Le Cellier

Had lunch at Le Cellier for the first time March 21, Sunday. I did not like the cheddar soup or the tomato stack (recommended on this board frequently, and by our waitress). Did LOVE the Maple Creme Brulee. My husband thought the filet was delicious. Pretzel bread was ok. Would go again just for the dessert even though I was not impressed with the appetizers.

well I do like the prime rib but I dont care for the tomato stack....I do like the cheddar cheese soup but only a small bowl.......some times it is very powerful....I do like the pretzel bread though.....
My neighbors did love the salmon and our grandchildren did love the chicken... I did see the photo of the pan seared scallops..those looked amazing..
I had the raspberry sorbet and chocolate moose.....gotta say my husband licked the plate clean on the cream brulee......good taste you have too

We just went there last week for the first time - I thought the NY Strip was very good but I don't think it was the best meal I had at WDW. The smore's stack was pretty excellent though!

I just ate there on Friday, March 26. While it wasn't the best meal I've ever eaten, I did enjoy it a lot! The Creme Brulee was my favorite part :D

Thanks for the replies- I was wondering if I went on an off day. Yes- I think the soup was overpowering- I thought maybe too salty, but that didn't seem quite it. Pretzel bread was good- but it tasted like a pretzel- I guess I may have been expecting more- I'm not sure why, but I think I was.

I love the soup..Mushroom filet amazing with cream cheese mash potatos..

Hopefully it was just an off night..

To be honest, I only tried Le Cellier this October because we never had, and everyone here always raves so I wanted to see what I was missing out on! My daughter and I weren't impressed. :( The cheddar cheese soup which we were so excited to try wasn't great. The pretzel bread was alright but not what I expected. All the things people raved about were so-so for me. I guess after all the hype, I expected more! But you know, everyone has different tastes too! The places I love to eat at Disney aren't necessarily the places other people have enjoyed. I guess that's what makes Disney so awesome! :)

They WERE amazing. The scallops are the reason that DH and I are going back to Le Cellier in THREE weeks. The crab and corn custards were also fabulous. (appetizer)

We had a very nice lunch there last Saturday (April 3rd) and the cheese soup was so good. Everything tasted very good in spite of our server dropping a tray of filled glasses on our table and onto my just served entree and my lap!! The whole restaurant went quiet and several servers rushed over to clean up the mess. Luckily, my shirt was only a little wet, but I had to walk around the rest of the day with ice tea spots on it!! They brought me out a steak salad and the manager gave us a fast pass for one attraction of our choice.

That's it ?!?! They would've had to get me a new shirt , a handful of fast passes AND a comped meal if a server spilled liquids all over my food and shirt...You didnt complain enough hun. That's really unacceptable . ONE fast pass???He would've been forking over 5 by the time I was through with them . Im sorry but you said you had to walk around with a stained shirt all day..They should've replaced the shirt AND comped the meal for your inconvenience. Im not a scammer and out to get free things but that scenario would've seriously pissed me off .

Yeah - I thought the one fast pass was a little cheap and I even commented to my daughter that at Animal Kingdom last summer a CM at guest services gave us fast passes for three attractions after she made a mistake on the expiration date while upgrading my ticket to an AP and it took her extra time to correct her error. My daughter thought that maybe they would give me a coupon for a new shirt or something. I just decided not to make a big deal out of it because my daughter is 17 and she does get embarrassed if I speak up about stuff like that in public. This was her senior spring break trip and I didn't want to ruin the meal any further since we were really looking forward to it. They replaced my entree very quickly and everything was fine after that. The shirt dried quickly and I doubt anyone was really looking at my stained shirt during the rest of our time there. If anything they were probably looking at the lovely black and blue bruise on my cheek which was the result of a filling I had replaced a few days before our trip and the dentist's mirror was so wedged in my mouth that my jaw was so sore I could hardly open it and it left a nice bruise that two weeks later is still here!!

We have reservations for October so please let it be good. We tried to eat there last year but they were booked so we ate at Coral Reef. I liked Coral Reef. If we don't like it then I guess I will be forced to eat a frozen banana afterwards.

We ate there on Monday for lunch.

The cheese soup tasted a LOT like beer to me, I don't see that mentioned often on here so I think it's worth saying, I hate when my food tastes like alcohol.

The pretzel bread was good, tastes like Auntie Anne's as opposed to Philly pretzels.

I had the mussel app which I thought was great! The maple creme brulee was delicious.

The cream cheese mashed potatoes are also VERY cream cheesey. I know that's stupid and obvious but while I love the taste of cream cheese some people (like DH) would have preferred it a little more subtle.

Well, I am convinced to try the creme brulee after reading this thread!

If you like the pretzel bread, they serve the same thing at Biergarten. It tastes great dunked in their potato leek soup. :)

I am considering an ADR at La Cellier for my next trip.
I don't eat meat so this is very much for DH as he loves a good steak. I am still undecided after reading this :confused3

Linda - my daughter doesn't eat red meat either and the last couple of times at Le Cellier she has ordered their potato gnocci (I am sure I have spelled that wrong) and says it is really good. She also cheats a little and does have the cheese soup even though there is a little bacon in it. That is the only thing she will cheat on and she is only 17 so I tell her to go ahead and enjoy the soup because it is a special treat and so what if she has a little bowl of soup.

Thanks - It seems to be one of the places that you just MUST try so I think we will give it a go on our next trip :thumbsup2

We have ressie's for our upcoming trip. I love beef, especially steak, I mean give me a cow and I am one HAPPY lady :lmao: I'm really looking forward to our meal there, I'm not too keen on heavy soups so I don't htink I'll try it but I am already planning on the creme brulee.
