Atlantis Resort and crowds

I was wondering if someone could tell me how long the lines can be for the Atlantis water park slides during spring break. We have a room at the Comfort Inn, but it is still a pricey excursion and I want to make sure we will get our $ worth.

We went during spring break last year and the lines weren't too bad. Some of the lines were worse than others. I think the longest we waited in line was about 15 minutes, but that's because something happened with the slide right before it was our turn to go down and they had to fix whatever was wrong.

If you notice the lines are too long, just hop in the lazy river. It's easy to spend hours there. It's the best lazy river I've ever been in.

Also, for some of the slides, you wait in line in your tube in the water. I found it made waiting much easier.

We also booked a room at the Comfort Inn and I felt like it was definitely worth it.

Thank you for the information it was very helpful. I think my kids will enjoy the day at Atlantis.

We're going next April on the Dream and I know things can change by then, but what are the specifics of booking a room elsewhere and using the Atlantis property. Which properties offer these reciprocal services and are there any details that would be important to know?
Thanks!

According to this board, the Comfort Inn is a great deal. I booked directly through the Comfort Inn website. This is my first cruise and Comfort Inn experience, so I am trusting all the advise that I got on this board. You have to take your own taxi, plus there are a lot of extra fee involved with the Comfort Inn, but it still is less expensive than the Disney excursion.

We went in August and are a family of 5. I took my 3 boys to the CS (since 4 people are the max,) and DH had to book through DCL and meet us at Atlantis. We had a great time! The crowds were not bad in the morning up until about 12 or 1pm. After that, they started to get heavier on some of the rides. (When we decided to go back to the ship, DH took the taxi back with us instead of going back with DCL transportation.)

That's good to know. Thanks. The rates aren't out for next April. I guess I'll keep checking. What would be a good rate for CS?

From what I remember, the rates changed based on the season. You'll be paying much more during peak times than during the off-season. Honestly, I think if the rate is lower than Atlantis or the DCL excursion and you really want to do Atlantis, any rate would be good. I'm sure you can go to the CS website and price out different times of the year to get a good feel of how much it'll probably cost.

When we went in August we paid a little less than $200 for the room. We then looked for an upcoming cruise we were taking over SB at the end of March and the prices were at least $300 for the same room. Once we added in DH's ticket from the cruise line ($165) the day got very expensive!

As it turns out, we are not going on this SB Disney cruise....we are trying a Carnival one that does not go to Nassau.
