Just made an ADR for Garden Grill, any information about this restaurant would be greatly appreciated. Party will consists of three adults and two little girls, 7 and 9.

Request a table on the "lower" level.

You will be able to see more of the Living with the Land attraction from there as the Restaurant rotates.:)

Rae---I think we're at WDW at the same time. What night are you doing GG? We might be there the same night!

Menu is very limited (Salad, steak, turkey, fish, veggies, stuffing, potatoes & a blueberry grunt) it is also family style... so be prepared for that. The dessert was wonderful and the steak was very good. The rest was merely OK. We actually found the turkey was way overdone, but from what others have said, it might have just been the night we were there. They do have kid friendly offerings (nuggets, fries and a kids dessert) if you need/want them. We actually did get fries as DS didn't care for any of the sides.

Ditto on requesting the lower level. There are big booths you all can sit in, and the view of the land scenes are better. Enjoy! it's a lot of fun. Chip & Dale like to get silly sometimes. Ask if they've come to serve your food... they just might!

We ate there in December and liked it a lot. Our favorite was the fish (i love steak but like mine on the rare side of med rare, so it was overdone for me). The turkey was good, I dont like cornbread stuffing, so I only had a small portion. It would be one that we do again, if the kids want to.

My boys say they have the best chicken nuggets. They are crispier than the other places at Disney, like the ones at Hollywood and Vine.

Don't expect too much from the food. IMO, what keeps my girlfriend and I coming back is the character interaction. The restaurant seems to be smaller than places like CM or CP so the characters aren't rushed to get from table to table. Last time my girlfriend and I had an on-going joke with the characters throughout the meal that we still chuckle about.

I agree with the pp, lots of great character interaction, Goofy would not leave dh alone! But, we also really enjoyed the food from start to finish, and it was neat knowing that some of it came from the living with the land area (or am I completely wrong about that?).

when can you request the lower level, when you book it or when you arrive?

Use to love this place, then they changed the menu. Ate there in Dec. and thought it was terrible. The veggie is sliced brussel sprouts, the mashed potatoes tasted like they had cinnamon in them, turkey was dry. Beef was okay, salad was alright, characters were great!

I have only eaten at GG once but I really liked it. Since the menu is limited your experience will be shaded a lot by whether or not the menu is to your liking. You can see what is offered here and here and make your decision based on that.

The character interaction was great. The restaurant was really slow the day we went and we got to see the characters multiple times. I would do it again if it fit into our touring.

we really enjoyed it last october. weve never done the ddp before, so i dont know what we missed out on before. as a pp said yes the veggies come from the living with the land ride. we found the food to be very good. i even ate the salad- i never eat salad. i even ate the beef and it was pretty rare, hint of pink and im gone- not with this stuff! dh ate the mahi-mahi and really liked it. chip or dale kissed dd's hand like a prince(she still had her crown on from the bbb). our waiter was amazing! we'd get half way down with our drinks and hed be there in a heartbeat with a refil.

i did however get very dizzy from the revolving. strange that that kinda think would never bother me before and once i had kids i got dizzy from it! lol

great food, great character interaction. We sat on the lower level on our last trip a few weeks ago. It is actually a very private dining experience because you can't see any other tables when you are sitting at your own table. The kids really enjoyed watching the view change as the restaurant moved.

My family just ate here on Feb 25 for my daughter's first birthday. This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. The food was tasty and plentiful. I can't believe how much salad I ate. :thumbsup2 I am a vegetarian while my husband and son are not. We had the greatest server, Ellyn, who was excellent and made sure that all the food she brought out (like the salad and veggies) were made vegetarian. She was also super about making sure we had enough to eat or drink. And even offered to pack up our dessert to take with us. My husband loved the food, especially the flank steak and dessert. And to be honest with you..I hate brussel sprouts..hate them.. But I gave them a try and I actually really liked the way the chef made them here!

The character interaction was wonderful! This was my daughter's first experience with the characters and she handled it like a pro! Chip, Dale, Mickey and Pluto made sure they visited our table at least four times while we were there. Dale even played Peek-a-Boo with our little girl. It was a fantastic meal and we cannot wait to go back!

Definitely see if you can request Ellyn as your server, she was amazing!

We sat at the upper level and hated it. It was too cramped, and you could see that the CMs just shoved stuff randomly in the little nooks in the middle of the restaurant.

The characters were good, mostly, but they all seem to come by so fast.

And the soundtrack for the Living With the Land ride was too loud.

The only thing I did like was the food, but it sounds like that changed (I don't remember brussel sprouts). I thought the mahi mahi and beef were good.

But I don't intend to go back.

I love the Garden Grill! You sit in a booth, so its nice and private, and the reastaurant slowly turns. We have been to the breakfast, and its brought to your table, and Mickey and friends came around for pics while you were eating. Its a nice place to relax, and its fun to be in the same building as Soarin, so you could ride before you eat, pending the wait, OR get a fast pass for before your dinner time so you can ride, eat, and then ride again if you'd like! I love THE LAND pavillion its in, and also remember its located on the same floor you walk in on, which is nice for anyone in a wheelchair or EVC. Hope this helps!

when can you request the lower level, when you book it or when you arrive?
You can have it noted on your ADR.

When you check-in at the Restaurant say:"We would LOVE to dine on the Lower Level if anything is available and we don't mind waiting a little while.":)

this by far our favorite restaraunt for casual relaxing meal. We've been eating there since it opened and have always had decent food. We might not have liked all the changes thru the years but overall one of our favorites.
