Changing the carpets and OMG the bedspreads would do wonders. This is my first time at WL and have looked at enough pix to know these things are soo needed. CR has always called my name but in April I will go here as I have wanted to for so long. Just a much needed clean-up please.

There has been a fairly recent renovation at WL - 2006, maybe? We stayed at WL for the first time last March, and found the rooms to be clean and neat, bedspreads didn't look worn, I guess I haven't seen the problems you are referring to.

In any event, I hope your stay there is all that you hope, have a magical vacation!

I've stayed at WL & loved it. However, I'd love to see it get pretty bedspreads, get a nicer wall color, and lose the ugly border. If I can be picky for a minute...I hate the pattern on the chairs too.

Was there June of last year and everything was clean and up to par in our courtyard view room. Didnt appear anything was dated.

Disney’s hotels typically undergo “soft” renovations, in which bedding, curtains and other fabrics are replaced every six years, and more-extensive “hard” renovations, including new furniture, every 12 years.

Since the last soft refurb at WL was just 3 years ago, I'd say they will do this for you in about 3 years.

We use to be loyal WL visitors, but the quality of the lodge, including but not limited to the housekeeping, professionalism of the CM's, and the food has us changing to a different resort for our next trip. I think this is a downward trend for Disney at almost all of the resorts. I don't look for things to get much better in the future. Walt is surely rolling over in his grave.

Still our Fave-But last 2 trips it was booked solid and we stayed at AKL-which I am really tired of.

We are staying at the WL in April! This will be our first stay there!!!!! Recently I have noticed alot of posts in regard to the WL. Some have not been in favor of the WL. I hope its as great as I read in the past! We are looking forward to our stay!

I know a lot of pictures online on various sites still show the old WL rooms before the rennovations which were in 06-07. You have to look around a bit until you find the updated ones. I noticed even the newest Disney Planning DVD still shows the old decor in the WL rooms (which is pretty sad if you ask me).

I was there in a Woods View for New Years Eve and didnt think the room looked worn at all. The bedspread didnt have tears or show a lot of wear as well as our bunk beds. It was the same as I remember when I first visited the lodge in 2004.

I know, but I think it could be woodsy and pretty at the same time. The wall color could be a bit darker and the chairs could have a different woodsy pattern. I can't get over the chair pattern--I think it's hideous. The love the structure of the chair--just not the pattern on the seats.

I still love the WL. It's beautiful. I'd love the beauty of the resort to be truly reflected in the rooms as well. I was torn between Wl and AKL for this summer, and decided AKL because I think their rooms are more appealing.

I don't know if the OP meant that these things were worn or if he/she just didn't like them.

I just stayed at WL last week for the 4th year in a row and I thought everything looked great! I loooove WL. I really love the cozy feeling

Was in a Courtyard Bunk room earlier this month 9and our only stay at WL) and the carpets and spreads looked fine. Had great interactions with the CMs, the ranger especially. He came out to say good bye and thanks as we waited at 7AM for the magical Express.

We've stayed at the WL several times over the last several years. The last stay was about a year ago and every thing seemed in good condition w/o any problems.
I've NEVER in all my stays had ANY issues at all with the staff at WL-in fact I've always thought they have been so nice and helpful-I've sent e-mails to corporate in praise of a couple of employees there each trip that went above and beyond for us.
As far as the decor-well, it is themed as the resort is: Great Lodges of the West/Pacific Northwest-with Native American influences...maybe not your cup of tea-but I think it is pretty cool.
