We have 2 days at MK, and on one of those days we are planning to do a TS lunch. Since we're already going to CRT one day for dinner, and Crystal Palace one day for dinner, we want to go someplace different. No desire to go to Tony's Town Square. We will have a 3-year-old and a 5-year-old with us, both boys. Right now we have an ADR for Plaza, but we would change it to Liberty Tree Tavern if it is better there. Which one of these two would you choose? Both look really good to us, and it is tough making a final decision. Any comments, specifically on something you ordered and loved for lunch, would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

I LOVE Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch. I especially love their pot roast! Plus, being a history geek working in a colonial era museum, I love their costumes and the decor of the restaurant.

We did go there for dinner on our last trip, when they still had characters. The decor was very nice, as were the costumes. That's one of the reasons we are considering it for lunch on this trip.

We've been to both places, too, and I would also go to LTTavern. The Plaza is good, but LTT is special.

What do you order at either place for lunch? The Colony Salad at LTT looks wonderful, as does the salad at Plaza with strawberries in it. I know people rave about the ooey-gooey-toffee cake at LTT and the ice cream at Plaza.

We like the Plaza better than LTT. It has a nice atmosphere and the food is good. yummy desserts. IMHO, I am not crazy about the colonial theme of LTT.

I had the colony salad at LTT which was wonderful; at the Plaza, I think I had a reuben, which was also wonderful. We did not have dessert at either place. The selection for us is based more on atmosphere than food quality, which is quite good at both places.

OK, so I guess DH and I will base our selection on the menus, and I am also working on our park touring plan. I'll see which one it looks like we will be closer to at lunchtime before canceling the Plaza and booking LTT. I do love the atmosphere at LTT though! And looking at the kids' menus, my boys would like either place.

We LOVED LTT for lunch. We'll be eating there again in just over two weeks. :goodvibes I ordered the Colony Salad on our last visit and will definitely order it again. It was wonderful.

I voted for Liberty Tree, but the answer ultimately depends on more than just food quality and individual taste. Both restaurants offer delicious dishes, and it is hard to prefer one to the other because they are quite different.

If this lunch will be your primary meal of the day, definitely choose Liberty Tree. No matter what you order, you will leave stuffed, because the fare is filling and more substantial. The Plaza is essentially a glorified counter service location, which is not an insult. The menu consists of mostly sandwiches and salads, compared to turkey and pot roast at Liberty Tree.

My family has its main meal at dinner, so we would ultimately choose The Plaza in this instance. But you can't go wrong here.

If you're looking for a lighter (and possibly healthier) meal in a relatively quiet (for Disney) restaurant, I recommend the Plaza. They have great salads, sandwiches, etc in a nice, bright, but quieter atmosphere.

We've done both, but we definitely prefer The Plaza Restaurant. The Plaza has become our traditional last meal before we head off to the airport or to the beach at the end of our trip. We have never had a bad meal or bad service and the desserts are to die for. :worship:

We have eaten at both for lunch and really enjoy each location. However, if I had to choose just 1...LTT hands-down.

We have our bigger meal at dinner too, but would get one of the lighter choices at LTT...for example, DH would probably get a sandwich and I would get the Colony salad.
