For people who have ordered skirts from www.runningskirts.com, how do you find the sizing? I'm debating between the 4-6 size and the size 8. My waist fits perfect in 4-6 size jeans but my booty is still on the 8 :). I wear a size Medium in most work out clothes. I just don't want to get one and it's too small where it rides up or that it's too big and falling off of me (both would be equally great race photo's ). What do you suggest? Do the sizes run true? TIA!:goodvibes

Just bumping hoping someone will answer this for me as well! I'm about the same (4-6 waist, 8 booty ;)). I bought two athletic skirts recently and am looking to find out how these fit too. The ones I have are Nike and New Balance brand and are size medium. So I'm guessing I'd be the size 8 for runningskirts.com?

And what happens if you get it and don't like it? Is it a lot to ship it back to them? I see shipping for me is $8 each so I'm guessing I'd be out $16 if I wanted to exchange one.

The only running skirt that I have from Runningskirts.com is VERY SHORT. And I'm short, so you can imagine. I wish that it was longer, I bought a small or an extrasmall (I'm usually a small, but I think it's an extrasmall) and it fits fine, but it's just really short. I probably would have ordered up a size just for a little extra length in the fabric (but I also like my clothing a bit baggy - I'm usually a 2-4, but I almost always buy 4-6).

Maybe you could call them up and ask for more info - I've heard that they have good customer service.

I ordered a Size 2 (a women's 8) athletic skirt in the purple plaid last night. After clicking on "customer service" and then clicked on "sizing information" there's a chart with what their sizes "mean". I found it very helpful to see that there's not much difference between the two so went for the Size 2 as it's longer. I've read very good things on other sites about how if you email them or call them they'll recommend a size to you.

I'm hoping because the athletic skirt is a little longer than the running skirt (and has compression shorts instead of the brief) that I won't feel exposed or uncomfortable running in it. We'll see!

I really wanted to get two of them but I'm holding off until I see how this one works. I didn't want to have to pay the $8 to ship another one to me but I didn't want to deal with having to return them either. It does look like you'd have to pay to ship it back but at least they do allow returns for 30 days.

BTW, I googled "runningskirts.com promo codes" and came across quite a few 15% off ones (they don't give [or show you] the discount until after you checkout, I guess they credit back the difference on the order? I'm not sure how that works yet).

Their skirts aren't cheap that's for sure but they are cute (and very functional). Can't wait to get mine and I'll let you know what I think about the size! Thanks both of you for your input :) :goodvibes

I have the athletic skirt and it is fairly long compared to most skirts out there. I am pretty short (5'5") and it hits just above the knee on me.

I can't help with the sizing though. I got mine three years ago and can't remember what size it was. But, it has held up really well. I only have the one skirt, so it gets washed and worn a lot.

I bought the purple plaid athletic skirt in a size 2 (Women's 8) and received it about 3 days later. I decided to wear it to the 10k I did last Saturday. First, it is super cute (I got several compliments from other runners) and very comfortable (it is so lightweight it doesn't feel restrictive at all) and I love the side pockets. It came down to a few inches above my knees (I'm 5'4") and stayed there while walking around (the compression shorts underneath are attached). The size was perfect and I'm glad I didn't go with the smaller size.

About halfway through the race I reached around and felt that the bottom of the skirt had found it's way up to the bottom of my butt. The front was still covered which is why I guess I hadn't noticed. Now I'm not an extremely modest person and I love the body I have now but there were 7-10 year old boys from local boy scout troops handing out the water at the stations and guiding where to go . Every time after that I would see one approaching I'd pull the skirt down really hard and it would stay there for a few minutes.

I still love the skirt and will use it for other things in the future, just no more races for me :).

I've had a similar experience with mine. I just ordered my first skirt from runningskirts.com (I also have a Champion one from Target and one from Penneys, both have worked out great). I decided to go with the running skirt rather than the athletic skirt just because I am on the shorter side and I didn't want a skirt that is too long plus the shorts under my other skirts always ride up anyways so I thought I'd give the briefs a try. I am between an 8 -10 in normal clothes (smaller waist but J-Lo "behind") so I ordered a size 3. Anyways, the skirt (pink plaid) feels great, fits great....but (BUTT) on my first run the back of the skirt (not the briefs) rode up. I figured I was wearing the skirt too high, yanking it up to my natural waist rather than closer to my hips. So today for my long run I wore it lower, (like the pics on their website); perfectly comfortable, etc etc. But I also wear a water bottle around my waist; on the run the back of my skirt kept bunching up under my water bottle. It wasn't like I was fully exposed, but the skirt did ride pretty high and I had to yank it down every mile or so.

Too bad; very cute skirt and again, extremely comfy, no wedgy, etc. Will have to save for short runs (when I don't wear a bottle around the waist) I guess. :)
