Ten Sleeps in Disney World!! - An Aug Trip Report *5/9 Departure Day & Final Thoughts

Hi everyone! I'll have an update very soon (almost at the end :sad1:) but today I just wanted to post a little fun. The official date is tomorrow, but today we had a party for Demetri's fifth birthday!!

:woohoo::cool1::banana:

He had soooo much fun... he invited his entire class and we held it at an indoor playground that was amazing. Huge play area with climbing, running, sliding fun.... two enormous treehouses... and a mini soccer play area. We had the place to ourselves and everyone had a lot of fun.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my fun loving, mischief finding, always happy, DISNEY LOVING  sweetheart !!!!!

Hi there :wave2: So many fun times in your TR since the last time I checked in :cool1:

BB looked so fun - both my girls were looking at the pics with me and were asking when we could do the waterparks! Too bad about the rain, but you adjusted your plans nicely so that it all worked out :thumbsup2

Congrats on the upcoming trip :yay: and also starting the home renos :yay: That's a discussion we've been having here too - we've come to the conclusion that doing both is possible it just takes careful planning and doing the home improvements in smaller chunks.

We loved POR - we stayed in the Alligator Bayou section, building 18, it was great. We lucked out on being in the corner that faces the river so it was an easy walk (2-5 minutes) to each of the main building and the pool.

Looking forward to the rest of this TR and hearing more about the Dec. trip :goodvibes

Happy B-day to Demetri! Looks like a fun place to have a party. We had ds's 5th party at one of those places but yours looks a little nicer!

Looks like he had a great time and that cake looks sooooo good :goodvibes

When we check in at the Poly I will ask what kind of activities we can do in the resort and if they have some sort of trail, will let you know for your next trip :) Hope you can find a POR one.

Happy Birthday to Demetri!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope he had an awesome time at his party the other day, and even more fun today!

(Is there any cake left over?) :teeth:

Thank you all for the birthday wishes. Demetri has had a fun filled weekend. A classmate had a bowling party today and we had a small family party for him this afternoon too. Three parties!

We were very impressed with the indoor playground... the facility is called "Little Goobers". :rotfl: We'd booked a semi private party but they didn't have a second booking at the same time we were there so we had the entire place to ourselves... :woohoo:

The cake was vanilla ice cream on a chocolate cookie base. Mmmmm! This was the second year we got a DQ Lightning McQueen cake and they don't disappoint!

:lmao: no cake left over... every bit was eaten up!

Awesome! I hope they have something for you. If I can't find anything for POR I'll see what I can come up with. Maybe something tied into the carriage ride. :confused3

Hello! BB was definately lots of fun and while it was disappointing to miss out on the MK time we were introduced to Wolfgang Puck. Yummmmm!

I joked once before about how miserly George is, but truthfully we're both pretty frugal. So when we decided to start on the basement and had to decide if we could do the trip, I had no qualms spending the money on that prime family time. Thankfully I didn't have to convince George of that either!

Building 18.... we were building 14 and while we loved the close proximity to the main building and ol' man island, we didn't like the hike to the buses. Ahh we'll have to figure out which is more important to us I guess.

That Ice Cream Cake looks yummo.

Do you know that they have indoor play areas like that for older kids. our youth group did it....it's called pump it up....!

Hey Jordan... welcome back! It's tough keeping up with all the laughs over on your TR but I'm trying to jump in there when I can.

Woo-hoo... I looked up Pump it Up and it looks like it would be FUN. Did your group enjoy it??

The wonders of Google...It was a blast! I did the obstacle course race and me and the other guy were laughing so hard at the end!

What a fantastic birthday party Demetri had! We have a place similar to that here in our area and it's called the Jungle Gym. Kids absolutely love it.

They were running around non-stop from beginning to end with just the small cake break. I think two other families booked their parties before they left. Perfect for wearing them out!

:sad1:

For the first time EVER, I was just sent a PIN code and I can't even use it. :sad2: Anyone else get one lately?

It's Remy offering me free quick service dining for travel from Feb 28th to July 3rd when I purchase a 4night/5day package.

Oh man, Remy! Haha. The bearer of semi-bad news.. but hey, a PIN! And maybe if you don't use this one, they'll send you another one!

Hi there - just catching up on some trip report - hoping to get mine reopened so I can continue it!

But yes - in the last few months I have gotten THREE pin codes. Can't use any of them. Especially since DH just got into graduate school. And he says he's not ready to go back! Oh well!

I don't think we've ever gotten a pin but then again it would probably go to waste anyway since we're DVC members! I don't think DVC gives out pin codes. :rotfl:

A Pin!! Here's hoping you get one that you can actually use for your Christmas trip!!pixiedust:

The last couple years we haven't gotten any either.:sad2: But, this year we've gotten 2!! (room only discounts but I'll take them!!) Wish I had gotten your pin code though.....5 day package w/ free quick service....ahh...it's exactly what we wanted!!!:rolleyes1
