Lisa, Congrats on your Dates! You will love the cruise! I have emailed you from my ebay email, so please check it out.

Thank you :-)

Do you need to book the dolphin excursion a head of time?

Are you talking about the one at Epcot? The tour?

Or something at Sea World?

Or Discovery Cove?

There are LOTS of dolphin things out there. :goodvibes

I am going to say yes. The excursions seem to often fill up.

Maroo, they are cruising for this wish. We'll let it slide that you have not been having as much :surfweb: time! LOL!

:wave2: Hi! We are (hopefully) about to leave for Aidan's wish trip, but I wanted to let you know that I am subscribing. Can't wait to follow your PTR once we get back home. The cruise sounds like a blast! I've never been on a cruise, so I'm somewhat jealous. :rotfl:

You know, people can be cruel, and I think that *we* sometimes see that more than others. Aidan has gotten to where he appears more normal on the outside, but that hasn't always been the case. However, his biggest problem with strangers has been his size. For instance, last year, he was five, but still wearing size 2-3T clothes. We were at Vanderbilt Hospital (a children's hospital), and we had a staff member start talking to him. She said, "You are so smart! How old are you?" Aidan replied that he was five. The lady then said, "No, really? How old are you?". Aidan again said five. She said, "I know you're not five. You're too little to be five. Now, tell me how old you really are." It was an innocent conversation on her part, but it really upset Aidan. We walked away from her with him crying and saying, "I am not little! I am a big boy!" I still like to believe that most people are good, but that their ignorance and/or curiosity make them lose that momentarily.

Even Aidan, who has multiple issues, has been known to stare at someone if they are different. Or to ask me questions about people. I usually instruct him to talk to them and find out. But even those conversations don't always go perfectly. I think we all learn as we go.

Aidan has a prominent forehead and low set ears, which will sometimes get comments from kids. And he wears leg braces and has a feeding tube. I love "special" kids. It seems that whatever they lack physically, they more than make up for in love. I love when a child with special needs is the kindest, most loving, tolerant child. Even they know when adults are being ignorant.

Okay, I have a tendency to write long-winded posts. But I do have to get off of here. Almost time for chest PT again. Just wanted to say I'll be following along! And I think all three of your children are just beautiful. Well, I guess I should say handsome for Christopher, but I still think he's beautiful. ;)

Congrats on the dates! :woohoo:

I made these for March, April & may!! Hope you like them

If you click on them they should go to full size to download if not I will PM you the links for the full size. I did not want to take up too much room!!!

Hi. I just started following along and I saw your post about the dolphin excursion. Yes, you will definitely want to book that one ahead of time, as soon as you can actually. I've never been on a disney cruise, but I have been on several other cruises to the bahamas, and since often there are multiple boats at the port on a given day, the excursions, especially the dolphin swim, fills up insanely fast because the place has to accomadate all the ships and other people that are just staying in the bahamas. We were supposed to go dolphin swimming in Mexico one year, but our ship was detoured to the bahamas because of a huricane the day we were departing FL. We tried to rebook for the bahamas, but it was filled and remained so for the entire cruise. I did get to do it another year in Mexico and it was amazing. Definitely an experience to invest in.

Years ago my husband and I did the dolphin excursion in Nassau. It was at BLUE LAGOON and that is where they filmed that movie with Brooke Shields so long ago.

It was wonderful!

Miranda.. 4 more days :-) I hope Aiden starts feeling better soon. I can't wait to hear all about your trip.
Ash has the low set ears. But your right.. Ash stares at people too :( But she doesn't seem to do it in a mean way..just trying to figure things out.
Thank you :hug::hug: Have a Blast!!!!!

It's our first ever Cruise too.

Mary.. I LOVE those.. Thank you so much!!!!! ((((HUGS)))))

:hug::worship:

PrincessRora and Mcazer ... Great advise. I got my DCL planner today and I read all about the excursions. Since MAW made the booking.. do I need the reservation number for the cruise to book an excursion?

You are welcome!!
Yes you need the confirmation number to book the excusions and Palo for dinner. ( Palo is the Adults only restaurant-just in case you don't know). Since you are under 90 days you can make these reservation at any time. There is also things that need to be filled out on there. Passport and flight information, registering the kids for the kids clubs, a cruise contrast and a place to file a credit card for charges on the ship. I know MAW gives you a spending money check, but they do that like away before you leave. I put one on there for now but you can always change it when you get on board. My chapter sent me a letter with how much they will allow for excursions so I had an idea while I was looking into things.
We are probably going to do the stingray adventure at castaway cay, but they don't have a time that can fit all 5 of us, so I will try to book it onboard. Hoping they will have something. If you go on the DIS home page and go into the cruise section they have a lot of great info and you can see what night the Pirate party is so not to book Palo for that night!! it is alot of fun. I am a compulsive vacation planner, so if you have any question please ask!!! Also, not sure if I mentioned this before, the Passporter Cruise Guide has great info!! I love it!!! Sorry this is so long!!

Maybe you caould call DCL and explain that it is a wish trip, and you heard you can book, etc and maybe they can help you without the number. If that is a no go, call MAW again.

Hi there, I've posted this on the Cruise Magnets and graphics board for you as well, and just now read your pre trip report! How awesome Ashley is being granted this Wish! In 2006 My Daughter was granted a WISH through our Children's Wish Foundation. She had Cancer (Leukemia) and Wished for a land and Sea vacation. We had a fabulous time! We did book her for the Blue Lagoon Dolphiin Encounter as that was her one BIG WISH WITHIN A WISH! However I didn't know about booking ahead of time, and by the time I got around to it through the DCL online booking of excursions, it was FULL, and we couldn't get her in. But as this was also a WISH, I called Blue Lagoon myself and booked her outside of DCL. Back then this was allowed when you were sailing with Disney. Now I understand that if they know you are on a DCL Cruise, they won't let you book. If the DCL excrusion is booked, I recommend going ahead and book directly with Blue Lagoon, just don't tell they you are on a Ship.
All the best to you and your family.
