My girls need summer clothes. I have no gymbucks but I do have a 30% coupon. But even with that the shorts are around 15.00 a pair. Were TCP shorts are 7.00 and 10.00. All there bathing suits are 10.00. Plus I have a 15% coupon. And I also have Place perks.

I just figure I could get a ton more clothes at TCP for my money. which do you perfer to buy?

almost exclusively gymboree. the cp clothes have just never held up like the gymboree clothes for my kids.

my daughter likes the CP clothes a bit better, but likes how gymboree fits better. My son doesn't care, but the gymboree knees don't tear like any other brand does!

My thoughts!

It depends how old your kids are. My dd is 7 and would not be caught dead in gymboree clothing. Once in a blue moon she will wear a sundress from there but that is pretty rare. The quality is better than TCP for sure. You can get the bike shorts and knit shorts for under $10 at Gymbo and get coordinating tops to mix and match. If you have a gymboree outlet you can do really well, I have gotten shorts for 2.99 and tops for 4.99.

I get from both depending on the cost and what it looks like. But for shorts & summer clothing, which gets destroyed by my boys, I actually prefer Target.

I like them both, and I feel the childrens place actually hold up better. Gymboree has a lot outfit only clothes and you cannot mix and match them alot. CP has a lot of basics you can intermix a lot. My DD is a little too big for 5/6 but 7/8 is too big from CP, so I have been doing alot of Gymboree this year as the do single sizes, so the fit is better. i look forward to being able to go back to childrens place though. Have you tried Crazy 8? They are owned by Gymboree but a little more reasonably priced and have some basics, my DD6's jeans come from there alot. They hold up as well as gymboree in my opinion and DD is really hard on clothes for a girl.

I liked both stores at those ages, but now I do most of my shopping at Old Navy. I do really well in there with sales, and their stuff seems to be cut narrower which is great for my 3 skinny kids!

I like some of old navy's stuff but for some reason it hates me. It never washes up good for me.

My 7 year old DD loves Justice best, but I really like TCP and think you can do really well there. None of my 3 daughter's really ever liked Gymboree past baby stuff where they didn' get a say. Maybe the kids have a preference?

My 5 year old loves justice. She can wear a 6 from there. We just spent our j bucks. I like it to especially the summer stuff they have out right now. She could use a couple more outfits.
It is mostly for my 2 year old and some of the gymbo stuff is cute but it's not my thing I guess. There is some really cute stuff at TCP right now for summer so I think we are going to go with that.

My DD is 10. She prefers gymboree bike shorts and disneystore t-shirts. She also likes gymboree dresses - the simple ones, not super dressy ones. I never put them in the dryer and they hold up really well. I did just buy some coordinating capris/tops from CP and she really likes them too.

I love the way CP clothes fit on my kids compared to Gymboree. The clothes hold up really well, too. I wish they had single sizes for shirts when the kids are in the in between stage of sizes however I don't mind rolling up sleeves if need be.

Gymboree all the way! I can't stand CP - clothes are bad quality and many tacky designs. I also find some of their styles are not age appropriate - Gymbo clothes are very age appropriate. We receive CP clothes as gifts once in awhile, and they are usually all inconsistenly sized, shrink and fade. Not sure about the above poster's outfit comment - just because Gymbo has outfits, you don't have to buy outfits only. They have tons of mix and match stuff, especially in summer for shirts and shorts. My kids are exclusively clothed in Gymbo from head to toe (we only buy a few shoes there though).

I am a huge Gymbo fan here in Canada as our clothes are such high quality and sales can't be beat! That being said, I have noticed a quality issue between U.S. Gymbo clothes and Canadian Gymbo clothes, so I will no longer purchase U.S. Gymbo clothes.

Good luck in your decision, Tiger :)

My ds is almost 4, and we buy a lot from CP. However, we don't have a Gymboree locally, so what we do buy is on-line and during sales that I read about on-line and I like the clothes, just prefer to shop at the stores where I can look better.

That being said though, I typically buy most clothes from Kohls, then Old Navy, then CP.

I prefer Children's place. The clothes seem to fit DD better and just look so much more comfortable. I get stuff from Gymboree once and awhile and it usually gets pushed to the back of the closest or to the bottom of the drawer.

I prefer Gymbo stuff but I won't pay the $12-20 retail for it. If you wait it out a bit they'll put the mix n match t's and shorts on sale for $7-10 each and then use a coupon on top of it to bring the price down.

I just redeemed gymbucks and got DD6 some tanks & shorts for $3.99-$5.99 before gymbucks.

Is Gap an option? I never pay full retail price because things go on sale a few weeks after they're released, and they hold up *really* well. Gymboree isn't my style, and Childrens Place, which was great for when DD was a newborn... now just kinda sucks. Their styles and quality just aren't there.

my DD who is 5 also will not be caught dead in gymbo. she use to and it was cute, but she says it's too babyish for her now. and i agree she doesn't look right in them, plus i havent been crazy about their new lines. she LOVES LOVES LOVES justice and i would say 90% of her clothes are from there, and gap. i am a true gap lover for quality.

I have little boys but I used to buy and re-sell used clothing (yardsales to e-bay). I will say this about Gymbo vs TCP. TCP resells for about 1/4 what Gymboree does. Kind of says something about the quality of their clothes.
