Anyone know of any good cheap deals on tanning lotions? Where do I find them?

I used to run a salon and my biggest pet peeve was ebay. They sell the lotions for less than the salons can even get them for.

That being said, it is likely that you will buy a lotion that is expired. Some of the ingredients may be inactive or not work as well. You will also be supporting illegal practices, as these people are obviously stealing or obtaining the lotions in ways they are not supposed to be, and are not tanning salons... In the beauty industry you are supposed to be a salon to sell the products from certain brands.

If I were you I would keep my eyes open for coupons to local salons so you know your product is not expired and just not go for a top of the line product. The less expensive brands can make some good product. Unless you want the anti-aging, cellulite covering special skin care lotions, the cheap ones will keep your skin hydrated with is the primary goal. We sold a lot of that whole line with the names like "sex kitten" and "sex pot" and they were mostly to repeat customers. I think it was Carribean gold or something? They changed packaging and the bottles all say "cheers" on them now.

walmart has a tanning bed lotion that i bought on a whim because it was cheap and didnt' smell like a tanning lotion.. works great!! and it was like $8. it's with their regular sun lotions.

ebay - but, really, I bought an expensive bottle - 24kt Gold - I tan to get my "base", not year round, and am still using that bottle - I'm on my 3rd season with it.

Australian Gold used to sell a spray you could use in the tanning bed - I loved it. It was a Wal-Mart type item, but I haven't seen it in awhile.

I also have bought from Walmart. It was the exact lotion being sold at the tanning salon. I think it was $4.79. At the salon the exact bottle of lotion is $16.95. :confused3

Have you tried Amazon? I buy my lotion from Amazon, there have some great prices on lotions. I started looking there, after a friend referred me to Ebay. I was on a hunt for alotion that had recently been discontinued. I just couldnt go the ebay route, not sure why... but I wasnt sure I trusted the lotion. I found a wholesaler on Amazon that had the product I needed, and he was 30% cheaper than my salon... so I bought TWO bottles. Good luck!

I use http://www.bestpricetanning.com/

Many of my coworkers who tan use this sight too. We usually just do one big order for everyone. The prices are WAY cheaper than your average salon and none of us have had problems from the lotions. (They always work, some better than others of course)

I don't use EBay unless they are the little sample packets because I'm always nervous someone just put whatever kind of lotion in the bottles. :confused3

I recommend the website tho! :goodvibes

thanks everyone

I normally tan the old fashioned way....working in yard an laying out in the pool but we going to disney in early may got us a house with private pool an I really don't want to worry to much about burning so gettin my tan before I go.....

You probably won't find tanning "on the cheap" anymore -- especially, since the additional taxing of tanning salons was part of the recent Health Care Law.

I realize the OP didn't ask for this, but as a 34 year old with melanoma, I would advise against tanning beds. Tanning to prevent a burn is still damaging your skin. I HATE being pasty white, so I use self-tanners and then put on the spf70+ sunscreen.

Thank you Bridget. As a 45 year old woman who used tanning beds and sunbathed for MANY years, I'm only now waking up to the risk to my health. unfortunately the damage is already done to my face. This will be my first year without a tan.

The rationale being that tanning is not good for your health--like cigarettes, etc. Lots of good fake tan stuff out there these days that doesn't make you look like an Oompa Loompa.

Actually, there are many tanning salons who sell a variety of lotions. You can choose whatever you want (kind of lotion), the more expensive the better. Unfortunately, I didn't try to apply tanning lotion, but I do tanning using bed because it is easy and fast.
