We are sailing next week and wanted to know how the weather was as well as any other info you'd be willing to share?:cheer2:

We didn't go to Grand Cayman becasue the weather was so bad. Castaway Cay was beautiful, next time we will hopefully and try to do the one that stops twice at Castaway Cay!:cool1: Have fun!!!:thumbsup2

The outside temperatures were pretty good, but the wind was freezing. We had 2 wet sea days and it rained later on our Key West afternoon and overnight. Cozumel was warm but cloudy. Nassau(instead of Grand Cayman) was warm out of very cold wind. As someone already said, Castaway Cay was just beautiful, but the wind came straight on to Serenity Bay, so no swimming!!! I think the family beach would have been wind free.

Inside the ship the corridors, cinema and Animators Palate were cold, so take cover ups.

Great cruise and loved it all.

Serenity Bay on Castaway Cay was very very cold and windy. But we did find a ton of star fish (or are they sea stars?) and a sea cucumber. And you could walk out into the bay really really far. We went back to the family beach were it was much warmer, but not warm enough to swim for a long time.

It was amazing to walk out so far wasn't it? Yes, great seeing the all the big starfish too, but we never saw the sea cucumber.

It was about 1/2 way down the beach and looked like a muddy sock that was filled with rocks. I'll touch anything, but not that ...eww.

Hi there! It was fun, but definitely chillier than we thought it might be. My son actually slipped and fell on Monday at the pool. It had rained most of the morning and the pool had just opened up. He ended up sick as a pup from Monday night thru Thursday morning. He went out a bit on Thursday but still felt a little pukey. :-( Friday was so nice at Castaway Cay! Weather was finally the warmest it had been the entire trip and Noah was back to normal! We drove home to NC yesterday and called his doc on the way home and actually took him in this morning just to check things out and make sure his bump on the head was truly that, just a bump. He checked out fit as a fiddle but doc told us to check in with him before our next cruise and he would give us some zofran in case it happened again during the next cruise (the three day vomiting).

Gosh, I only wanted post that to lead into this advice, start the dramamine early and keep it in your system :-) We were definitely rocking and a rolling for sure thruout the cruise. It was my 5th cruise and was the most I have ever consistently rocked and rolled as well. This was our son's 3rd cruise and we had never had the issue of him getting sea sick before. We will be better prepared the next time!

Truly enjoyed my week on the Magic (first Disney cruise). The weather was not the best as others have said, but Castaway Cay day was so much nicer; warm/sunny. That was the best day of my cruise (all were really great but I loved CC).

I wore shorts and capris and I was a bit chilly. Be sure you take a hooded sweatshirt and a wrap or something for your shoulders at dinner.

Disney really was great as far as not taking chances going to Gr Cayman with bad weather and to also be so fast in making sure we had a place to go vs an added sea day! They had a new Navigator out later that evening and were happy to assist those with new shore excursions. I really thought that was a class act!

Booked 5/29/11 on the Dream for hubby, ds, dd and dsil. They were so excited when I got home and told them the news! Hubby and I will celebrate our 35th anniversary next year and we felt it would be a nice family trip.

Just off the 2/20 cruise, too.

2/20 - leaving Port it was nice. At least the sail away party was outside.
2/21 - Key West - was raining.
2/22 - at Sea - rainy I think. It was cold outside.
2/23 - Cozumel - nice!!!! Best weather of cruise.
2/24 - forced day at sea since they cancelled going to Grand Cayman.
2/25 - Nassau - WINDY and CHILLY AS ALL HECK but sunny.
2/26 - Castaway Cay - too cool for swimming but people were doing it anyway. I passed on it.
2/27 - going home day was COLD. High of 40s? Too much like Chicago! :)

The poor weather definitely had people on edge. Saw many confrontations and was involved in one myself. Some VERY rude people shoving us as the pirate party was moved indoors due to rain. I tried to be nice but realized you just can't talk to/reason with a rude person.

A heads up that myself, my DH, and our tablemates at dinner all came down with the flu. I asked our head server because I noticed a few servers in the dining room from Palo and he said that a couple servers were ill.

It didn't hit me until the last day and I have spent all weekend in bed. Heading back now. Quite the welcome home present! :guilty:

The cruise was wonderful.. just hard to remember that when I feel this bad! Everyone take care of yourself!

Hi All!
Just recovering myself from having to resume normal life again! Boo!! Crazy windy here in Maine... the trip was to say the least, an experience!! We had two kids down with vomiting, the boat was a rockin and a rolling, and the weather kept us on our toes!! Briefly:
2/20- cold start but the sun was shining, lifeboat drill got warm-sun was baking us as we waited.., capris on the deck and sweaters- fun send off, but very hard to see from deck 10- if you have kids 10 and under, go down, adults don't really care if your kids can't see...
2/21- Key West, got off when we could (11?) and it was sunny and warm...wore shorts and short sleeve shirts- walked to Hemmingway's, got key lime pie and over and up to Duval Street- back around 4, and the clouds had come in, raining by 4:30- we were supposed to be there till 1, but doubt anyone went out in that rain...
2/22 Day at Sea- Rain till 3:30ish?? We had Palo Reservations for Brunch which was SICK!!!! CRAZY amounts of delish food!!! Yum!! The pools were packed by 4 and the sun was out- lots of body butter crammed into those hot tubs and pools!!
2/23 Cozumel- sun and hot! The port was a new terminal, but the locals were overly aggressive and pushy- a real turn off- we headed off to Nachi Comun? Beach - unfortunately, 1 child was sick, so my hubby stayed behind with her- the water was VERY warm- and it was nice to get a lot of sun- Would NEVER return to Cozumel due to the town- yuck!!
2/24 We were supposed to go to Grand Cayman, but due to high winds and higher seas, we had a sea Day- and I don't think it was a good one- did some classes, kids went to the clubs- believe it was cloudy all day...
2/25 Nassau- Wicked windy and rough seas- sunny- but due to the 45 mph winds, it made the warmth unnoticeable- we headed to Atlantis for 160 a pop (love how 10 year olds on Disney are considered adults!) but, again, we had another one down with vomiting, so it was just 4 of us- it was so windy it made it cold, we could not get enough towels to wrap ourselves in! we left the property at 2:30- after it took DCL 2 hours (met at 9:30, finally got there at 11:30) to get to Atlantis- it was a crazy rocky night steaming to Castaway Cay-
2/26- Castaway Cay was PERFECT! Couldn't believe it!! We went to the very end of the family beach, much less crowded, and played in the sun and sand- I did the snorkle trail solo, so the water was fine- our kids played in the water most of the day, but the little play structure was closed most of the day... head to the edge of the family beach or even over to the sports beach, no one is there!
2/27 Port Canaveral- Freezing- rain with frozen chunks...46 degrees? Rain stopped by the time we headed to the airport- which was 1:30...
So, there is our week in a nutshell!!
