We are hoping to do Ohana for dinner. Allears said the kids meal was rather "short". Does anyone know what they offer? Our kids don't eat hamburgers and will probably be tired of cheeze pizza or chicken nuggets by the end of our trip!

Weve only eaten Ohana once and now it is a must do, but when we ate there, they didnt offer our kids anything different. They bring out the food in large portions and you sit around your table and share it. Suprisingly, our kids really enjoyed it and they are not much on eating meat. I am a vegetarian and they brougt out a special dish for me and it was great. This is a meal we are all looking forward to for our upcomming trip. The meal consist of noodles, salad, wings, steak, shrimp, pork loin, bread pudding. I think that is everything.Im sure if Im wrong someone with more experience will pipe in!

I am pretty sure that the Ohana meal is served family style, so your child is welcome to eat whatever/as much as she wants from the same platters that the adults are served from.

I'm pretty sure the "short kids menu, available on request" means that if your child refuses to eat the Ohana meal, they can rustle up a more traditional kids meal (hamburger, chicken nuggets, etc.) from somewhere.

We had nuggets and fries for our little one at Ohana. I don't know what other choices they had. They also brought the little ones a scoop of vanilla ice cream with sprinkles.

When we were last there, they offered to bring our DD chicken nuggets and fries...made for a really peaceful meal!

That makes me feel better. Our kids are not generally picky eaters but I don't see them diving in to what is served. Plus, my son has a life-threatening nut allergy that would make family style hard for him. Thanks for the help!

THERE IS A PEANUT SAUCE SERVED AT THE TABLE. Let your server know before food is brought to the table.

yes..my kids were able to get burgers and fries when we went in sept.
Also.. let them know when you book and have them confirm when you check in at the podium.. that someone is allergic to nuts. They will have the chef come out and help you deal with options so you can have a great experience.

I am allergic to shrimp and pineapple.. and go figure.. we ate there.. lol but the chef was great. He came out and spoke to me about what I was not allowed to touch or taste. Then made a couple things differently so I could have a great meal. Wonderful experience.

In 2008, they asked DD (then 6) what she wanted and she said a grilled cheese and fries. They said no problem. She enjoyed it.

Our DD was also able to order grilled cheese and fries. She also nibbled on the "adult" food too.

I think they can order anything on the Kona Cafe kids menu. I know my picky DD had mac and cheese last time we went there, the other 2 loved the regular Ohana offerings.
