Tell me about Capones

We are thinking of trying it out our kids are aged 7-12...what others would be better and do you know of any good deals? Thanks Kat

Out of all the dinner theatres in the Orlando area it's the least expensive and has the worst show, based on a mobster/flapper speakeasy theme. While most theatres bring you out courses to eat at Capones you serve yourself from a buffet and can get all you want. If you're a beer drinker they keep your glass filled. so they do try hard, it's just not that good. I wouldn't take smaller kids to it. There's no bad language or risque behavior, I just don't think they'd find it to be that entertaining. If I had kids that age I'd take them to either Medieval Times, Pirates Adventure, Arabian Nights or Outta Control. All of them have been reviewed here, just use the search function.

We enjoyed Capones. I think the kids would enjoy Arabian Nights better. Food was not that great at either place. Capones is an all you can eat. Your family would enjoy either one.

We took the kids last time we were there and they had a great time, BUT my kids are teens and are both real drama geeks and loved the cheesiness of the show and the fact that our waiter was part of the act.

While the food isn't great, it filled up two teens and DH and I had several glasses of wine, so it was worth the cost to us!

We opted out of doing Capones for our trip in March. I booked Arabian Nights thru Undercover Tourist for a total of $110 Us for the 4 of us, we plan on doing this in November. We are staying at our timeshare Vacation Villages...so therefore my hubbie and I can both enjoy a few cocktails with supper

The show itself is pretty horrible...corny, dated, with little semblence of a plot. There was an improv bit in the middle that was just awful, could hear crickets chirping--it made me appreciate how good the shows and actors at Pleasure Island really were. Arabian Nights and Medieval Times do a better job at putting on a spectacle that might keep kids' attention.

The food is actually decent, tho--I put it at about the same quality as Boston Market, and has been mentioned, it's all-you-can-eat. And while it won't do anything for your kids, they kept refilling glasses all night--the only reason my friends and I didn't bail at intermission.

Every "tourist guide" around town seems to have a coupon for this place. And if you friend them on Facebook, they offer some great deals (sometimes even $20), although often with just a couple days notice.

Outta Control Magic Show is the best!!! Great for both kids and adults. Arabian Nights is good too but be sure to do the VIP thing if you do it; they let you run around in the barns and watch the horses getting ready if you do, and the kids can even sit on a horse for a picture.

Maybe it was our general vacation joy, maybe it was the beer (kidding! the adults each had one glass of the domestic tap, max) but we really liked this show. We still quote, "Chicago...Illinois" and "Lily St. Regis...like the hotel."

Are we just easily amused? I don't know. We liked Dixie Stampede but didn't really care for Arabian Nights and were okay with MT. We do Broadway, and off-Broadway too, and like some and don't so much like other stuff--and the opinion is not always consistent within the family, that's for sure!

I do want to try the Magic Show that's been mentioned, I've been hearing some good things about that, but I would encourage you to consider Capones. Make sure to use a coupon and don't expect gourmet food, regardless!

Have fun!

They stole this line from "Annie". "I’m Lily St. Regis from Jersey City. You know, like the hotel."

We are considering going to this dinner show, mainly because it's the most affordable, the closest to our condo and it has a variety of food with the all-you-can-eat buffet.........and beer :-).

I hated Capones. Went on my honeymoon with some friends that live in the area and I was a little embarassed that I took them all there instead of somewhere ANYWHERE else. The "waiter" gave us a very hard time for not drinking alcohol, it was way too dark, terrible food, awful jokes, and pressure to buy the photo they take before you walk in.
