There is a room-only discount out for the end of our trip (we decided to stay at POP the last night b/c we fly out early the following morning and are staying DVC the rest of our vaca). Can I get the DDP with that rate as an AP holder or do I have to wait for the AP rates to come out to get the plan?

Thanks!

You will need to book a WDTC AP ticketless package with whatever dining plan you want. (Assuming you do not want to have a MYW package that includes tickets.)
Have no idea what room rates are for when. You will need to compare when you go to book.

I asked the same question and was told that you have to have an AP specific rate to be able to add the dining plan.

You can book a passholder room plus dining plan package at rack rate for anytime through December 31st. If you want a passholder discount, right now they are only available through June 3rd. YES, you may get the discounted rate with a passholder dine package. Not sure why so many people think you have to pay rack rate. That is simply not true. If passholder rates are out for your dates, and you want the DDP, simply tell the CM at CRO that you want a passholder plus dine package with the current AP rate. (assuming your resort and dates are available) We book this way all the time. HTH. :goodvibes

I could be wrong, but I believe that the OP was referring to the general public room only rates. If that is the case, then I was told that you could not use this rate and get dining without also adding tickets.

If the OP was wondering if you could add dining to an AP room only rate, then absolutely you can. We have the AP 45% off deluxe rate plus dining booked for the end of May.

Hmm, now I see what you mean. I took it that the OP was asking about AP rates. You are correct; the only way to get a ticket-free package with the DDP is to have a passholder + dine package. This can't be done with anything but rack rates or AP discounted rates. With any other discount, you must purchase a ticket.

Hi -

Right now we have a room only discount for the POP 4/17-4/25. We are considering getting annual passes, and have GAD vouchers. Should I get our AP's before we go ( can I do that and use the GAD vouchers) to get a better discount? I think we got the 30% off rate at POP for when we are there. And, if the PIN fairy blesses me with free dining code, how would that play into it all? Any good number crunchers out there willing to help???? Thanks!!

You would have to wait until arrival to be able to use the GAD vouchers to upgade to an AP. Only one of you needs one, to secure an AP rate room. As far as the discounts and free dining code, you will have to choose one, you cannot stack discounts. If you are staying value, free dining is usually the better money saver.

I just checked the passholder site and your dates aren't available at Pop w/ an AP discount. It would be 40% off, so if you were willing to switch to another value, that is the amount you would save. As PP said, you don't have to already have an AP to book an AP discounted room. When you get to WDW, upgrade your GAD ticket to an AP and show it to the front desk when you check in. If you don't have it at check in, just show it when you return to your resort the first day. Or if you don't want to switch resorts, just keep your 30% off and ignore the rest of my post, lol.

Thanks for all the info everyone!!!

Any guess if the POP may become available? Is it something I could keep checking? DH is insisting on POP for this trip - just loves it!!! lol

I'm on the passholder site daily and can check for you. I'll PM you if it becomes available. :goodvibes

Before I hit submit I checked... Pop is available with a passholder rate! Standard view came to $759 for the 8 nights. Preferred view is $860.

It looks like the discount is not available for the weekend nights, so your deal may be just as good if not better. What are you paying now?

THanks- I think the total is pretty similar to the Preferred view one you got. We wanted to stay preferred in case our nephew needs to rest during the day, one of us could take him back to the room and the other could help parents with the other kids ( he is a Make a Wish child who is just finishing his cancer treatments). I appreciate any help!! Does anyone know if his family (they are able to stay at Give Kids the World Village) would be able to drive over and eat a meal with us for fun in our food court? Or would they be turned away at the gate?

:wave2: Hi Wendy! :)

They can drive over with you and eat in your food court for the fun of it! They can just let the person at the gate know that they would like to eat in the food court and they will let them in! :)

Does he have a handicapped card for his car? If so, make sure to bring that.

But they will let them eat with you guys!

You guys are going to have a wonderful time. :)
