1. There are 2 pools: one at the resort which does have a water slide and one at the beach house which is the beach access for the resort-it does not have a water slide.
2. Not a pet owner sorry.
3. Savannah is an easy day trip we have done(about an hour), but Charleston is a farther away for a day trip. Savannah is fun and very beautiful with lots to see and do. We also have enjoyed going to Beaufort SC for a day trip -on the coast, historic and close by.

We love HHI(so much so that we just added-on a second time there for 11 month window in summer) and go yearly to relax inbetween the craziness of our annual wdw trips. It has an amazing beach(beach house has everything you need for your beach experience), the resort is convenient to everything and the setting on Shelter Cove gives you the marsh, boating views. We have oftern watched dolphins and kayakers from our porch during morning coffee! We are on our was June6-10!

Thank you for all of your info :)

I have never boarded my dog there, but I have read good things about Evergreen Pet Lodge. I think they offer a discount for DVC members. I looked into this a couple of years ago but decided to board my dog close to home because I felt that the ride was a bit long for him.

Savannah is the perfect place to come! Come and spend Money!

When are we talking aboutr Give me a idea and I'll try to find out what is going on around here.

If you come in the Summer, the Sand Gnats may be playing!

We are hoping to come the end of April (2011) if we can get it
we own OKW so we need to try at month 7...if not OKW here we come, LOL!!

I have heard that Savannah, ga is very beautiful and I am very interested in seeing it, hope we can :thumbsup2

You should be able to get end of April for 7 months out. Summer months are the hard ones to get at HHI. Hence our reason for buying our add-on at HHI as we love our summer week here!!!

I have used Evergreen Pet Lodge several times. We had a great experience, The last time my dog was a "geriatric" boarder - she was 16. They took very good care of her. She had eye drops that needed to be administered faithfully, twice a day. Miss a day and her eyes would get horrible, when we picked her up - her eyes were clear as a bell.

In the process of adopting a new puppy - and we plan on using them in the future!!!

We're commin to HH this Saturday for a week. Anything going on?

The big thing around here is the Savannah Music Festival. Take a look at this website for information.

The Sand Gnats start playing soon, but, not until the 8th.

The Boss says that the beach is real nice right now, but, I haven't been down there in a month, so, I can't tell you for sure.

Not much else going on otherwise.

We are coming to the end of a wonderful week on HHI. We loved our 2 bedroom villa, the marsh view, the general vibe of the resort and the feel of the island. To the OP, we did day trips to both Savannah and Charleston while we were here and really enjoyed both. Savannah is easier than we thought, about 45 minutes with no traffic (same distance as Beaufort). We did the hop on hop off trolley tour, tried to figure out ahead of time where we wanted to get off and felt like we saw a good portion of the historic area. Charleston is a long day trip, I agree, but all of us (me, DH, and DDs 14 and 12) felt that it was well worth it. The drive takes between 2 and 2 1/4 hours, and we had a great lunch when we got there and then took a walking tour of the historic area (mostly south of Broad Street) and then walked the major shopping street and visited a few other areas. We were exhausted when we got back in the car and got back to HHI just as it got dark, but we were really glad we made the trip. We also spent a wonderful day on Daufuskie Island, which was lovely and more fun than we expected and had a great kayak tour. There's so much to do around here! We are very bummed to be leaving and can't wait to come back!

Hello! I would have posted this in the resort availability forum but this is my first post and need to get 9 more before I can post to that forum. So here goes:

3/27/2010,VB,E,23-24

(which I believe is code for "I called on Saturday March 27; no 2-bedrooms available at Vero Beach on Fri April 23 and Saturday April 24". Right?)

Hope this helps someone.

Have a blessed Holy Week, everyone.
