this is a bad weekend with easter on sunday. but we have to get together some kind of a northeast meet. theres you , me, commando , ktme , mike mijo all live with in a short drive and i know theres a few more. will have to hit a cracker barrel since that seems to be a place we all like to eat!!!:lmao:

:lmao: commando, i wounder how many of these guys would remember hogans heros, f troop or gomer pile? :lmao: most of these guys grew up with more than 10 channels on there tv like we did. remember the rabbit ears? i was lucky, we got cable when i was about 5 so we got 2-13 but before that it was 3-6-10 and pbs.:lmao: my dd seen a dial phone at a friends house and asked, what is that? it even has a cord on it! how do you take the phone into the bathroom?:lmao:

I do - watched them all, granted in reruns, but I watched them all, and enjoyed them too! No cable in my house growing up, no cable now. Fancy that. I'm not a sports junkie and we're just too cheap to pay for it. We don't watch much broadcast anymore anyway - just don't care for what's on these days. Way too much "reality" junk IMO. Most of what we watch is TV on DVD or movies, or PBS for DD.

I watched all of those too (except F-Troop - never really got into F-Troop). I even remember watching B&W Mickey Mouse Club episodes (in syndicated reruns). Spin & Marty ftw! And my first car had the gas cap behind the license plate. It was a 1967 Buick Special in Electric Blue - it was a hand-me-down from my grandfather, and I joked that my car was a year older than I was. :rotfl2:

The fuel pump started going out on it after about three years, and replacing it was going to be expensive, because it ain't easy to find a 19-year-old fuel pump (made for a car that originally ran on leaded gasoline). So I used to have to drop it into neutral at stoplights/signs and keep feeding it a bit of gas with the pedal, or it would die. It only had lap seat belts and, of course, no airbags. But it was solid steel and a big, heavy, four-door sedan. I was only ever in one accident with it, and the Fiero that rear-ended me had a hood that was bent up at a 90-degree angle. I had a red paint-smudge on my bumper. :lmao:

wow, tutter your down to 19 days!!! emmas dad down to 29 days!!!! and my wife wont let me go till december!!! ive tried, "your going 3 times in 10 months thats enough and you were just there 6 times in 3 years!" may have to look into getiing her replaced!!!:lmao:

:lmao::lmao:

It was really just a weird chain of events, we wanted to take DS before he turned 3 so his visit would be free. Three months later they sent us a "bounce back offer" for even cheaper than the first stay so we couldn't pass that up (especially since they still listed DS as free not 3). That was the trip we decided we would join DVC but waited a few months to think it over. Once we joined they had a matching points bonus so we had to use them up by last October. We were only going to stay in April this year but then the DisDad trip came up for December and my bright idea to run (walk/crawl) the Expedition Everest Challenge this year turned into a weekend trip.

Last 3 trips when DS was just under 3, just over 3, and 4 we averaged just over 16 rides on IASW per trip. I use the time to either:
1. Try to look really close at areas to see all the little details.
2. Watch DS's reactions and whatever seems to have caught his eye.
3. Completely zone out and use the time to reset my brain.
4. Clean the camera lenses
5. If the boat has anyone who looks really ticked off to be there, annoy them more by swaying back and forth to the music and singing along. Repeatedly saying "Isn't this amazing?" seems to work too (of course being 6'8 gives me a little more room to annoy people and not get attacked).
:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao: Too funny tutter!

I wish they still made them like that. Damn this fuel economy thing!

My two year old LOVES IASW....therefore, I grudgingly road it about 7 times on our last trip.....

I still wake myself up screaming:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Been there done that. What dads won't endure for their children.

It was painful. Luckily my daughter has outgrown IASW and knows that I do not like it. Sometimes she is an evil child but even at her worst, she won't pull the nuclear option and ask me to ride it.

:thumbsup225 more pages till disdad iv !!!!! i nominate don to start the new thread again!!!!:thumbsup2

Yeah hey needs to set it up before he cuts out in 29 Days.

What would we do if it shut down while Don was in WDW. :scared1:

So Don...you have 28 days to set up the DDC IV...and 27 Finish your TR. :lmao:

My daughter is starting to drive soon and this is the type of car I want to get her. That or a tank.

We got our first color TV when I was about 12 or so. The only color shows on that I remember were The Wonderful World of Disney and Bonanza! It was a couple more years before we got cable. Before that, we had an antenna on the roof that was good for 3, 6, 10 and 11.

This weekend will probably be bad due to the holiday. Let me know when you will be at Cracker Barrel and I'll see what I can do.

dw and i were just talking about last night on the way home. we pay $86 per mon. for expanded cable. no movie chanels or anything. i watch pbs, history, travel, discover ,tlc and i watch comcast (phil. flyers) and thats about it. dw and dd could live with out it, they dont realy watch tv at all.

This is the quick and easy T-shirt design I came up with using VistaPrint's site. Like I said earlier, I'm not computer artist so I didn't even attempt a mini-van. The shirts come in white, ash grey and black and run about $7.25 each with another $4.00 or so to include the printed back. I don't know what shipping is. They also have hats for around $14.00, I think.

:lmao: i forgot about bonanza!!! :lmao:

I can watch my DD eyes light up on IASM. It will probably be only a few more years I can do this before she is 'too cool' to ride it. :goodvibes

The "when" is hard to figure out. We were thinking of doing BBB with dds (8,5). Oldest wants to do it, but youngest does not. If we wait until the youngest is older, will the older one still want to.

:lmao: commando, i wounder how many of these guys would remember hogans heros, f troop or gomer pile? :lmao: most of these guys grew up with more than 10 channels on there tv like we did. remember the rabbit ears?

Your signature line "37 years" of vacations means you have had more Disney vacations than years I have been alive. I do remember Gomer, from re-runs. I had the rabbit ears as a child, and even when I moved into my 1st apartment. I was cheap. Then I had children, went to Disney, and never found a budget again.

My two year old LOVES IASW....therefore, I grudgingly road it about 7 times on our last trip::lmao:

We did Figment ride 4 times in a row one year for dds. They love the skunk fart. One spark of light . . .

We had one window A/C growing up, and it was in my parent's room.

We had air growing up, but my dad, now 78, did not run it out of fear of the next depression. Guess that was why we only did one WDW trip. So, when I moved out of the house, I only ran the air on those rare occasions. After DW and I got married (ok, so a little before), she complained about not having the air on or sleeping with the windows open. The things we do for love or

Channels 5-11-19 here. Yes we had a Party-line...my folks still have a Dial Phone...with a mechanical ringer.

Gomer, Hogan's Heros, McHale's Navy. I vaguely remember F-Troop.

Speaking of Gomer...check out one of our local Weathermen...I with I could find a Video of him...sounds just like Gomer.

Well Gooolly. http://www.foxtricities.com/pages/3519551.php? :lmao:

we had only 3 Chanel's when i was growing up...bbc1 BBC and itv and they all stopped about 11 at night and then didn't start again till about 10 the next day.we didn't have these programs....for us it was zcars and steptoe and son and are you being served on a Sunday.

oh and my phone number as a kid was 564....nothing else.

oh and a big thanks to Emma's dad...i can now multi post so no longer feel insecure on this thread :thumbsup2
