Are the Kidani thermostats locked so that you can't set them lower than 68 degrees? :confused3 If not, then ours is broken because it won't go lower. The villa is too warm for me and I'd like to cool it off but no such luck.

We had this problem last trip.....really a problem for us because we prefer sleeping in a very cold room. During the day we're fine with it being warm, but not at night.
We tried various overide keys posted here on the boards (sorry, don't have them now), but nothing really worked. We ended up calling housekeeping/maintenance because we weren't able to sleep.

Same here. It wasn't as bad as I expected but the room was a lot warmer than I am used to. Were they able to change it for you so that you could get the room cooler? I'm going to call to see what they can do to change it for us.

I had the same problem in January. I would understand if they were trying to save on the air conditioning bill, but we were froced to heat the villa to temperatures warmer than were comfrtable for us. We ended up just leaving the sliding doors open. Not a big deal, but in hindsight I should have called the front desk to get it adjusted.

Same problem at night...The override would not work...We had to get up several times during the night for the motion sensor to kick on to cool the room...What a pain!

Mainitenance did come and 'fix' it, however, it kicked back the next day to how it was. I plugged in the override codes several times each night, and would finally get it to work. Then in the morning we would get up and be freezing, and I would again plug inthe override several times before it would work.

Any chance of someone posting the overide codes????

Please! I could use them, too. From what I can see, they did nothing to adjust the thermstat while we were in the MK today.

I've read if you tie a balloon near the vents it moves around "sensing" someone and the a/c stays on.
I hope you get cool......I hate waking up having to go start that stupid sensor and being sweaty at night

A common problem at most Disney resorts. We were just at the BCV and ours would go past 68, but that is unusal. I hate it when it gets hot during the middle of the night.

I forgot about the room temp. My dh and I felt we would have liked it a few degrees cooler. My brother and his family were fine with it.

That does work...Only problem is that you are not supposed to have balloons in the Animal Kingdom resort...They make you sign that form that says you agree not to bring them on property...So some people may not feel comfortable breaking the rules...I know I don't...Sorry to be a spoiler...REALLY!

I keep my thermostat override instructions in my OL, but I did a search and found these instructions:

Press the power button and the down arrow button simultaneously. The letters "bp" should appear in the display indicating you are in "bypass" mode. Then you can use the up/down buttons to set the temperature. You may have to do this every 24 hours or every few days.

The sensor by-pass for our kind of thermostat was simple--I just pressed the "off" button and both the temperature "up/down" buttons all at the same time. "BP' appears in the thermostat, and then it operates as most other themostats in most other hotels in the US

And yet another:

The thermostat has two buttons on the left (ON/OFF and AUTO/FAN) and two buttons on the right (UP and DOWN)

1) Press the ON/OFF and AUTO/FAN buttons together. The digital display will change to 'CA'.

2) Press the ON/OFF and DOWN button together. The digital display will change to 'OR" (or something similar).

You have just deactivated the motion sensor. This will last for three days at which point you will have to repeat the process.

TO CHANGE AC THERMOSTAT SETTINGS THE THERMOSTAT HAS TO BE PUT INTO "SERVICE MODE" IT IS SIMPLE TO DO BY PRESSING THE FOLLOWING KEYS ON THE FRONT OF THE THERMOSTAT.

EXECUTE THE FOLLOWING SEQUENCE:

1. PRESS (AND KEEP PRESSED) THE F/C KEY

2. PRESS (AND RELEASE) THE OFF/AUTO KEY

3. PRESS (AND RELEASE) THE DISPLAY KEY.

4. RELEASE THE F/C KEY.

UPON SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETING THIS SEQUENCE, THE LCD WILL DISPLAY PAR (PARAMETER) AND THE PARAMETER NUMBER.

1. PRESS THE UP ARROW KEY AND SCROLL UNTIL # 6 APPEARS. (NEW MODELS # 24)

2. PRESS THE OFF/AUTO KEY

3. THE CURRENT LOW TEMPERATURE IS DISPLAYED.

4. PRESS THE DOWN ARROW KEY AND SCROLL UNTIL THE DESIRED ROOM
TEMPERATURE APPEARS
5. PRESS THE F/C KEY

This one above seems to have worked. I called this morning to complain again and the room was at 72 degrees when we got back again tonight.

I just reset it to 66 so we'll see if that works. Thanks for the instructions!

Glad it worked for you.

"I keep my thermostat override instructions in my OL"

What a great idea! I didn't think I could stuff one more thing in my Owner's Locker, but I probably can fit a sheet of instructions in there.
