or 5/27, but regardless, if I were you I would do early dinner at 4:35, giving you enough time to either hop back to DHS after (if it 5/26) to see Fantasmic! at 9pm OR (if this is 5/27), monorail it over to MK to see Spectromagic. This would be the best use of your time. You get to recharge with a full meal and then hit a major entertainment event that will most likely be A LOT more crowded later in the week since it is Memorial Day weekend coming up. Food for thought!

Have a WONDERFUL time! 37 DAYS!!!! :cool1::banana::cool1::banana:

Our 1st park day is Thursday the 27th. We will be traveling on the 26th. The only problem with your plan is we did not plan on hopping this trip. I know DHS closes at 7pm that night, would we have time to go back there for a couple of ride before we head back to the POP? I am thinking we would get FP for rides before we headed to dinner. Would driving that day make it more feasible?

Probably not. :sad2: That's too bad, but I understand your not choosing the hopper option. It does save so much money.

In that case, I think you should go with the 7:40 reservation, and in the meantime keep checking for cancellations at 1900 for around 6pm. We are at the window now where people who double booked (such as yourself) are canceling their reservations. Try multiple times a day.

Also, if you feel your kids are starting to get tired over at DHS, you could always leave earlier than planned and show up at GF early. Perhaps they could squeeze you in earlier, if not, explore the beautiful GF in a low key kind of way, to unwind.

I think spending the extra time at DHS will make you feel less rushed to make an early ADR and possibly miss an attraction or show that was on your "must see" list!

If the kids tire earlier, you can always head out earlier and get some R/R at the resort or at the GF prior to dinner.

Enjoy!

The more I think about the more I realize how stressful trying to make that early ADR could make my day.

I am thinking about not rushing to RD that day so we can sleep in a little later if we need to after our trip. (We will probably not get to WDW any earlier than 10pm, but if could be as late as 12am)

I can use one of our GAD FP's that day so the TSM issue is taken care of. Then hopefully we will have time to get in the rides in between showtimes and we can get out of there around 6:15 for our 7:40 ADR.

I am going to mess around with Ridemax only putting in shows and see how many "breaks" it adds in we can use for rides using FP.

Thanks!!

Okay, now I am leaning the other way toward the early rez again. (The poll is no help!!) If we rope drop, Ridemax has given us a pretty good plan for shows and there are breaks in there for rides. If I use the GAD FP....We could do it. I wish Ridemax could take the GAD FP in account in some way.

I am so wishy washy!!!

Not sure if this helps. You might already know that you can "hop" back to the same park you entered earlier in the day... without having the park hopper feature. You just can't go to a different park.

I like dinners when they first open for the reason you mentioned.... having to wait is unlikely. But I've not been to 1900 PF for dinner (yet).

I personally can spend more than 1 day at HS. Next trip will be a full day and night, plus a half day. It's not a big park but a lot of the shows/attractions take time.... and we eat table service there too. We liked fantasmic at night if you have never been and can go on a night when they have fantasmic.
