What is it exactly? and when did they first begin doing it?

After I get some answers I may be able to share some exciting news for my family...

It began late summer 2009. It's an all you care to eat dessert buffet that begins seating about an hour before the Wishes Fireworks display at the MK. You can find all sorts of threads/pics on the DIS and allears.net. It went on hiatus but is now booking again through the end of May.

Thanks for the info on that! I wasn't exactly sure...

The reason that I asked about it was because I think my family may have been the pioneers for it!

On our trip in May 2008, we got to have our own private dessert party in front of Crystal Palace. We had our own little area roped off, with desserts and sparkling cider and a camera man took pictures as we watched the fireworks together! :goodvibes

It was THE BEST trip I have ever had or will ever have! :cloud9:

If you want to know more about it, see my trip report in my siggy...but I never did finish it, lol...maybe soon!

It actually started before late summer '09. We did ours at the beginning of July '09, and it had started before that. Not sure of the exact date, but all one has to do is do a search on here for early reviews, and I'm sure the answer will be there.

thanks so much for all the info!

like i said, my family did something similar in 2008, which is why we are thinking we were the "test" family...

i'll post some pictures here later!

I apologize if some of them are pretty bad...it was bad lighting, lol

you may be able to see that crystal palace is right behind us...the little alcove there was roped off for us!

Needless to say, it was THE BEST night of my life! I will never forget it, and neither will my family! We felt like such celebrities :cool2:

Was that part of the Million Dreams? If not how were you chosen?

no it wasn't part of the Million Dreams (though we tried to get something throughout the whole trip! haha)

we had been in contact with someone at Disney, getting tips for our trip, etc. and they liked our story so much they did all of these wonderful things for us (there is even more in my trip report -- see my siggy)

I see that card on the table says "Happy 60th Anniversary" so I'm sure that had a lot to do with it as well! :wizard:

haha, yes it did!

we were there to celebrate my grandparents' 60th Anniversary, as well as my grandmother's 80th Birthday! -- two incredible milestones :cool1:

How wonderful for you and your family! I'll bet it was somewhat of a test event but also because of the special occasion. What wonderful memories you have now!:)
